So FNMA used to be private, they were bailed out by gvt which became a major prefered shareholder and now the question is if the gvt wants to dump the shares to the public and retain some ownership for milking? The risk for retail is that they could get wiped or diluted which i doubt greatly since the major contributor to trumps campaign was pershing square which holds 10% of it and some other billionaires? At current price od 13$ this seems like a risky investment, especially after the 900% run it had last year but if it gets listed in nasdaq, included in s&p etc. its at least a x5 on the long run probably even more. There is very little chance that IPO will not happen, they are even trying to push the date earlier than spring 2026 to late 2025.
