(My bad, I didn't see the new thread. I'll copy-paste the post)
Early on I was just looking at the graph and eyeballing it, cooming at 0.2% profits.
These days, I'm looking at the stochastic RSI and recent peaks\valleys.
>If the current price is x% below the average, and the stochastic RSI blue line just fully passed the orange one from below, buy. I've been looking at x = 1/2.5/5% increments to get an idea
>If the current price is the same % above average that it was when you bought, and the stochastic RSI line fully passes from the top, sell
This has been yielding 1-2% per trade, a couple times per month. I did a rough simulation of this strategy on previous months, and it yielded about 8% profit per month. In theory.
Starting this month, I put it into practice, got a ~2.2% profit, but afterward got gangbanged by a mistake: I bought too high, and didn't foresee the dump.
To hopefully remedy this, I'm adding a new rule to my strategy:
>Look at recent peaks and valleys, and consider them when deciding when to buy\sell. The new peak\valley will likely be close enough to the recent previous ones
Next I'll try to figure out a way to predict when there'll be HUGE peaks\valleys, like the -10% recently with BTC. Moreso so I don't get gangbanged again, rather than to make quick big profit necessarily.
Also, I've had the mentality of looking at the bigger picture, at profits from month to month, instead of trying any (semi-)quick flips. A generous anon told me that tip. I've been looking at 4h ticks as my primary, with 1d as auxiliary. When you're getting ready to buy\sell, use a quicker tick to try to get an easier trade.

Hope this autistic wall of text helps you guys. Anons here helped me out, so I wanna give back a little.

This is true. However, there is a very real (future) usecase for blockchain tech for asset custody and management. Imagine bank to bank transfers being fast, safe, and secure.
Ironically, as this happens, it becomes less decentralized and more of a fracture point
>>
>>60877390
>there is a very real (future) usecase for blockchain tech for asset custody and management
The tech being useful doesn't mean people have to pay for the tokens issued on blockchains. They can just copy the source code, fork it and use it for whatever purpose they have in mind.
>Imagine bank to bank transfers being fast, safe, and secure
This is already true in most countries. The US is pretty unique in not having instant bank transfers because its banking system predates a lot of modern tech. This is why shithole countries often have better banking tech than more developed ones. Their banking systems are relatively new and they didn't have to deal with decades of baggage.

i already mentioned it before, i dont like that it's already a $124m market cap for $16m revenues, future growth already being priced in heavily, plus that rapid growth is coming at a huge expense, look at their cashburn

If you're running a stock screener to find gems, set up the price-to-revenue ratio for stuff under 5 only, anything much higher than that and it's already being priced in. Yes you can stil make money and often the price-to-revenue is higher because the gross margins are higher, on paper it looks like Xtract's gross margins are higher..
but you also have other companies like IDN with 90% gross margin and you're paying less than 5x price-to-sales revenue for the company (or well at least i did but it's gone up slightly over that since i bought)

Great potential comm business not to compete with existing comms like ATT, Vodaphone but to provide them with the ability to offer direct cell to sat services to enhance their current customer service offerings. ASTS working with them for testing and development to ensure their sat service works with each current comm company service. Also ASTS working with US DOD on government contracts for military comms and part of the Trump golden yamulka missile shield. Best time to buy was $5. Its already 10x, but still has lots of room to grow. Major technical and financial hurdle is to launch 50 sats ASAP. ASTS is accelerating sat construction and plans to deploy as fast as possible and needs to buy rocket launch capacity for launches this year and next year to get the minimum number of sats in orbit to begin providing services to generate revenue. They may have to dilute, a rocket could explode, there are short term risks but the mid to long term looks good.

