Ok, we have to talk about what we know about Chainlink's mainnet. I'm no LARP nor insider, I'm just a random autistic person collecting public available information. It would be good if we could start talking about the little bits of information that Thomas, Mat and Jonny have given us in the last few days. First of all, the most obvious thing: during this week there has been hardly any activity in the Pivotal Tracker. Why? Well, according to Thomas (related image), the entire team (including Jonny) has gathered in Colorado to do what Thomas has called an inception.https://content.pivotal.io/blog/inception-knowing-what-to-build-and-where-you-should-startRory in Telegram:>“yes we had a team planning meeting after ETH Denver, so a small pause while the team discussed the next steps in development and who is best suited to take on particular tasks”In theory, this would have been the first time the whole team has come together for something like that.
>>59661367Secondly, just on the day Jonny returns to the UK after his meeting with the team after ETH Denver, Mat (from Linkpool) publishes the following (pic related). It sounds as if during the "Inception" there was clear talk of the long-awaited date on which Chainlink will launch its mainnet.
>>59661367However, this post from yesterday made me think.>>12831651And I asked myself two questions>Could this be possible?>And in case it is, what are the incentives to release Chainlink main network NOW if neets are not going to be able to run their own nodes (YET)? I think it's not only possible, it's quite probable since what many of us called staking (it’s literally the deposit and penalty system) hasn’t been developed yet. (pic related)
>>59661367I can only guess that if you had a smart contract and knew what data you needed to put on the blockchain, you could now do it using Chainlink by running your own oracle node(s). You could provide more fault tolerance than Oracalize by running your nodes in multiple data centers and so forth. In the meanwhile we should wait to the additional features of a complete network of decentralized oracles (pic related)
>>59661367>>59661373man thanks for the nostalgia.and fuck jonny the rugging horserimmer
>>59661378staking was released, it was literally in the title of the blog post
>>59661387No problem, by the way I'm homosexual and like getting fucked in the ass and I'm addicted to sucking cocks.
never underestimate the power of positive thought
>>59661550Dude.. YOU ARE A MANIAC!!!
>>59661396>by the way I'm homosexual and like getting fucked in the ass and I'm addicted to sucking cocksim getting massive homosexual vibes from this post
>>59661367You're not thinking big enough. Why is mainnet delayed? The team doesn't miss targets. It's because they're finalizing onboarding large industry users. Wells Fargo, HSBC, Tesla. When they come live on mainnet with staking there will be a value proposition change unlike anything ever seen in crypto. It will make all you speculation pumps seem silly. Industry backing combined with silo'ing of value into staking nodes. More value locked in nodes will make those nodes more appealing to establish industry who value security. There will be an arms race on link tokens. I estimate by EOY 2019 we'll be $200-300, with a pull back to $150 before launching to $500 mid 2020.
>>59661641how do you figure?
how many nodes are in the Chainlink network anyway? I can't imagine it would be that many of them leading up to mainnet.
