In a speculative pump and dump like this, mathematically, 80% of people lose money, because volume increases parabolically as the price increases. It's a game of hot potato, and a huge proportion of people who bought above, let's say, approximately $6, are holding the bag. Volume past $6 was fucking huge, mind you.

>>
>>61179028
>Uh...yeah? That's how it works. You don't seriously think you can get 8x returns consistently in 2025, do you?
i never said 8x but given a decent failure rate might be 1 in 4 maybe a bit more frequently, you prob want plays with a ceiling at least 3x to make up for the plays that fizzle out

granted, a "plain" 2x is good if your risk-reward is good enough you could go >50% of your portfolio on the play. Could you do that with 3x leverage?
>>
>>61179060
>I made like $400 but I could have easily made 1k
if it makes you feel better, that kinda money is meanigless

thats why you need plays where risk-reward is good enough that you can put 5-figs or even 6-figs into the play
gambling and 2x'ing $1K on a coinflip hardly matters over getting a +30% return on $500K (=$150K) in a year
>>
>>61179067
100% of my portfolio is in this play. This is my hail merry.
I am predicting a bleed in the market as rates are cut (if you know you know).

you've been here long enough to see how value traps like RYCEY go 10x after going sideways for like 2 years
i mean if ur right on a 2x within a 6 month timeframe then that's also impressive, then you can rotate into whatever

im a bit more conservative (??) and my 3x plays are with a timeframe by end of 2027

>>61179105
i'm reaching the point where i could just buy a place without a mortgage and fuck off for awhile, maybe work for a bit longer just automating into an index ETF

i think ur right that i might still go back but prob 80% index ETF at that point. Right now i am 0% index ETF because of what it means to buy an index ETF right now, exposed to the whole market when i can stay in stocks that can still 3x and are more defensive in nature against a tech crash
i just bought more of an infrastructure stock today lmao (Cematrix sicne theyre cheap, they make specialized cement and have a partnership with Lafarge = so that checks off my third-party giant vouching for them on top of cheap valuation + cash generating)

>>

My mental game was off. I missed two chances to become worth millions, not because I was wrong, but because I sold early. I have come to terms with it and I'm back and ready for round 2.

You CAN, but man the decay...what if this takes longer than I expect? Can you imagine being correct but still losing money because of the leverage? 3x is enough for me, I think.
>>
>>61179168
>Are there people here who actually put tens of thousands into stocks? What's even the point if you have that much fucking money to invest that you can comfortably make lofty investments like that??
because buying SPY index fund right now means buying Nvidia, Oracle, Tesla, etc

time in market > timing is only true for most people because they buy stocks like they buy lotto tickets, instead of putting the same effort in picking companies the same way someone here would dump hours brainstorming in building a new PC to save $100 meanwhile they FOMO BYND with just 5 minutes of thinking because they thought of it as a lotto ticket instead of considering the underlying company beneaht the ticker

yes you can make money by gambling, but longterm fundamentals will always show in the price. Even something like Apple is ultimately only growing with a 20% CAGR when you consider timeframes over 20 years, stock prices shooting up has its limits, it is eventually restrained by the underlying company and liquidity of money
anyone who would say otherwise probably failed to recognize how to watch out for value traps
>>
>>61179180
That's what the 8k cash collecting 4% is for - if it takes longer that means stocks will have gone up in the meantime and if stocks and bonds drop at the same time I can just reallocate when we get to that point, it's hard for me to see a loss over 50% happening that wouldn't be offset by my other ETFs or cash holdings.
>>
>>61179173
you're into bonds if you hadnt taken a break you might have hopped on the small JXN bandwagon in smg awhile back lmao

was a 2x, or even 3x if you were confident enough and udnerstood the business (i fucked off after 2x since i didnt actually understand the nature of their hedges on interest rates when they sell their annuities) albeit there was a pretty turbulent wait period given what macro was like back then

>>
>>61179226
The fact that a company like IBM, a dinosaur led by some pajeet shareholder slave, has a P/E above 50 is a really bearish sign.

