Okay, let's just stick with the basics
>>
>>60226083
Platinum is probably more divisive than silver vs. gold. It’s not an historic precious metal, it’s very modern. It’s very niche, a much smaller market.

It has very interesting properties, and it’s very rare. In that sense it is like a fancy gold alternative. Unlike gold, it isn’t… the representation of wealth itself. Gold is money and jewelry. Gold is what central banks lock up in underground vaults. Gold was a flex for kings and nobility, and still is. Platinum is a commodity mainly used in catalytic converters.

It is the noblest of metals: it basically doesn’t react to anything. You practically need to sacrifice a Tesla battery bank to melt it. But it’s priced as a catalytic converter component, so it’s more like an industrial metal like silver. Except that silver and gold are peas in a pod. Silver also has more uses than duct tape, whereas platinum is more of a green policy being getting phased out by (allegedly) greener policies (electric vehicles)…

I’m not against owning platinum. I’ve always wanted to have one platinum coin. Buuuuuuut… it’s kind of a novelty. It’s certainly a valuable, pretty thing. It will never tarnish, rust, or deteriorate… ever. But selling it for fair value, or quickly, or what that value will be in ten years… is a gamble.

I think I would have a hard time selling a normie on silver. I'm thinking about getting my mom to buy PMs, and I don't think silver would be good for her, because she would easily panic sell it to buy a new car or something. For her gold would be better because it's less volatile. For someone looking for long term gain, I feel like silver is the way to go.
>>
>>60228741
Once you explain the derivatives market to someone w/ the willingness to learn, they'll see it as a long term investment. If they're open minded, most normies aren't. But I convinced my parents to very casually stack, and my sister finally sees silver as a "long term savings account" so I know she won't sell the silver I give her for presents. Though she doesn't buy any on her own.

Basically it's people who sell paper claims representing real assets to other people. Because you just need a piece of paper (a reciept) to say you've got said asset, this opens up the market to massive fraud that lowers the price of said asset because sellers can make out there's more of it available than there actually is. They can get away with it because they've got connections with other sellers to offer their stack if one of them gets into a spot of trouble, but the fraud is exposed when everyone takes delievery and no one sells. It is very similar to a bank run in a factional reserve banking system.

>I don’t mind a bank sucking the life out of me if I get more in return. And I don’t mind a bank being in the business of selling securities if it means I get a cool website and easy money transfers at no direct cost to me.

What causes redditors to be like this?
>>
>>60229696
What's the meaning of this?!
>>
>>60230387
PSLV is Sprott Physical Silver Trust. They hold claims to silver. When it's shorted it's expected that the spot price of silver will drop and the shorters will make money. It's also speculated that in addition to the "paper silver" this also suppresses the price because there's incentive to keep the price going lower.
When the shorts volume decreases its a sign the price will most likely rise.
Not financial advice.

Somewhat slow thread today. The ESL shills are probably having a hard time finding /pmg/.

BTW, how quickly do you guys think a limited run of 5,000 one oz. Gold bars could be slurped? I want one of these >>60226303 but I have to wait a few weeks for my passive income to roll through. Also, anyone else thinks there might be a dip next week? For some reason, Kitco seems to be shittsing itself.

Anyone else noticing (or noticed a while ago) that the stock and crypto markets GENERALLY trend together? How am I supposed to see crypto as anything other than fiat with extra steps, just like the stock market? Honestly? How is BTC or any crypto coin supposed to be 'digital gold' if they generally trend with the market?
I sort of knew it already, but the trends this year hammered it home for me, and the previous 10% of my savings in precious metals suddenly seems like it's not nearly enough.
Sort of kicking myself for not dca'ing into gold and silver when gold was 600 an ounce, when I first became interested in pm's.

Uruguay anon here I have some bad news about IQ. I made a connection to an HR gal at Tata Consultancy in Montevideo and described him and his behaviors using their servers and VPNs to manipulate precious metals. She told me there's nothing they can do he's somehow connected to a minority shareholder of Tata and whatever he does doesn't matter he's considered untouchable they can't even write him up most days he doesn't even show up for work and when he does he just goofs off in his office or spends his days trading stocks and other things.

