Not yet, retards are coping that Europe will "bend the knee" but here's the thing: Europe's knees literally can't bend, they can't remove VAT just because Donny wants them to because it would fuck the EU's core financial system. To get concessions like this usually you need to win a war against a country or a bunch of them.

So the tariffs will stand because the orange nigger certainly wont backtrack and lose face, the market is fucked.

If you are sure markets are going to continue tanking, yes. But if there's an unexpected uptick in the markets you're going to get raped. Same with a put spread if you think markets are oversold but it continues to tank
Collecting premiums right now is extremely profitable, but carries a lot of risk because no one can tell whats going to happen.

Protectionism is actually based anon. The real problem is, it takes DECADES to prepare for it, by stimulating national industry and ensuring stable growth of internal consumer base.
Orange retard is trying to do in 4 years what China tried to do in 40, and China is still behind on several crucial things. All without willing workforce to work on factories and all while the main producer of factory equipment - EU, is now taxed by tariffs.

>it's real.. what the fuck are they smoking in brussels?
They're all sadists who hate the natives.
In the case of Germany the problem runs even deeper. Way deeper.
There is nothing a German despises more than his own kin.
This must also be prevalent in other native European societies as most (if not all) of them seem hell bent on self destruction.

When it comes to capital gains within Germany, it is a weird ying and yang situation. On the one side there is this "unrealized capital gains tax" lunacy ("Vorabpauschale") and the (now thankfully scrapped) "Verlustverrechnung" which limited losses on futures and options to be deducted from potential gains only up to like €20k per year (had gains of €50k? had losses of €40k?; WELL TOO BAD MOTHERFUCKER, YOU'LL BE PAYING CAPITAL GAINS ON A FULL €30k OF HYPOTHETICAL GAINS NO MATTER IF YOU HOLD THEM IN THE END OR NOT)...
Then there is the other side which sees Germany having a (comparatively) very low blanket tax on capital gains at 25%, no more questions asked.

Even if the EU doesn't do anything, and Trump passes that as a victory, nothing really changes for the EU anyway. The one that will pay their shit +30% overnight are Americans, anyway. With the inflation that comes with it. Post-covid inflation on steroids.
EU could do nothing and it doesn't change that America shot both its legs. EU shooting the arm doesn't change anything at this point, especially as China already shot the other arm.
Only a complete removal of tariffs can save anything. If there's anything left to save, that is.

The whole point of a dead cat bounce is to shakeout as many as possible. Trying to time it is difficult and not worth the squeeze. Its obvious now the trend will be going down. Might be smart to just go SQQQ on open and ignore the inevitable bounce.

>>60145400
I have no clue what exactly the vision is here. You have Trump, Elon, and etc going "have more kids have more kids have more kids". Then when asked about manufacturing in America and how it will make things more expensive "oh these jobs will be done by robots. also email jobs will be done by AI. entire swaths of the economy will be all automated". If we are going to automate the entire economy then why do we need more kids? If we aren't going to implement UBI why are we trying to automate the entire economy from factory worker to doctor?

Something I've noticed:
>Most of the developing world is dependant on commodity exports and basic manufacturing as their main sources of revenue instead of taxes
>But now budget need to be cut to the bone where crises already existed in day-to-day budgets thanks to the US axing foreign aid
>And the IMF is now overburdened while other developed countries have also drastically scaled back their own foreign aid

Huge swathes of the planet are about to fall apart. How do I profit from this? I'm thinking companies with contracts for deterring/processing migrants and private security for mining/oil companies operating in unstable areas (e.g. Nigerian oil).

>>60144155
It's more like everyone now needs to work out what specifically they can tariff from the US while minimising the blowback from said tariffs. China can get away with doing it from the start because it has its own orbit and has long planned for a US embargo from the US but other countries need to work out what specifically they want to tariff where alternatives exist - the EU chose motorcycles the last time around because it's such an easy punching bag.

