If you are a bull and you finally recognize that you are in a bear market you're likely down much a lot more than today. I don't care about these dips and ups, not for the long term. I feel like stocks and PMs are overpriced but at the same time, you can't even be sure if fleeing to bonds is safe considering that inflation might go up.

Isn't mstz a leveraged short etf?
>>
>>61113185
If you're a long term bull but for some reason believe you have identified the top, then yeah, standard procedure would be to sell some of your holdings right now and free up 25-50% of your cash, and start gradually DCA'ing when the market has pulled back 5%. Beyond that, there isn't much more you can do other than open an actual short position, maybe enter the short side of an S&P futures contract for optimal tax implications. All that said, it's pretty much statistically impossible to enter a bear market when the fed is lowering rates, so keep that in mind.

>The S&P 500 has had an average of 8% annual yield for over the last 100 or so years
Actually it's 6.5%, it went 557x since October 1925 and 557^0.01 = 1.065

So over the last 100 years
S&P 500: 6.5% p.a.
Nominal GDP: 6.0% p.a.
CPI: 2.95% p.a.

So the S&P 500 barely outperformed the GDP. But you think you're gonna get 8% of S&P 500 growth ("guaranteed", lmao) which works out to 4.66x over the next 20 years while the nominal GDP is growing by around 4%?

It doesn't take a lot of money to move the market, especially if Wall Street is happy to let them do so. Retail traders overwhelmingly use market orders. If the market makers let the orders fill at the ask over and over, and thousands of retail traders are placing thousands of orders, it absolutely will move the market.