That fact he shills against silver but not gold shows that silver is the best to buy. Thanks IQ.

Scrap yards stopped taking cats because there was no other way to limit theft. If you had the means to refine and pour yourself and could make use of the white/grey market of not necessarily stolen or those from mechanics and tertiary occupations then you could do quite well for yourself.
>>
>>60236322
Not sure what you mean exactly, I don't trade in derivative markets outside of sprott ETFs in negligible quantities but every PM instrument I can find is tracking the underlying commodity price even SLV. Despite this and the reason I'm replying there's been much talk even before the crash started of people withdrawing the physical PMs at the heart of such funds, I think even Sprott IIRC. Eventually with less or no specie backing these the price of these would collapse regardless of the movement of gold and silver. Comex had moved more into their vaults recently and this showcases the inevitable problem well. If one cannot receive a commodities contract as physical delivery then the contract is or can be worthless. The PMs derivative market is by far one of the most fucked in class regularly trading a years worth of mining in a day. Should demands of physical delivery outstrip what is available then they may try to settle in cash but this kills the purpose of the fund. Those playing now are in part hedging against fiat taking a shit, if you get physical delivery of a shelf stable good then hyperinflation doesn't really matter to you. Whatever you are seeing is investor risk being priced in. Germany wants their Federal Reserve stored gold back and this isn't the first time they asked. If something like that were to come to light then you'll see everyone break for the doors at once. We all know there is far more gold on the books than actually exists but the con works in a high trust economy when gold is supposed to just sit underground doing nothing. But a superpower publicly revealing they sold gold of a supposed ally probably several times over is going to end the practice of third party storage. If they can get left holding an empty bag so can anyone not physically holding.

I remember when I got back into stacking years ago and the price was $1600 per ounce. That actually felt high at the time given my personal perspective. And now here we are, a solid $1000 above $2200.
Suddenly even higher numbers seem much more feasible.

Yes, she gets on a steady trend upward, she's doing alright in life, but then randomly next week she just plummets back to the same ol' bullshittery. All that work, for naught. Meanwhile, Gold is like Ivanka Trump, your own daughter that you just want to fuck silly for some odd reason.

Suck my cock, you turbofaggot. I only started stacking last year, and have already amassed 120 oz of Silvers. I'm no streetshitter, Silver to me, is just annoying and doesn't seem as safe of an asset as Gold currently is.

Those suck because they break for no reason. If you leave them in there and don’t autistically open them up ever again they should be okay but you’ll see, at least one will crack just closing it up the first time

Ordered a coin from TopWorldCoins via ebay.
USPS finally got it to my city 10 days ago. Starting 8 days ago it then bounced into my zip code'[s office, then back to the city's distribution center, back into my zip, and, back out to the city. I filed a search for it two days ago and haven't heard peep since.
Thank you for ruining the USPS, DeJoy.

>amassed 120 oz of Silvers

Lmao nice ESL Ramesh lmao no one would say amassed for only 120 ounces. And it's silver not silvers jeet. Lmao you incels are pathetic don't give these jeets (yous)

boomer rock bros ... I haven't held stocks since 2023. I've been long treasury bills and senior loans. I sold senior loans on April 1 because they were already tanking. Now the bills are tanking along with the USD. I think we're here. This is what you retards spoke about since the GFC. It's happening. Dedollarization is real....
>>
>>60242364
Lmao no one made you stupidly order a coin stupidly from ebay, lmao well actually jeets made you do it but you chose to read the incel blog they post on and fall for the obvious silver scam

I don't think Treasury bills are tanking. If anything, they've seen a slight rise in price.

Notice they can't just have a normal name like silver enthusiasts. Bank agents probably picked the dumb name to attach some stupid negative connotation so its not taken seriously.