This bubble has gone on for long enough.
>>
>>61179219
i stay away from big companies, i may as well just buy an index ETF at that point -> you're competing against so many wallstreet analysts

i have my money in illiquid cash-generating shit that institutions cant get into, very little if any analyst coverage, it may take weeks to slowly build your position and you cannot exit in panic (meaning you need to make sure it's not a shitco in the first place) but once liquidity comes in with institutions buying in, because you know gold is expensive and megacaps are expensive but they still have excess cash = rising tide raises all boats.
but i mean if you had to ask me what megacap to buy, i might start looking into Gartner (IT) stock which has basically declined out of fears of ai taking over its business
so i mean lol if ur not 100% bullish on ai and believe it's overhyped then Gartner stock (19 billion market cap right now) might be an opportunity, it's a stretch to 2x though off it since it's already a 19 billion market cap
>>
>>61179226
Since the 90s
>>
>>61179257
*largecap
Gartner is far from a megacap obviously

my holdings are full of pennyscam that are waiting for institutions to rush for the value low hanging fruit once everything else is too expensive

illiquidity is a good reason for a stock to be cheap, rather than it being "cheap" with a "low PE ratio" but on a big company theres usually a bad reason for why it's cheap (i.e. declining business), meanwhile with pennyscams you can have cash-generating GROWING companies with tailwinds and still be cheap purely because of liquidity so they stay mispriced until it hits an inflection point and go through institutional discovery
it's where retail shareholder somehow holds the advantage

hard to explain in just 1 post but the main point is:
ive stuck with it long enough to go through a few cycles of euphoria and grief, and i have it on record as a reminder to myself
it's easy to say be fearful when others are greedy until you actually go through it yourself, and actually putting it into writing helps you learn fast. I enjoyed my euphoria this year too but I made sure to hedge regardless because grief cycles back eventually

i have 25% cash position now when previously id be very stupid and be very allergic to cash. I also put i to record my previous mistakes so im less likely to repeat them again
it remains to be proven but id like to see how my plays end up in hindsight vs what i wrote down given the information i have at hand right now

now im just accumulating and eventually will have like a 6 month break again, besides gsi everything else was just entered within the past few months

I turned 30 in August and I'm fine. As long you have actual goals and are making progress towards them you're fine. I said this in another thread but remember: a good relationship is better than being single, but being single is way better than being in a bad relationship.

>>
>>61180049
I don't really think that's true desu. A lot of people are codependent and just not happy being single. Or their relationship is the thing that really brought them out of a dark place. And there's people who are the exact opposite who are happy when they're single and every relationship seems to only make things worse for them. I get why people say that, but I don't believe psychology is a legitimate field.

>>61180313
>can you just deal with as long as possible?
I agree with my specialist that long term, there are risks of UTIs and kidney problems. If I have surgery, I'd want it to be when I'm young, but not too young, since it can have complications and diminishing returns

See, a fistula is a tunnel. In this case, between my bowel and bladder. The actual passage of some waste when I piss isnt a problem, its the pain of having waste in my gut, passing it, or gut contractions. After I take a shit, a small amount plugs the fistula for potentially a few hours. Its like walking around with the feeling of internal bruising, grinding, and a paper cut. It felt pretty benign but this year brought on a ton of pain, some days I cant even stand upright

I dont want to sound like I'm whining, but it is what it is and I take it a day at a time

Morning BYNDbros. I barely slept because of yesterday. Will it go bellow 3 today? At this point, if i still sell at 3+ i'm good. But i worry it will dip pre-market.

Bagholders have their own general. You can also split it with GME and BedBathandBeyond if you'd like.
>>
I didn't pay much attention to the stock market and this general the past few days. Why did this fake meat company ever pump so high to begin with? I get it that there's no need for any fundamentals for something to become a meme stock, but GME, AMC, BBBY etc all at least had some neat little theory behind why they would go up. Beyond Meat is literally just some shitty vegan brand that makes fake meat.

Did someone look through Nokia's earnings and can help me make any sense of them? Don't know if they are good or bad, I only ever analysed consumer goods and industrial companies before.

Certainly better than the previous report, which had basically flat sales, lower operating margins and lower guidance.

Maybe this is another dumb post but I just check a company's P/E and everything else doesn't matter
>>
>>61180696
What do you mean? Would you buy Palantir with 580x P/E or stay away? I feel like there are many better indicators of company's wellbeing.
>>
>>61180706
I've been told to buy high sell low so of course higher P/E is better

No sorry, of course lower P/E is better
I mean when it comes to actual statistics I think P/E is extremely efficient

p/e is useless. it gives you zero timing.

it can be high and go higher. it can be low and go lower.

Are you the guy that FOMOd the rare earth zeptotop?
>>
>>61180696
kek that's like the worst one. low P/E stocks are in sectors that don't make any money. I just look at market cap.
>>
>>61180813
