Also I worked labor jobs all through undergrad, rain or shine. Good money and yah it was tough on the body but nothing insane. The old guys who had been there for more than a decade were making mad money, and they were the laziest motherfuckers there. Just need to get off your ass and work yourself up.

Okay you seem to get it. I worked all my life too but unfortunately lab tech doesn't produce as good life outcomes as finance does. Your sentiment is true though.

My point is there will be long standing consequences for the people doing essential work (like pathology) which can't be immediately automated but are still working for shit wages. The reality is that's happening in more industries that most would like to admit.

Hopefully if you do get unlucky you're still able to make it.

Shitty luck, but that's the way it is. Med schools should definitely open up more slots considering the doctor shortage, but that isn't about to change at this moment due to it being a self-governing profession.
