I'm curious on how you anons got into /biz/ness, was it always an interest to you or was there a catalyst or some event in your life that got you interested? Did your parents teach you, did you learn on your own, those kinds of things.
it's geneticit runs in my familysame as playing mandolin(I was not aware of it before starting a business or playing that particular instrument)Been hustling since high schoolstarted out selling PS1 games, movies, musicHaving a CD burner and knowing how to use it was a golden goose back then
I always liked reading books on stocks, when I was a kid I wanted an ETrade account but my parents wouldn’t get me one. Then I got into watching YouTube videos on banking conspiracies when I was a teenager, just kind of snowballed from there, decided I wanted to work finance ect. I really like markets.
>>59672944got any good recommendations on stock books/learning material?
>>59672905last year on april, i was 29, one morning i woke up, went to take a piss and suddenly realized i was about to turn 30 and hadn't gotten my shit together yet so i hit the panic button and i've been trying desperately to make money since
>>59672960>stocks lol just left or rightcurve it and remove emotions from the game
>>59672960Micheal Lewis’s books really made me excited to learn more about everything in finance. I don’t have any recommendations for learning necessarily, the book that first got me started when I was 7 was some kids book where he mows lawns and then invests the money into stocks and a boxer and gets rich.
>be born to single mother>dad fucked off, never was around>realise quickly that in this world, you get NOTHING and everyone wants EVERYTHING you have>Mum gets me a PC once im 10 years old because her work is throwing them out>Gets me an internet connection too>Find 4chan as a teenager>Get all my news from imageboards and 4chan adjacent humour>People talk about bitcoin in like 2018>Follow it ever sinceI live online, I am on the pulse of new news and societal movement at all times, I live and die by the memes
>>59672905Probably undiagnosed autism. If I latch on to something that I really like, I learn it and do it very well. My career, gym, Scrabble, investing, etc. I can't really remember how or why I got into investing. I just started small with like $50 to learn the basics and then I built it up to 7 figures over the past 10 years. I read CNBC and my crypto newsletters everyday for fun.
>>59672967>been trying desperately to make moneyand have you made any?
>>59673000checked, thanks for the reply. do you like reading about the history of markets/trading? or just sticking with current day
>>59673171I prefer to read market history for pleasure, but most of my reading ends up being news sources for modern market yes, risk.net, Reuters, FT, ect.
>>59672905Zero interest in it until 2020 when I realised I was financially retarded (I suck at maths) and had to play catch-up. I just don't want to work and would like to own a modest but nice and warm house in a nice area. That's my only incentive.
>>596731167 thousand in total.but i opened a broker account and dumped $1100 on the s&p500.and back in november i cashed out $2200 to buy some equipment for a new business i'm about to start.this will be the first time i've ever had a business or employees. we'll see how that goes.what sucks is that i've been in crypto for less than a year and i already missed 6 opportunities to make life changing money...my problem is that i'm too much of a pussy and don't take enough risks.definitely need to get a little braver.obviously i shouldn't be stupid and throw my life savings at the first shitcoin i find but if i find a good opportunity (and this has happened 6 times already) i definitely should take the risk.i'm learning as i go.