less value, you lose money if all else equals

if macro is bad, market is expensive whatever you dont wanna hold index funds, but it doesnt mean u have to go 100% cash + puts, you can just be more picky and buy VALUABLE companies and then short the market as INSURANCE
so like buy ur pennyscam moonshots that are at least profitable and growing at good value despite bigger companies being overpriced -> but you also buy someth ing like RWM (short russell 2000 fund) as insurance, not a bet, as insurance!!! if you win, the insurance cost you can write off at least to lower taxes, and if you lose well assuming they're good companies you would hold anyways, you make some back with your insurance and u buy the dip

i mean if it was me id be more concerned about the debt but if it really is for (good) acquisitions as anon said before then debt is also good (in contrast to stock offerings that will dilute you) *assuming* the company itself is already positive cashflow which it looks like it is, otherwise taking on debt while negative cashflow is kinda a big red flag, thats one of the criteria i use to just strike out a company as an option

remember these companies are all FIGHTING for your money, not the other way around, they all have to prove theyre the best place to put your money in, ur not cheerleading a company ur investing, ur the one in the position of power

Ashtead fails for me instantly purely because
it's not available through my broker unfortunately lol so i didnt look much further

i mean if it's any consolation id prob sooner buy GAMB before NVDA
on a value basis it's pretty cheap, theyre printing cash at high margins since yeah theyre the casino
i guess the risks you have to list out one by one would have to do with regulation, but cigarettes and shit still appreciates to this day coz i assume all these "sin stocks" just do share buybacks to artificially get 2x gains

if i didnt already have my own moonshot to buy for more than just 2x gains, i'd prob be looking into this more deeply coz at this price ranges your downside risk gets lower and lower as it dumps down
just have to list out all the. i assume regulatory risks whatever and see if the 2x is still worth it at this price levels now, not like anyone here is buying it at the higher prices a few months ago, u'd be buying it now

not sure why the others were hating on GAMB, it seems pretty cheap at a glance.
again not gonna buy it tho lol i have my eyes on something else on tuesday unless it's not red

also how did they actually heir shelf and dilute before if ever

IDN did the same thing, they renewed their shelf after it expired since 3 years, and it's valuable just to have a s-3 active just in case, good buying opportunity if underlying company is decent longterm, hopefully they never use it unless theres a rally obviously
>>
>>60877717
>While this was not a randomized controlled trial

>>
>>60878217
yeah i mean what the current value changes the context a lot, AMPL was in my watch list but i didnt buy it (well i sold it now lol) until it dumped -10% after it earnings (after it gapped up like +20% lmao)
like if GAMB was $6 like closer to $200m valuation when their revenus are $150m+ with HIGH margins then even more attractive right? the underlying isn't a cashburning diluting company, but the stink of a sin stock is a concern on a relatively new industry because it can be a target politically, cigarettes/alcohol at least are established
im almost interested but you'd need to quantify what the risk really is, how hard can it get fked by some new legislation? are there easier/safer 2x's or better?

if u tell me GAMB dumps more then i'd prob be interested but right now i got other picks i want to buy (risk-reward changes tho for GAMB obviously if it dumps more on just fear then yeah the more interesting it gets, ppl have short memory and super bowl is not within 2 months yet)

>>
>>60878257
>Why is the stock price the same as it was a year ago
stop thinking like this.
value the company for what it is now, it's the same price when it IPO'd but its revenues are 3x since then
if you can determine that the upside really overwhelm the downside at this point (it's a sin stock) then it's good, ur not buying in 2021 when other picks were better, ur buying in 2025

i do think there's some risks not being accounted here tho, and theres a lot of chatter about GAMB online, lots of institutional interest already -> you have a lot of people you're up against, many with more information since lets face it how many of us even do investigative journalism on our stocks, lol no one

im hoping tuesday is red im going to buy some more shit in my watchlist :))) good night
>>
>>60878314
and in terms of unknowns , i dont really understand the business, the operating expenses seem to grow proportionally with revenues so that doesnt look appetizing to me (id prefer if expenses go up slower than revenues obviously....)
so the "gross margins" of 95% here seems like a trap, dont rely on that, im going to guess that with this industry you need to keep spending a lot on marketing to get your revenue so the real margins are much higher, they're getting lumped into operating expenses instead of cost of revenue so be careful on that -> they are profitable tho regardless

Iran is in no shape to fight a war, and it's mostly contingent on how likely Israel wants to agitate another conflict again.