The EU has best spelled it out that they will respond on a timeframe of weeks and months. So we'll have a week or so of negotiations and people trying to work out wtf he's thinking and then the pressure will start to rise after analysts do their work.

The tariffs aren't about protectionism. No one in that administration is stupid enough to do that and there is verifiable evidence of this. The agendas and goals of this administration are as follows...You implement tariffs and use them as a way to gain deals on rare earth mineral and other favorable resources you will need going forward. Broadly, you get The Stargate Project going. You get robotics and AI advanced. You build robots and manufacturing facilities and through technology you completely outproduce all rival "cheap labor" nations.

The goal was never to get Cletus making t-shirts in a factory. The goal is to transition the nation into the ultimate robotics, automation, and AI country on Earth. Every single thing points to this and the administration has made multiple errors letting this fact slip. Meetings with Jensen (but not any of the other chip makers), Elon working close with the administration, Lutnick talking about robot workforces, building of manufacturing to eliminate the China-Taiwan risk on semis, referring to the tariffs as "national security matters," the odd fixation on Greenland, the breakthroughs going on even at this moment, it's all there. If I'm wrong, then the U.S. is done. It's legitimately over. If I'm right, then U.S. is going to be the biggest juggernaut of the next century and beyond.

Here's how this works. If the U.S. starts making breakthroughs publicly, it's over for China. The only option they have is to take Taiwan and cut the U.S.'s supply to semiconductors to power its automation and it would work. The U.S. despite having a technological behemoth on its side, needs those chips. If you manufacture them in the U.S. though, China loses that strategic option. This is how the U.S. is going to dominate. Oh and about Greenland...You have massive square footage for data centers that can be naturally cooled. They'll melt the ice of Greenland with the heat from the computation they intend to run.

Because Cletus is shit-his-pants terrified of technology, especially the kind we're talking about here. People like that believe it's Satanic and man trying to play God. You can't come out and sell yourself as a technologist or anything approaching a "transhumanist." The American people are obstacles to the sort of future this administration can bring about. China's people are on board with it. The American people are huge pains in the ass.

You need to frame it correctly to sell it to them and the unique demographic traits and beliefs of the American people requires a very specific sales pitch. This isn't something you can risk because liberals feel the machines won't be black or gay enough or the conservatives feel that the machines are an affront to Jesus. You also just can't come out and say "hey, here's the step by step way we're going to basically turn everyone in the world into our inescapable bitches." Because then no one makes the deals you want them to make and China takes Taiwan to stop you from ever getting that inescapable lead on everyone else.

Lutnick explained this today but people pretend not to listen. You need humans to build the factories, and operate them, and keep them well-maintained. It's not AI all the way down like Musk and other utter retards will have you believe. Anyone who knows anything about automation and AI knows that human fucking beings are a critical part of it, often just to fact-check that the machines aren't off hallucinating something retarded. And to perform physical debugging and maintenance, something machines are decades away from if that.

Maybe we get fully automated luxury space communism in 100 years, but for now Cletus is going to need to keep the robots working and all he needs is a high school degree, some machining training, and some on-the-job training to be able to do that. That's the idea.

But that's me steelmanning Lutnick. I don't actually know what's going to happen, which is why I'm hodling cash (almost all short-term T bills).

In other words, you have to do almost exactly what this administration is doing. If you have the atomic bomb, you need to make everyone think you don't, even better if they think you're retarded and could never make something like that. If in order to make that bomb you need a unique supply chain and components you don't have ready access to, you need to convince everyone the components are worthless in your hands and you can't show too much interest in any of it. What they need to do this AI project is far more convoluted than what was necessary for the Manhattan Project.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. The average American is EVEN MORE of a servile pussy and as apathetic as the average Russian. Probably more.
I have more respect for sandnigger Iranians going with their fists against their government shooting live bullet on them during demonstrations.
Utterly pathetic.
