Its a handful of highly evaluated mega caps that drag up the cape and their earnings are probably somewhat justified because they are indeed making a ton of money and likely will continue as long as capital is going towards investments in ai infrastructure
the leading question is the end user demand once the infrastructure is in place, will there be a market to absorb the output? is there a fit between cap investments and end user adaption? i think thats where bobo will enter frame, if he does
margins will improve for many companies and thats boosting the positive outlook short/medium term, but the tech has still to integrate and settle in the overall market and society as a whole
right now the macros just dont look healthy enough to support the instant adaption of ai, we dont even know how it will impact labor market, and how this in turn might impact purchasing power i.e.
young people are living with their parents at a rate greater than the great depression, inflation, stagflation risk, wars, etc
anyone is looking at this chart thinking "i think there is room left to run" mixed with some fomo about an uncertain multiple that some say is grossly understated and others the opposite, but the sentiment can change with a single headline
i think the market is a bit docile right now, there is an appearance of calm waters but it feels deceptive

A NECESSARY PRUNING
October 04
. . . we know that the pains of drinking had to come before sobriety, and emotional turmoil before serenity.

TWELVE STEPS AND TWELVE TRADITIONS, p. 94

I love spending time in my garden feeding and pruning my beautiful flowers. One day, as I was busily snipping away, a neighbor stopped by. She commented, "Oh! Your plants are so beautiful, it seems such a shame to cut them back." I replied, "I know how you feel, but the excess must be removed so they can grow stronger and healthier." Later I thought that perhaps my plants feel pain, but God and I know it's part of the plan and I've seen the results. I was quickly reminded of my precious A.A. program and how we all grow through pain. I ask God to prune me when it's time, so I can grow.

Let go of your problem branches anon, and let yourself grow into the investor your God of your choosing wants you to be.

That's a question that has a lot of layers. Are you asking much money you need in stocks/bonds/real estate? Or are you asking how (You) personally need?

You need to determine how much annual income you'll need in retirement. No one can answer that for you. Then you need to figure what you consider to be your safe withdrawal rate (usually 4% to 7%). How much money you need will be based on that withdrawal rate and your desired income. You also have to factor in whether you aim to draw to $0, have the portfolio stay the same, or still grow in retirement. You'll need more money for each of those.
>>
>>61039701
dude lol dont get b8'd
also he's right lol
>>
>>61039778
Figure out how much money you need to live on and multiply that by 25, since the highest-yield safe dividend stocks that don't bleed in value are all pretty much between the 4% - 5% range and it's best to low-ball the expected yields. For example, if you need $50,000 to live, you'd need $1.25 million.

Trump wants to do stimulus again, $2000 to taxpayers.

$2000 ain't shit now compared to 2020. Are we slow walking into some UBI bullshit? Economy has to be much worse if they keep delaying jobs reports and shit.
>>
>>61040223
Investing is much better than day trading. To meet the IRs definition of day trader you are supposed to have 4 transactions per day 4 days per week, but this will lose you money. Sometimes you need to just sit and wait for the right opportunities, then invest the gains into something that is stable and a little in some stocks with rip potential to amplify gains.
>>
>>61040430
No its a bribe for the 2026 midterms because hes polling awfully on the economy and tariffs

People have learned now that tariffs are essentially a tax, and are partially to blame for why everything is so expensive, trump now wants to issue a "tariff refund/stimulus" to boost his economy numbers before the midterms but its not going to work because this is will make inflation even worse and healthcare is going to double overnight regardless

Implement a retarded sales tax, tell people its a stimulus when in reality you just stole money from people with import fees and want to use it to bribe for votes which in turn, just continues to raise inflation.
From an economic standpoint, the GOP is fucking retarded.

