The thing is anyone who actually looked into the Thacker Pass mine and how it will operate would see that it is a no brainer, even without GM or Government investment. It's clay not rock ore so they just need a barge to extract it like they do for some types of gold mining.

Not only will the site provide it's own sulfur for the extraction it will produce a saleable surplus. If i remember properly the process is even exothermic so they can produce their own power.

Does /biz/ even look at the Wikipedia page before they throw money at something?

That's because /SMG/ is for casinotards and wannabe daytraders, because talking about long term investment is boring.
>Bitshit, at least, follows its cycle and pumps every 4 years to a blowoff. Expecting it to just suck and bleed out instead of pumping to 150k and then crashing would be the 'it's different this time' thesis.
Most Bitcoin in wallets hasn't moved in over a year.
When people invest in it, it's a long term investment. They don't care about a 10%-50% swing in week or a month because they literally "hodl" for the long term, and it seems to have paid off for them. You're the anomaly if you're complaining about a 2%-4% drop after literally just buying a bitcoin stock.

LAC was entirely predictable, the only real question was the possibility of government investment. Even without it all you had to do was stack shares until it opened, your only gamble was if you would have to wait until 2028 or if it would moon following the government buying a stake.
>>
>>60983638

>>

>That's because /SMG/ is for casinotards and wannabe daytraders, because talking about long term investment is boring.
It is boring and more importantly it's for morons. All you have to do is look at shit like Nvidia going 15x in 3 years to realize the stupid "but muh long term value investing 3% a year" meme has no place here or anywhere- it's a totally dead school of thought pushed by people who think they'll be the next Buffett when even excluding pennyshit you can look at shit like SOXL or LAC or TSLA and realize that there is no point in ever talking about 'value investing' except in a histoical sense.
>>
Today I hit 100k between crypto, stocks and other investments. Most money I've had in my life. I'm 32.
My girlfriend of three years also told me she cheated on me last Thursday right after taking her out to eat at a nice restaurant. I asked her to leave and blocked her number.
My grandma helped her pay for her community college classes this semester, then she spent three times that much to save her cat from a urinary tract blockage last week. I was mad so she went and got blackout drunk and then said she was raped despite actively choosing to put herself in that situation and get drunk around sketchy dudes.
Today I celebrate gaining 100k and losing a bad relationship.

>Proponents of value investing, including Berkshire Hathaway chairman Warren Buffett, have argued that the essence of value investing is buying stocks at less than their intrinsic value.
Last month, buying silver miners was value investing. Intel and Snap were value investing last week. Maybe they still are. The velocity is higher, the markets are more dynamic, but the idea remains the same.
>>
>>60983757
so you make $490 if OTM, and an additional $24,584 if ITM. What are you afraid of, you can make some great money on the price appreciation and a little extra from the premium. No one started looking at rare earth/Lithium stocks after the MP minerals deal and Trump said that they were going to do more deals like that? Seems like a no brain move.

>>60983765
Who the hell tries to short a long term Lithium project that might at any moment get major government investment and/or moon the instant China goes after Taiwan?

>>60983766
It was literally the first stock investment i've ever made. I saw the MP minerals deal and looked for the next one, a few hours of basic research told me it would be a good long term investment. I was going to plug away at it until it opened in 2028 but then Trump announced the government investment right after market close.

Before that i figured it was safe since GM plans for it to be their exclusive supplier for their EV batteries and dumped $450 million into it. Seemed like a decent and safe first investment.

I'm a total newbie but this just seems like basic research.

the same people who sell calls, covered or not it's picking up pennies in front of a steamroller, the only difference is at least the loss is capped for the person who sells covered calls vs naked

when a company has to dilute to stay alive, consistent cashburn, then stock price will generally trend downwards in the absence of news/development

True but the basic technology to extract minerals from clay deposits is well developed and the parent company is really good at it. They extract sulfur/asphalt/aggregate from the Alberta tar sands for instance. The site also produces it's own power by making the Sulfuric acid on site.

A big deal is that GM trusts it enough to make it their exclusive supplier as part of a multi billion dollar loan by the Biden administration, combined with it being a massive strategic resource makes it very attractive as a long term investment. It would be a good buy before todays announcement, Trump just made alot of early investors VERY rich while kinda screwing people who wanted to accumulate the stock over the next few years.

>>60983871
Now see, i understood almost nothing you just said and i suspect the people shorting it don't either. Neither them nor me should be be doing it, which seems like common sense but apparently not.

>>60983890
MP was because it was in the news when the DoD bought a 10% stake, i just started searching for strategic mineral operations in the US. I searched, made a list and started reading their wiki pages. LAC stood out so i read all the citations on their wiki page, noted the GM connection and thought 'hey these guys have 20% of the planets proven lithium reserves on US soil, i bet that place will become important some day'

I'm also looking into other things that will skyrocket when (not if) the US and China go to war.

