Commodity chads where we at?
>>60916095

>silver, copper, lithium, gold, uranium, oil, water, REEs
I've mentioned it before but I think if there is a big buildout in AI, they need datacenters and things that support them. The picks-and-shovels approach: rather than pick a winner, do a broad basket of things they all need anyways, which is materials and energy.

I aimed for midcap producers - smallcaps are exploratory and possibly nonproducing, while largecaps are diverisifed and less pure play. For each asset, I tried to do a 50:50 mix of producer and spot etfs.

>GLD and GOEX
>SLV and SLVP
>URNM and SRUUF
For uranium in particular, SMR is also a good ticker, small modular reactors in general

>REM, PHO, LIT
For REEs, water, and lithium

>IEO and IEZ
If you look at the macro, it's very similar to the 1980s when Iran sanctioned the US during hard times for their support of Israel during the Yom Kippur war. The current conflict started on the 49th anniversary (7x7) so I feel like things are going to repeat. If they do - IEO gives exposure to largecap DOMESTIC producers with a large standing inventory. IEZ gives exposure to tool suppliers that will see a boom in business when oil wells are restarted.
Even if not, you can't go wrong with energy plays

This just happened today AH with NBIS jumping 40+% and likely more tomorrow with shorts getting squeezed. MSFT investing 16B essentially doubling their market cap. I’m in CRWV unfortunately and didn’t exit on the pre earnings pop but I have faith it will run back up once orders come in.

Thanks for the ticket breakdown. I’ll look more into those. What is your opinion on tankers? I was building a small position I. STNG a few months back and it ran up recently..exited too soon. Similar story with TNK which I have had some luck in the past. Seems like China, India, Russia, Iran, North Korea etc are strengthening relations in the face of tariffs

Anyone here actually work?
Particularly in high tech where AI is disrupting or in the upper/middle of the wholesale supply chain?

I work in the middle of the supply chain and see the slow tariff inflation avalanche coming.
That's why my sold puts are set to expire right before PPI. I think CPI might still be fine but PPI will read higher yet again.

30% chance the cop that shows up is a melanated individual himself and chooses to do nothing about the vibrant culture at play right now.
20% chance a calmer song is playing at the exact moment they show up, and they do nothing because "it's not that bad."
20% chance they let it slide on a technicality such as "akchyually city ordinance says you can only complain about 90 decibels at a distance of 30 yards and my meter is only reading 89.8841"
15% chance they take 2+ hours to swing by for a low-priority issue like this, and the music is off by then.

Idk if you can call it "high tech" but I'm an engineering manager in web development. Me and my boss meet once a month, and every time, we talk about how there's no need to expand the team right now because it's better to just lean more heavily into AI. And I subtly imply that we don't need our mid level engineers anymore because 1 senior engineer / tech arch with an LLM is a faster and better than a tech arch with 5 mid level engineers.
>>
I'm ready to buy the dip and hold

Market is completely tapped right now and fucked beyond belief. Boomers destroyed the market and anyone at a Covid or pre covid rate is locked in at 3% or better and not letting go. 5 years ago the same house selling for 500k @ 6% was 250k @ 3%. Interest rates weren’t even remotely as high as now so explain that fucktard. Prices are only so high right now due to lack of supply and not aligned with reality. Boomers trying to get $1million on their houses and doing 10k price cuts when it sits unsold for 6 months

>>60916251
Cutting rates would increase supply as there would be more sellers willing to let go and can refinance
>>
>>60916267
It's fucking garbage that can't stop hallucinating. The code that it writes never works. I was working on a patent with some outside legal counsel, and the lawyer used an LLM to help draft the patent claims, which caused them to be absolutely full of nonsensical hallucinations that are going to take more time to fix than if he had just written it himself.
>>
>>60916309
Idk what AI you use for code or how you try to use it, but AI is absolutely fucking outstanding for coding, and I say this as a professional software engineer with 9 years of experience. Just like with a human engineer, you need to write the ticket well and make sure all the necessary information is there and have well-defined inputs and outputs expected etc. As long as you do that, it's absolutely outstanding. LLMs are even better at coding than they are at linguistic tasks. The great irony of AI is that it's going to put software engineers out of work more than anyone.
>>
>>60916320
You still need to debug the shit out of AI code, though I admit it saves lots of time on the frontend
>>
>>60916301
im ready to buy UVIX tomorrow
>>
>>60916320
What do you actually use AI for coding-wise? In my teams experience its great for scaffolding things like API endpoints but anything complex it immediately shits the bed or worse, leads you down the wrong path for two hours until you get frustrated and just do it manually.
>>
>>60916306
It would also increase demand. You are beyond delusional if you think the singular simple action of lowering rates is going to fix the catastrophic housing situation in this abject shit heap of a country. Taking an optimistic viewpoint like you, house prices MIGHT drop like 5-10% after the increase in supply and increase in demand settle at their new equilibrium. And that's an absolute best case scenario. The boomers expecting $700k for their 1500 sq ft mcmansion are not going to suddenly settle for $500k or some shit. And after all that, the slight drop in house prices won't even save anyone any money when their other cost of living inflates by 5% a year.
>>
>>60916329
That's kind of funny, my team uses it in the opposite way. We don't use it for scaffolding; it's more like we provide the scaffolding and have it fill in the blanks. Like writing up the method signatures for a couple classes, along with a plain english explanation of what the final result needs to do. For things we think the AI might be more prone to fumble, we'll write the unit tests too and provide those as well. That's exactly why I subtly imply to my boss that we only need tech archs + AI, and no longer need mid level engineers. A human is still best for the technical architecture, but AI is beyond outstanding for filling in the blanks for small to medium chunks of code where it knows the expected inputs and outputs.
>>
>>60916295
Like $200. I've lost that a few times here or there. It's natural to have things like that happen during your first 5 years of trading, the important thing is to not make the same mistake twice. If you can eliminate losses, that's more powerful than chasing wins.