Venezuela can be fought economically, their sour crude is very high in sulfur and requires imported diluents to be able to process and export it. It looks like thick, greasy crap and won't flow through a refinery without it.

Not a shot will be fired on the US end at this rate.

Lot of companies like that. It is a sign management is draining the company. Maybe through bonuses or salaries. Cracker Barrell does it mainly with dividends for example. >war brides

Sir, you are the US, not Japan. And it's 80 years later.

>Japan’s abhorrent practice of enslaving women to provide sex for its troops in World War II has a little-known sequel: After its surrender — with tacit approval from the U.S. occupation authorities — Japan set up a similar “comfort women” system for American GIs.

>An Associated Press review of historical documents and records — some never before translated into English — shows American authorities permitted the official brothel system to operate despite internal reports that women were being coerced into prostitution. The Americans also had full knowledge by then of Japan’s atrocious treatment of women in countries across Asia that it conquered during the war.

>Tens of thousands of women were employed to provide cheap sex to U.S. troops until the spring of 1946, when Gen. Douglas MacArthur shut the brothels down.

You're going to get war gigolos.

everything has to be viewed in context of the confrontation with china. it's a worrying development. venezuela exports oil to china and it's something we would want to shut down if things got dicey in the pacific. how the usa treats venezuela can be viewed as a barometer for how we view china in that sense.
unrelated to your question but related to the issue and discussed in the thread already is the recent developments in asia with xi and modi meeting. we (the usa) had been hoping that india would check china in any taiwan conflict, pressing border disputes in tibet and forcing them to split forces and resources, open a 2nd front. that seems unlikely now. china is not unaware of this either and was likely the impetus for this recent meeting. so these are not encouraging signs if you're a fan of world peace. strategically venezuala is very valuable though and bringing it back into the western fold similar to what happened with argentina would be a good thing for the american empire.

Its because Venezuela is part of BRICS, is key economy in South America. US empire wants to break BRICS as a group, and break Russia and China as individual countries but is failing badly. US failed so far to take down Russia via Ukraine, failed to take down Iran, wants to pivot to China but cannot get out of Urkaine yet. So, why not start another action against Venezuela (both as a strategic move against BRICS, to control Venezuelan oil, and to distract from the Epstein files and failure to bully Russia). Same as GBush 1 did against Panama (Noriega was a CIA asset, but he closed the school of the americas where US trained terrorists and he got too big for his britches in the drug and money laundering game (he was not paying is cut to the CIA (George Bush)).

he is going to be primarily concerned with unemployment, unfortunately for my cash gang stacc. I wonder how much bad data and revisions affect their bottom line. Like, do they now include the possibility of incorrect economic data in their decision making?

Cutting for the job market does have the added benefit of easing tensions with the treasury, which is sad it has to think about, and fiscal concerns. I can see 50-75bps cuts by EoY. Enough to get rid of the uptrend in unemployment.

If the MSM is to be believed, one person juggles two or three jobs, dodges between four and six creditors, seven to ten BNPL providers, and can't afford a $10-$12 pumpkin spice latte every day anymore.

They own nothing. It's all borrowed. They own nothing and are happy, but only until they fuck up once and it all gets taken away from them. Women and minorities most affected.

Funny thing is, they say that men drop out of work, especially caucasian men, but the people most indebted are definitely not them. Who is really better off here? Jobless or debt slave?

>I can see 50-75bps cuts by EoY.
I can foresee that, but I do not foresee a high likelihood of cuts this time around for September. This next month will definitely be a probe to where the pain points are for the decision makers because even the people paid to study the Fed are giving it a 50% coin toss. Markets are hinging towards 95% bias towards cuts.

