How much money do you need in the bank to live just off of the interest payments?

If you do dividents? A few months ago one of this investment YouTubers said about 500~700k at minimum to get what? 2~4k a month? But that's on somewhat high volatile stocks. If you want stable dividends investing in those "noble" companies, like 1~1.5m for an almost guaranteed 5k or something a month.

1M, I'm broke. But if I had 100k I would be happy, I lost all my savings doing leverage trade. I almost killed myself, but I'm still here, I noticed that happiness does not depend on material things, I have a roof over my head, food, and clothing. I'm grateful.

many such cases. i don't know what you guys fuck with that shit. never seen anything good make it story come out of leverage trading.

You have gambling addiction and your frontal cortex is impaired in a way that prevents you from measuring decision-making risks. Hopefully you stay a wagie forever.

I invested a lot of money into ADA, and it went down, I was pissed. I had only 12k by then, I leveraged trade BTC and several other coins, and it became almost 25k over a week. I felt invincible. Opened a high leverage trade in BTC, and it started dumping, I closed the position to save the few thousands it had last, to not get liquidated. As soon as I closed the position, BTC went up and went to 102k. I still wonder what would had happen if I hadn't closed the position, it was 300x leverage, I would probably have 100k by now or more. I lost confidence in my trade, and by trying to recover, lost the remaining money I had saved.

My friend, why do you wish bad things upon me when I never even said a word towards you? Jesus told us to love our enemies, and bless those who persecute us. Why thou persecutes me?

Descent to hell isn't solo. You will eventually drag your wife and kids down with you.

2-5 million to live off interest in general, depending on lifestyle. You can reasonable expect a minimum return of 4% apy. So, that would given you an income of 80-200k per year before taxes. Of course you may get great returns with more aggressive investments, but shouldn’t expect over 10% without incurring unacceptable risk.

If you’re just asking about interest from banks, HYSA are around 4% these days

This charts old. Good luck having any quality of life with a sub-six figure income anywhere that’s not a flyover shithole.

You are assuming a lot of things about me, without actually knowing me anon. I became 23 a few days ago, no wife, no kids, no family, no friends. Don't worry about that, if I had a wife or a kid, I would definitely play safe, I have nothing to lose besides my life. I also haven't put any money that would endanger my life.

If I had a wife and a kid, I would be more conservative in what I do. I just can't stand working as a Software Engineer anymore. I've been a Mid Level since I was 21... No matter how smart you are, without connections you can't do much, the best way to get a promotion is by switching jobs, but unfortunately, the job market is obliterated.

Don't know i'm my situation is better or worse than yours.

I was practically given a ticket to the top. i made several plays into shitcoins that all got me a nice 5X which amounted to 27k and 50k respectively. but i didn't sell. i just bagheld down to nothing. not only losing my gains but even what i initially put in. i could've had a down payment on a condo, left the ghetto, and potentially rolled that shit into more shitcoins that could've made me hundreds of thousands from there.

i am decent at choosing good coins, avoiding rugs, but i always baghold. you have no idea how much regret i feel from not selling. knowing i was just handed more money than i've ever made wagecucking in just one year, and i didn't accept it.

at least you had 100k to lose. i made more money than anyone in my entire bloodline, and didn't take it. all i can think about is what i would be doing right now if i did. going on vacation to Asia or Europe, getting away from my abusive mom.

Sorry to hear that. If you really want to stop waging you should reno real estate or sell cheap chinese shit in a physical/digital store.
I'm sure there's other ways to make money but this is what comes up most commonly among my age group. Haven't heard of anyone who got rich trading in my town.

I wouldn’t trust any bank but theoretically 800k should be more than enough with current inflation

at least you're not doing back breaking manual labor and probably pulling in significantly more money a year than most. you're 3 years and about 8 months younger than me, and you still have immense potential.

you'll be more than fine. you shouldn't even be worried about that money.
>>
>>59667836
Than you for sharing your story anon, I relate to you, If you didn't sell, depending on the coins you've got, they could still go back. I hope you make it!

>>59667862
I think I'll save up what I can and do something like that, it's a struggle really.

>>59667875
I wouldn't say that, I started 'gambling'/'trading' because my mom lost her job almost 1 year ago, and she wasn't getting much interviews since she didn't took all the 'death shots' aka vax. I started to pay her mortgage and all the bills. I was saving almost nothing each month, which caused me a lot of despair, I felt truly hopeless. She got a job now, and I feel happy for her, but it's nowhere near enough to pay the bills. So I guess I'll keep paying the bills for now.

I hope you do fine as well anon, you're 3 years older than me, 26 is still young. I'll be cheering for you on the sidelines.

How old is your mom? I don't want to be morbid but maxing her life insurance before she gets super sick is also a very easy way to make a million. Also it won't be taxed like inheritance. And thank your mom before she dies.
>>
>>59667421
It depends on the lifestyle but at 1M dollars in Treasuries equates currently to about 4-5k a month and that's not bad.

Real estate- it really is bricks and mortar. I once had 4 2bm units, awesome cash flow especially if you manage tenants yourself.
