Tariffs on or tariffs off,
The market gives a jolly scoff!
Auto lenders start to fail?
Still we climb without a wail!
Economy begins to slow?
Up and up and UP we go!
Inflation’s rising, prices soar?
We just keep climbing more and more!
Bad news here and bad news there,
The market doesn’t seem to care!
Red flags wave and sirens blare,
But stocks keep floating through the air!
Nothing matters, don’t you see?
Up we bounce so wild and free!
Like a clown on a trampoline high,
We just bounce up to the sky!
Honk honk! goes the market horn,
Through every crisis, every storm—
Round and round the logic bends,
UP AND UP this madness sends!
HONk Honk HooooooNNNK!

remember that in an euphoric bull market, the chances of any negative outcome occurring (i.e. 100% tariffs on china) are priced at 0, and when the negative outcome does occur, its effects are then assumed to be negligible

I have seen the research on 4% withdrawal rate for 30 years, or 2.7% withdrawal rate forever. I'm just going to stick with 3% and hope for the best. That's $30k a year for every $1m.

So my goal is:
- a fully paid off house
- enough money in the portfolio to support a decent lifestyle

I think about $2m would do it because I will inherit some real estate and I will also get a government pension eventually. I also live in a relatively poorer country.

I didn't have a lot of money to invest but I bought five shares of Rocket Lab a couple years ago and managed to sell it for a 1400% gain. Not bad right?
So I sold for about $350 due to a financial emergency and now I have $300 left to reinvest. I would prefer to be able to buy a larger quantity of stocks so that I can really enjoy cashing out but I don't have any more capital.
I've been researching everything I can for about three days using the same philosophies that drove me to invest in Rocket Lab. As far as I can tell right now, the best company for me to invest in is Redwire and that's probably what I'll do.
I know I'm supposed to diversify but I only have $300 so I can't.
I'm also considering an investment in Astra Exploration because they are claiming to have found the next big mineral deposit. I'm a little fishy about that because it seems like they're dragging their feet with feasibility tests or stuff like that but if it's big it'll be big.
Somebody in this thread mentioned Mobix so I looked them up. I'm very naive and new to this but my instinct tells me that if that company isn't dying then it should be work a thousand times more in a couple years. But why is the price that low to begin with? I don't even know. So don't listen to. I don't know how stocks work and I don't diversify, I just have a perfect batting record of 1400% profit because I got lucky on my first bet.
But why you invest in the company that makes the tank when you could invest in the company that makes the bolt they use to hold the tank together? You know?
Why invest in satellites when you could invest in the propulsion system that gets the satellites up there in the first place (Rocket Lab)? Why invest in gold when you could invest in the gold mine?
I haven't reinvested anything yet but I do think Redwire is checking the most boxes for what I'm looking for.

I would think that you would have to put the stop loss a considerable amount lower than when you were thinking of selling at that moment (depending on your volatility) for it too work because it could kiss the stop loss and run up anyways

If Tariffs are not causing inflation like Hassett said today, why is is the CPI at 3,0% then? To make it worse, the Fed is actively trying to figure out if the inflation is tariffdriven. But if it's not tariffdriven, then 3,0% sounds not so good considering 3,0% was the highest number this year.

leveragemaxxing is the name of the game, and is actively rewarded by the system of modern clown world fiat economics
lots of people think they're wealthier than they really are because of this, and over inflate their lifestyles, especially with monthly subscriptions/loan payments
hell the government got in on this game too, and has been running major deficits outside of recessions that put our finances at serious risk
our spending use to be correlated with unemployment (picrel), but has gone off the rails in the the past decade of the trump/biden gerontocracy era

the problem is that if anything unexpected goes wrong, finances can quickly spiral out of control
the fed has enabled the government to spend irresponsibly, which has then enabled business and individual financial irresponsibility

regular recessions would normally keep everyone in check and flush out the weak & mal-invested
but we haven't had a proper business cycle recession in almost 2 decades, which has led to everyone getting far too comfortable taking on risk
not looking good, but hard to predict exactly how this plays out in stocks/bonds over the next 5/10/20 years