One thing that is of interest in that area: gypsum. The US has plenty but it's cheaper to get it from china. When the war starts burgers will still need drywall and crop amendments so US gypsum stocks will jump massively.

they have positive cashflows but their balance sheet is garbage so mixed on that, im guessing they had some weird depreciation or some other non cash expense because it says they had a loss TTM but their EBITDA is +$100m
they have no growth, their revenue has been flat

frankly looking back beyond 5 years is meaningless if a company is turning around and hitting an inflection point, if they're going to start spiking then it's probably because they're not the same company they were 5+ years ago

i just bought pic related, if you had bought in 2004 then you'd only be up +15% and you'd have been fucked by inflation and opportunity cost
that's completely irrelevant because im buying in 2025 not 2004, and the company and their financials look completely different to even 5 years ago never mind 20 years ago

wat does ur chart's actual financials look like in comparison

remember, pic related is only a 31 million market cap, they make more revenues (low gross margins but actual operating expenses are also relatively low regardless) than their market cap and theyve shown they can cut down their # of outstanding in shares in half before (i.e. if they repeat the same thing again, the company can have no business growth and stay at 31m market cap but the stock price would go to $4 from $2)
they have share buybacks in place but the stock is so illiquid they prob cant even buy back shares, even for me it took like ~4 hours to get a buy order of 10k shares filled, thats ike $20k and it took ~4 hours at market price to fill

The short play is that they took on a fuckload of debt to keep the company afloat during the pandemic (BAD) but they also let their pension fund managers run wild and do whatever they wanted for the last five years, which resulted in their employee pension fund being overfunded by like $700m (GOOD). They're in the process of offloading their pension plan to a third party so they can fulfill their pension obligations but also use the extra cash to pay down all of their debt. The deal is signed and the ink is dry, but they don't get access to the money until December. Because their debt is coming due, and because they don't have access to the money yet, their quarterly reports consistently make it look like they're months away from bankruptcy even though they're definitely not. After December, I expect a nice 20%+ hike in the stock when they finally correct their balance sheet.

The long play is that the pharma manufacturing business that they announced during covid (see the big spike in the chart around 2020) is finally starting to produce pharmaceutical precursors, which is an extremely valuable business in the current political climate. This is much less certain than the short term pump, but I'm bullish because I'm retarded

which sub sector - upstream, midstream (pipelines or tankers), downstream, oil services? Are you looking at large, mid, or small companies? LB signed a deal with NRG and LB plans to lease to data centers in Texas near the Waha gas hub, so gas producers in that area may have chance to lock in deals to supply energy generation in that area for data centers, but it will take time to develop. Look into who is producing gas in that area and who owns the pipelines and Waha hub. LB owns the land and will supply the water for cooling, also LB just formed a new company call EnergyBridge and I think they are planning to IPO it.

You can't flipflop like this, knowing that the factors that are responsible for slow jobgrowth are political policies which even got worse now with the 100k H1B. It's like Trump realized he can just force the Fed with policies that are laborrelated.

This shit is just all over the place, their projections are worthless and their members are not independent and it will become worse.

you have to do the work to filter garbage out if you want to do better than SPY

it's not like any of us here are in 8 or 9 digit hell. Those people cannot buy pennyscams like Biorem even if they wanted to. It took me 4 hours to get a $20K buy order filled, for anyone who already made it, they're not gonna give a shit about 2x'ing on Biorem because they wouldn't be able to put even 0.1% of their portfolio into it. Thats why if you filter pennyscams enough, you can find 1 decent mispriced business every 50 tickers or something

i have 6 and im going to cut it down to 4-5 soon because it's too much work monitoring 6+ companies, im just gonna put the rest into SPY or cash later on when SPY has cooled down (if it never does then ill just concentrate my bets more and risk it)

>being in a relationship before the age of 35
Why?
Why would you do this?
You have access to all the sex you require via apps thanks to their sexual revolution.
A man doesn't need a relationship. If you're religious sure, but then you aren't having sex.

Anyway brother I am glad that you offloaded a depreciating asset but think twice before jumping into the next one. I've had this happen to 3/5 close coworkers over the past 6 months. Paying off student loans, cosigning for cars, paying their rent, and still cheating. None of these guys were ugly, they're chads or borderline chads. They made good money. At that age, girls simply aren't interested in maintaining commitment, yet are the ones who always push it.

It doesn't benefit you at all brother.

I am glad you are stacking up gains in any case. Good luck.