Take that 2000 if its real (lmao) and stick in gold or silver. Sounds about as real as elons DOGE "refunds" (doge lost a large amount of wemoney existing compared to its cuts)

>Are you recommending dip buying or vibe trading brother
I miss typed, I meant "do not force trades." You have to review companies to see what is a good company to invest in, and at what price. If its a good company and the stock is tanking then buy some. If the price is too high just wait, don't chase it. Government money and private money is pouring into tech and space stocks, for now, so tech is a good place to make some money, but nothing lasts forever. Always be ready to sell and lock in gains. You may need to wait weeks, months, a year or two. Also have some long term holds for steady growth - mostly ETFs and maybe a few individual stocks.

roaring kitty was worth a billion briefly in 2024 solely based off GME calls. I think he's worth about 400 mil now. There have been a few other investor but generally they shut it down and reverse trades when a random retail trader wins

i was actually thinking of him too since smg used to frequent his streams before he got too big lmao
but he's not a daytrader, far from it, his stream became was just reaffirming the gme play

like he'd also look into energy shit too based on fundamentals/valuation but ultimately the streams ended up being hours of gme wanking 2 times a week
didnt learn much from the streams but we all made good money somehow

Nah I'm a different anon. I have a coworker who is a ridiculously committed BTC shill and (mostly) as a bit I decided to pick the most retarded sounding stock I could think of (Kodak) and see if I could beat his returns by end of year.

Then I learned all the shit about the pension plan stuff and the restructuring and the investment in pharma and battery precursor manufacturing and I convinced myself that it was actually a decent investment.

Then I thought it would be fun to be an obnoxious jackass about it on /smg/, so here I am. Please enjoy this real life IRL not-ai BPD millennial goth girl for the purposes of post engagement.

It's relatively easy to get "normie rich" (a few tens of millions, maybe $100m) day trading with enough commitment and a little luck but anything beyond that is very difficult because the volumes of stock you need to trade to appreciably increase your holdings start having unintended effects on the stock price. Besides, once you have a couple tens of millions of dollars you can basically have anything a normal person could possibly want. It's much easier to buy four car dealerships or whatever than it is to keep grinding for more money that you can't do anything with.

if you live in the US and dont have any chronic health problems and are okay living like an impoverished NEET with no gf you could probably skate by with 400k in divvy stocks as an absolute bare minimum if you lived in somewhere where insanely low cost of living like bumsfuck-ville north dakota in a 1 bedroom apartment

do not recommend this though because if you ever had a chronic health condition or needed to get back into the job market you would be kinda screwed.

ideally you want like 2 milly to have enough breathing room to comfortably retire and never have to worry, this would yield you a comfy suburban life. you could make do with 1 milly if you wanted to live like an impoverished NEET in a 1 bedroom apartment in a low COA area, in my opinion

Robbinthehood is giving you a .5% bonus for 60 days on Robinhood gold if you transfer in something like 11-12k and I can get about 20-30k moved into that account, if things worked out as they should in my head I could get that and then swing somewhere else like NWFCU (5% APY for less than 25k) or Webull (4% plus another 3.75%) and just hold it there and rack up the passive incomes while, hopefully, I would outperform the meme market and triple my money or more by EOY so I can finally go to the store and buy some cheese I wanted in 2022 but felt too poor to buy.

I would like some thoughts on my theory, I think it's pretty accurate

the blue chips can't fail, I don't mean the banks, although you can rope them in, but the blue chip american companies can't be allowed to fail for the investors (banks)

because the only way banks can make money is if the stock market only goes up

so basically everything other than some of the banks can't fail

like coca cola, mcdonalds, amazon, walmart, they literally can't lose in any scenario other than complete collapse of america

and if america completely collapses I have a shotgun and a pistol

basically another version of stocks only can go up because if they don't then everyone who is rich has to actually fight for their lives in mortal kombat, but they can't allow that so the absurdity of the printing can never end

Aight, AI will eventually kill more jobs than it will create. This will free up more people to do the fewer jobs that remain which will be more manual/personal in nature, so the net effect will be positive on society as we will now work much fewer hours and leverage the lack of income i.e. demand with the exponential productivity gains from ai as purchasing power from lowered production costs
But the schumpetarian process to get there will be extremely painful
i predict a declining sp500 for at least 10 years to absorb the capex captail crunch this shift implies
there is a scenario that money as we know it will not survive crossing the event horizon
so buy gold

