Anyone got strong opinions on Volkswagen automotive group?

I was thinking more like a bridging loan with good terms rather than a full bailout, but they're still a long way from needing anything like that. They're still profitable and have enough breadth of brands and models to have a major winner in a couple of weight classes. Keen to see how the new ID line do.

My big worry is Chinese EVs just being better and cheaper than whatever they put out, but I think VAG will put out a solid offering regardless, even if it doesn't win on price.

>>60974335
Yeah this is my main thought, think they are oversold right now so will bounce back 10-15% over the next 6 mo. but ultimately will get cooked alongside BMW & Merc without some serious import tarriffs on e.g. BYD, which might be on the cards to be fair. As I say car manufacturing is a big deal to the German psyche.

>Fed's Bostic sees little reason to cut rates further for now; says risks of weaker employment outcomes have risen, but years of elevated inflation remain a serious concern
They're still going to cut rates to zero for no fucking reason but it's refreshing to see someone showing the slightest hint of sanity. Stocks have averaged 20% a year for an entire fucking decade, even including a pandemic and a 2 year "bear market" in the middle. I don't need my portfolio to retard pump another 10,000%, what I need is some assurance that this entire asset class and this fucking shitheap of a country won't implode before I retire.

morning babe. i hate vaccines too. needles scare me and i can't stand getting them. don't trust doctors either and avoid them. my dad though did have polio, not from the vaccine, real polio. he was in an iron lung for a time, lost the ability to walk and had to relearn. he always praised jonas salk as a hero who saved many lives. so i'm not really sure what to think. bobby kennedy is pro vaccine, but he thinks the schedule is too aggressive and i'm inclined to agree.

This bias leads people to believe they made a good decision because the outcome was favorable, even if they were simply lucky. Conversely, they may believe they made a bad decision because the outcome was poor, even if they had a solid process and were just unlucky.

I was early, I still don't think I'm wrong that's why I've doubled down and I believe November will vindicate my previous mistiming.

For $295M Market cap you are getting $170M revenue annually with $300M assets and $130M equity. It is enormously under-priced at these levels.

Their last earnings were anomalous due to an acquisition, typically they are running at a 90% gross profit margin and 30% net profit margin.

The board have announced that they doubled their buyback scheme from $10M to $20M which accounts for nearly 10% of all shares outstanding.

Time will tell, but I haven't changed my thesis yet.