I agree it would increase demand, especially if we do actually end up getting the 2-3 projected cuts and then Trump gets his guy in and they keep cutting. Sure equities and precious metals will continue to ATH but lower house prices/rates through increased demand and supply IE not being “golden handcuffed” to a starter home with a ~2k mortgage would free up a lot of inventory. Not saying the drop will happen overnight but I think it could spur economic activity as a whole if housing (and rent consequently) all started going in the opposite direction. Probably too optimistic for reality and mortgage rates would need to be 5% or lower to see real change
>>
>>60916352
I respect that. The info the shill provided was obviously wrong or faked, so you should not invest in mining if the technical data is that bad. If you want to invest in mining I suggest learning to read/evaluate the technical data to see for yourself what the risk is. The statements by Graeme were flat out fraudulent and I am surprised no one sued him out of existence yet.

Even if they weren't fraudulent, it's good to be able to recognize a PND scam, or people hyping things artificially. A ticker like HGRAF, for example, has a lot of the same patterns, we've already had the peak and sell off ... If it drops back into the 0.50-0.70 range, I might toss $50 at it and forget about it for a few years, but I'm not fomoing into it or anything...

Hey guys, retard here

FIGR and GEMI are both ipoing this week and I'm tired of not getting in on the 2-5x IPO pump and dumps, but I have a question

If FIGR cutoff is on the 10th (0700 EST) , and IPOs on the 11th, and GEMI cutoff is the 11th (1300 EST) and IPOs on the 12th, can I subscribe to FIGR and sell it in the morning before the GEMI cutoff and double dip on the IPO pumps? Or will my funds need to le settle for a whole day if I sell the FIGR IPO when it launches? And how do I even know if I'm going to be allocated shares if I subscribe? The terms are pretty jewy sounding. Should I just go 50/50 on the subscriptions so I at least get one or are these offerings a sure thing once you subscribe?

the official inflation numbers are rigged and constantly readjusted to hide the real inflation. There was a website by a guy name john williams, I think it was shadow stats, where he recalculated the real numbers. you need to use the correct numbers for any models to work correctly (that's how williams got started in his work).

I never bothered with and IPO. Call your broker and ask them if you can get some pre IPO shared assigned. after they stop laughing ask your other questions. I tried placing some orders at market open and due to the massive programmed trading the website does not even work correctly for about 10 minutes so my trades were not going through as the prices were changing quickly. The big firms pay big money for priority so they get their positions filled and sold first. Even if you see your buy/sell limit orders if the moves are too big they might not get filled quickly. Watch how fast the price rips or tanks when the stock starts trading.

I own my house outright and still financed my car. Just get a good rate and it's a win/win, also make sure there's no early payoff penalty if you choose to fully pay it off later.
>buying house was easier to pay cash
>buying car was easier to finance
>car corporate promotional interest rate less than federal funds rate

Cars are a waste of money, but you kind of need one, and if you want to splurge do it, just don't go full retard and buy a big truck or gay luxury brand.

morning dear. that would not happen for many reasons. first of all the car market is much smaller, they are not rated the same as mortgages, there is plenty of high grade credit to go around so even if it were shoved onto balance sheets it would not cause the same dent as the mortgage collapse, and also there is a higher floor because you can melt the cars down and sell them for scrap if worst came to worst. but anyways please watch your language, and when you say things like >>60917413
you really hurt me. that's no way to build trust and love. i hope your day goes well, love you lots.

>The BLS is set to report on Tuesday at 10 am its preliminary estimate of the upcoming benchmark revisions to payroll figures covering the 12-month period ending in March

>No existing monthly data will be updated in today’s release. That will happen in February, when the BLS releases its final benchmark revision to monthly employment from April 2024 to March 2025 based on the QCEW (state unemployment tax records). The BLS also revises data at that time through December 2025 to reflect changes in the birth-death model. Tuesday’s release of the preliminary revision is akin to a “preview” of the changes that will be published in February. The BLS does this every year. It is not new.

>Q: Is this new information for the Fed?

>Not really. It doesn't say anything about job creation since March, per se. And even if it confirms that payroll growth has been overstated, Fed officials have been talking—out loud, in public, in speeches and press conferences—about how the administrative data (from the QCEW program) used for the benchmark process could in fact point to such an outcome. As an example, Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s speech at the Jackson Hole conference last month included a footnote that made the following observation: “In early September, the Bureau of Labor Statistics will publish a preliminary estimate of benchmark revisions to the level of nonfarm payrolls as of March 2025, based on data from the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages. Data available to date suggest that the level of nonfarm payrolls will be revised down materially.”

Priced in.
