I don’t see it as a good or bad thing, but I’m just wondering why. I have some theories though
>they’re contemptuous of proles for not achieving their level of success
Basically being lazy pieces of shit
>they’re contemptuous of anyone who tolerates being in a position of life where you take orders, have no power, and have to face humiliation daily
>because rich people endured stress, competition, cunning to achieve their wealth, they’ve exhausted their stores of tolerance, patience, etc so they feel entitled to expedient customer service and lavish amenities to preserve and nourish this burnout
This is my base case, curious to hear what anons think.

Again, I don’t see it as a bad thing, in a way, I see them as collectively trying to encourage poorfags to do better in life by subjecting them to torment.

When I go get a sandwich at Jimmy John’s or a coffee somewhere I feel this weird mixture of pity and schadenfruede for the worker because they’re on their feet all day dealing with the general public. I feel like MAYBE this feeling for rich people is literally a constant high

But then again i feel like some rich people are repulsed by, and hate, anyone who isn’t rich off pure sociopathy

Sociopath behavior
>But then again i feel like some rich people are repulsed by, and hate, anyone who isn’t rich off pure sociopathy
Insecure projection after literally admitting your disgust and contempt for wagies in your previous stanza.

Also, as a former rich person, I went out of my way to make wagies lives at least a little better. Any time I would eat out I’d make the tip whatever the cost of the food was. So if I spend $50 on dinner with my girl the total would be $100 with the tip. You’d be surprised how many chill rich people there are but then there’s bitter fucks like you who think rich people are like the cartoon CEOs smoking cigars and doing finger pyramids.

> Sociopath behavior
Ironically, these sociopathic tendencies give him an in to understand the Rich most of it will never have.
And of course, of course, I'm not saying that every rich person is a sociopath exhibiting textbook dark triad traits. Of course. But those that do have a leg up over the competition due to their innate willingness, if not desire to trample over their fellow man.

Poor people are also massive dicks, especially when they finally have someone even lower status than them or if you're starting to make it, they become bitterly resentful and start daring to call you evil.
To be frank, everyone is an asshole. Including you and I, OP

Ok but is this feeling I get about them having to stand on their feet all day and make cups of coffee, while having no privacy, behind a counter for 8 hours a day, not a legitimate reason to feel pity?

I’m not rich, but I get to sit in an office with complete privacy in a nice chair for 8 hours a day, with no oversight

I kind of feel bad but I don't feel contempt or wish ill on them. Mostly, when I see people like that, I just feel glad that they're doing that bottom-tier McWagie work so that I don't have to. Why not treat them with a bit of kindness and respect? They're making your life better by doing work for you. I don't understand the mindset of hating wagies desu.

I don’t think this at all. I know there’s decent rich people out there.
>>59644755
Yes I recently got a promotion and my precious coworkers started acting salty. I literally just showed up on time and asked a lot of questions for a few months to get it
>>59644758
I don’t hate them. I just feel pity for their position. I’m polite and respectful to everyone.

I’m just trying to understand why rich people CAN be assholes
>>
>>59644796
I think some a lot of people are just assholes to begin with, and being rich just amplifies that because now they can get away with it and force everyone else to put up with it because they have wealth and power. I bet if you took random assholes off the street and gave them a position of privilege like that, they’d be the same way.

where is this picture from?

>>59644669
it's the easy way to express boundaries, which become more important the more wealthy you are.
>>
>>59644817
Yea this makes sense. I still think there’s a certain sense of vengeance that’s being dished out tho.
>”I spent all of my 20s-30s grinding for this wealth so don’t you DARE take to long to take my order you plebian!”

In other words, they spent decades eating shit, sacrificing their time/energy, and so they have little humility left to deal with any kind of setbacks?

>more important the more wealthy you are
So I guess you mean with increased wealth comes increased need to protect oneself, one’s assets, to be more suspicious of other people, especially lower class people who may have underdeveloped or aberrant behavior/motivations
>>
>>59644669
The two things are linked.
Capitalism rewards antisocial tendencies. Fucking other people over for your own gain will give you more money than prosocial behavior like "doing the right thing".

Also consider that a lot of people are just assholes in general, and being rich gives you some authority to exercise that dickishness.
You can see how quickly power corrupts in meaningless roles like internet janny or little league referee. What do you think actual, real world power does?
>>
>>59644669
Because people dont value your time lile tou do

Yep you’re right
What do you think actual, real world power does?
I’m thinking more along the lines of, say, a google employee making 400K+ or a surgeon making 500k+, not the guys who orchestrating getting Jeff Epps suicided

Not all rich people are assholes, but power of any kind literally changes how your brain functions, which causes some people to turn into assholes. Some people who become famous or are handed authority over others do the exact same thing.

I've met literal-who-gives-a-fuck yocal influencers with barely 100k followers who wouldn't even shake your hand properly (like you were disgusting/beneath them). They didn't need to be rich to act "superior".