>SM literally raised eyebrow, 2 managers in back looking at each other worried and said "Huh yeah that is strange...." and walked out, one of them muttered "We are so screwed"
>Asked around several departments today
>Freight team buddy confirmed this year we got quite a lot less seasonal shit like Halloween and Christmas products, over 40%(!?!) reduction compared to 2024
>Electric buddy told me that a bunch of lightbulbs, wires and solar panels are not in stock and won't be for MONTHS due to tariffs shit, like Christmas lights made in Cambodia
>Plumbing buddy told me a shitload of parts like gas valves have a fucking 20 WEEK DELAY and entire shelves/bays have been empty for few weeks now
>Lumber buddy suspects prices of wood, roofing and even concrete will rise like they did during Covid
>Already rumors circling that DIY stores like Home Depot, Lowes and Ace Hardware will have to do layoffs later this year and next year if sales get worse
>Reputable family of Indians that work as handymen and customers loved are frustrated, cannot get enough gigs and customers keep canceling appointments for last 3 months
>Contractors had to send back shit like pipes, lights, tiles, etc. because projects keep getting canceled by their companies
>Some concrete masons at our store told us they got laid off among few dozen others, construction nearby is 'frozen'
>Cute mexican vendor told me Burpee and Kawahara nursery are 'kinda worried' about next year, Smart Planet vendor threw away more plants than what sold, and Bonnie vendor is PISSED that 80% of vegetables/herbs didn't get bought this year around district

Yeah its getting ugly

>On the heels of Nvidia’s $100 billion investment in OpenAI, two research notes out today suggest the current boom in AI may be unsustainable.
>“AI machines—in quite a literal sense—appear to be saving the U.S. economy right now,” George Saravelos of Deutsche Bank wrote to clients. “In the absence of tech-related spending, the U.S. would be close to, or in, recession this year.”
>Separately, Bain & Co.’s annual global technology report says that AI won’t be able to generate enough revenue to sustain the computing power it needs to build. “Two trillion dollars in annual revenue is what’s needed to fund computing power needed to meet anticipated AI demand by 2030. However, even with AI-related savings, the world is still $800 billion short to keep pace with demand,” the report says.
>Whatever the number is, it is so massive that it’s boosting GDP, Deutsche’s Saravelos said: “It may not be an exaggeration to write that NVIDIA—the key supplier of capital goods for the AI investment cycle—is currently carrying the weight of U.S. economic growth. The bad news is that in order for the tech cycle to continue contributing to GDP growth, capital investment needs to remain parabolic. This is highly unlikely.”
Thoughts? I kind of agree with them but then again if there isn´t AI spend then what will they spend their capital on?

Hello /smg/, I have a question.
How much of your portfolios are in NGRRRVDA? For me, it's 7.3%
>>
Can someone explain to me why a company with 700 million in assets, no operations, no revenue, which loses 75 million dollars a year trades for 21 billion dollars? I thought the market was supposed to be efficient and shit?

Yes, thank you for asking: the dollar is becoming worthless toilet paper thanks to reckless fiscal policy, and precious metals and precious metal accessories are a safe haven from hyperstagflation. Remember to smash that like button and subscribe to my channel if you found this post helpful.

GM eurofags. This does not mean "good morning".

It's time. I previously sold at 2nd ATL, but now I will wait for Porsche to hit 41,5, maybe 42€. then I will go All-In and short them into the ground.

It's either me or the Porsche/VW CEO sleeping under a bridge in a months time.

Anyone here researched THO? At first looks it looks very attractive. They make RVs. It's a very cyclical buisness but even during lower demand cycles they are still highly cashflow generative. Trades at a 25 PE. Pretty solid balance sheet. With interest rates coming down and loads of wealthy boomers getting ready to retire it might be a good time to buy. ROIC isn't anything incredible but that's not unusual for cyclical companies. They also return capital to shareholders via dividends and share buybacks.

Printing money, until now, has disproportionately inflated asset prices, making the P in P/E go up faster. Shit will get bad as E starts to inflate too. Buy precious metals and precious metal accessories to save yourself.

"we are about to collapse" kind of videos are the perfect clickbait slop content. The collapse is surely coming at some point, but who the fuck knows WHEN it's going to happen, and we probably still have 1 or 2 years of tech AI bullshit until it explodes, just like what happened in the dot com era. Rate cuts favour the small caps because they dont really have infinite money to boost their businesses, so borrowing for them is way more important, specially if they are not even profitable yet. Just dont feed these jewtubers

So you got mad at her because she wanted to save her cat’s life? I’m getting some major ick vibes here. Try to be more compassionate and understanding during your next relationship.

Also, get back to us when you get to a milli, 100k is nothing to brag about with the big boys on /biz/