I guess it really isn't that hard. A 40k car with 3k down is $627 a month for six years with a 7% interest rate. Maybe the interest is lower, maybe they paid a little more down. But that seems to be the average now. If people have more to put down they just buy a nicer car.
>>
>>60878721
I think you underestimate how much people stretch their finances thin. We're also in this weird impasse where interest rates and their loan durations are high enough that they are no better off with a new or late-model used car.

About half of the used car buying public buy used cars in cash. The other half may as well have just financed a new, cheaper car, but they really want that crossover SUV.

Fuck, I keep telling myself I need to be more compassionate, and doing so has rewarded me with generous dividends, but why do people have to be like this? I'm finding myself trying not to dehumanize the general public.
>>
>>60878738
A lot of people can't wrench. Given people are paying $700 to get front brakes done that changes the equation. They may be better off buying new or leasing. For me I can buy a $20k CR-V with 70k miles. No problem for me doing the maintenance.

I have a part-time warehouse job. I see the average consumer. a car payment is just seen as a regular monthly expense as ubiquitous as rent or food to them. I try to talk to some of these guys and when you bring up retirement or emergency savings they belittle you.

And they should. Wrenching has saved me so much money that it actually made me upwardly socioeconomically mobile. I only pay if I know the job will make me lose a weekend. Auto/shop should be reinstated in national curriculums or as an elective summer course.

Apparently a few /o/tists are appalled by how often I have to replace suspension components on my car. I just like accelerating through speedbumps and jumping my car. With how I drive, I'm going to break things on my car and I'm fine with that.

With that said, I should probably consider installing a subwoofer in my car. I'm going to be on my third set of speakers soon. The full-range speakers are not holding up to what I'm pushing through them.

The only way out of us debt is more taxes. Americans are not entitled to a giant house and 3 cars. They shouldn't get paid 10x what a euro makes or 100x what a third worlder makes since they offer nothing more than them.
>>
>>60878806
Euro land isn't a very welcoming business environment. US sold out to corporations long ago and pretty much all sci-fi says that is the future. Not counting the ones that say WW3 then utopia.
>>
>>60878801
It's every two years for me.

On top of the hard driving, I also do a lot of driving on gravel and corrugated roads and I don't slow down. I really should be genuinely considering racing shocks but at the cost to make it reliable, I can replace ten OEM suspensions instead. I'm surprised I've never snapped a spring, but I guess frequent strut replacements have never let the springs fatigue enough to break.

180k miles of this and the car still runs well. Not bad at all.

>>60878804
Car expenses are naturally very high. Even for cheap cars it's several thousand a year. I saved so much money not paying a mechanic or a tech that the savings have allowed me to do things like move across the country to pursue better jobs, live in nicer neighborhoods, add more to savings and retirement, etc. If I did not know how to maintain and repair cars, I'd be stuck in a very bad spot.

It is. Mechanics quote around $1000-$1500 total around here for the job, which is a racket. /diy/ is about $250 per axle, and a case of beer for the buddy who has the hydraulic jack and a driveway.

I just use whatever's on discount at Parts Express for speakers. The expense is insignificant. Since the music I listen to is very bass heavy, I can justify the subwoofers now that I've destroyed another set.
>>
>>60878830
Not them, but with my 2009 Honda Fit I saved tons of money doing the work. Did so much crap to this car. Shocks, struts, starter, multiple batteries, serpentine belt, fluids, brakes, filters, the list goes on and on. Smartest thing I did was install a remote start the first year. A thing of beauty during winter.

Supply and demand. There is demand for non retard workers , and since there is an entire planet of workers, supply skyrockets. Ergo, the price of labor (wage) comes down.

American wages are still too high and are not following the above. The only reason Americans are poor is because they all believe they should live like millionaires when they aren't and go into debt.
>>
>>60877373
the only country that matters is celebrating labor day. The day george washington's mother went into labor
>>
>>60878859
There's a small issue with your argument, which is the assumption that all workers have similar inherent value.