You stupid motherfuckers
Hagmaxxing is very delicate.
You need to never acknowledge the age difference until they do, and then somehow rationalize it in a way that doesnt scare them off. If you downplay it they never believe you, if you try and completely ignore it they dont take you seriously.
You think this genius strategy of making them think I wasnt actually looking for old hags specifically is easy to execute???
By the end they're begging you to breed them, as you can see.
You're too autistic to understand how to charm a woman 20 years older than you.
Even getting them to reply is genuinely hard since their stupid hag brains dont understand that they NEED young cock, not some limp 60 year old that can't keep up with their insane sex drives.
They usually have a filter set so they can't see you.
If she's not at least 5 years older than me I'm straight up not interested.
You dumb faggot.
Can you even fathom what's really being said here?
Upgrading from being an aunt?
Meaning I want to make her a mom. Meaning 5+ hours of breeding no pull out pounding daily to get that old womb working again.

I guess its part of the whole "don't bite more than you can chew" idea the movie portrays. Immediately going for the high maintenance bimbo before he even made it.

YESTERDAY'S BAGGAGE
October 05
For the wise have always known that no one can make much of his life until self-searching becomes a regular habit, until he is able to admit and accept what he finds, and until he patiently and persistently tries to correct what is wrong.

TWELVE STEPS AND TWELVE TRADITIONS, p. 88

I have more than enough to handle today, without dragging along yesterday's baggage too. I must balance today's books, if I am to have a chance tomorrow. So I ask myself if I have erred and how I can avoid repeating that particular behavior. Did I hurt anyone, did I help anyone, and why? Some of today is bound to spill over into tomorrow, but most of it need not if I make an honest daily inventory.

Take an honest personal inventory anon. Let your past trades stay in the past and be a trader mindful of the present. Be present to build a strong future. Stick to your plan and see it through. Don't hurt yourself dwelling in the past, but help yourself grow into a trader who is honest about his feelings and actions.

dca is the way people should start to trade on leverage.
it ensures month to month survival. most leveraged traders lose it all pretty quickly. even those who make it in the end.
so the options traders here should dca into themselves.
dont use all the capital, just a part of it. then next month you can come again and play, the other guy is down -10k.

if novice traders would DCA they wouldnt fall into the 90/90/90 rule, where 90% of traders lose 90% of their capital within the first 90 days.

God, you yieldmaxxers are so insufferable. If it was profitable, everyone would be doing it. Enjoy being used as exit liquidity when they pull the rug. Also, enjoy paying 30% taxes on the dividends youve already made.

It's obvious we're going to experience a massive crash anytime soon, the AI bubble is going to explode, I just started investing in stocks but wouldn't that be smarter to buy cryptos instead and wait for the storm to pass?

NEOs funds are tax efficient compared to most.
Everyone is doing it, you're the only retard not.
Retards that bought the last BTC top bagheld for basically the entire summer in the red, here you get a dollar a share divvy
Literally just put 10k and watch it snowball massively as long as btc is over 100k

Its not a common thing so they dont go seeking it, you have to find them.
I'm bullish on hags.
Mind you a hag is not a single mom. Maybe thats why you're so confused.
Hags are 35+, never been married and childless. Basically women that fell for the career meme
>>61043970
Fool if you had any standards you would exclusively go for hags.

September was my greatest month in tech stocks. Daily gains were $7k, then $9k, then $11k and surged to $17k in one day. I started cutting back because I did not think this could continue. If you missed out on September you really missed out.

>explain UUUU to me?
Its a pump because of the hype about modular fission reactors to power AI. Reality is it takes on average 10 years to get a permit to build anything, then another 10 years to build with massive cost overruns. Buy the hype, sell the news.