The reason why American workers command high value is due to the heavy investment into education and training that they receive. Many also pursue higher education and additional training during their job so the labor value of an American worker is highly value added. Americans also value having a wide variety of skillsets, whether by vocation or personal means. Europe is similar in this regard, which is why commerce is fairly cooperative in the larger scheme.

This type of investment is so competitive that the only other alternative that is known to work exists in Asia where not only do they invest even more into education (the children are basically worker bees at this point), but they hyperspecialize into a role for a lifetime, which allows them to have a workforce that works like a machine to an almost hyperefficient level.

This is something that is taken for granted in developed nations, but most other nations cannot afford to do this, and sometimes unwilling to train their workforce, which leads them to only be able to do menial or highly physical labor. There's also cultural and institutional aspects but it doesn't fit into a thread neatly.

Having an entire planet of workers does not add value to the labor force. Certain workers of certain nations are valued significantly more than the rest and it's not appropriate to place someone unqualified for the job into such a place, nor is it appropriate to place qualified people into jobs that underutilize them. It is a very suboptimal solution. Degrading everyone into a number consistently fails to yield good results and most nations that try this are backtracking on this after 20-40 years of watching their nations crash and burn.

About 8.2 billion of them and about 500-800 million are responsible for about 90% of the world's GDP. The productivity disparity is immense.

I am going to do exactly what I said I wouldn't do and degrade people into a number. This means most people are economically worthless. This is the labor force that is incapable of replacing the golden 500-800 million. It is impossible to solve today's problems by throwing bodies at an issue that is quite literally, a skill issue.

>>60878917
Europe is a highly matured economic zone and a highly regulated one at that. They protect their people from destitute ruin, oftentimes to significant cost to the collective. Room for growth is limited unless they become imperialistic again.

The US plays with immense risk and reaps immense reward. You see the winners but not the mountain of dead businesses and dreams that it's built upon. It's detestable to admit but Americans who do not compete fall behind and it's a rough life for them if they aren't constantly clawing their way to the top.

WTF are you on about bobo bud?
Market already dipped 20% earlier this year and we've been breaking higher and higher highs.
Not sure what you see to make you feel we're going lower. Fed is looking to cut and that will pump markets more. I'm sure eventually shit will get ugly but tariff inflation is still in the middle of the supply chain like in PPI rather than in CPI. We won't even really see it in CPI until Q4'25-Q3'26. At least wait to see what the next Fed chair does.

I've mostly stayed neutral but built up cash since the dip instead of buying it.
Not often that I'm not fully bullish and buying the dip, but it certainly feels weird being salty af about recouping all my losses, building up cash earning near 5%, and breaking new highs JUST because I know I'd be up even more if I didn't build any cash at all.

If I could butter up a Schwab advisor to give me options access I would switch to ToS in a heart beat.

Thankfully I’ve found a strategy that I’m quite fond of and have made work on robbing goyim.

>Schwab advisor to give me options access
all you do is fill out a simple online form and within one day you get level 0 options trading, with margin if you request it.

exactly i just closed my long leg of opex week puts and bought friday calls for a slightly higher high. statistically 3 day weekends open higher, so dumping there would be great timing. would just bet on 2% down in a week and then far OTM like 6000 by end of oct. and the short side puts of the spread would be fucked bc of theta

This is one of my favorite paint edits kek. There's another one where, IIRC, a sòyjack meme has been repurposed to make fun of "right-wing conspiracy theorists" and their obsession with the Hunter Biden laptop images. The text caption goes along the lines of
>omg what about Hunter Biden? He's a pedo! I have proof! Look at these inappropriate/illegal photos I have on my phone as proof!
Does anyone remember that one? If laughter is the best medicine then /biz/ and fucking /pol/ have been keeping me alive for many years now. At least the price is right.
