Right now NVDA are the kings but all it takes is for INTC or AMD to figure out how to do decent AI chips as well and NVDA's de facto monopoly position is over and prices will race to the bottom. The markups on their chips right now is literally hundreds of percentages, solely because there is no alternative right now. A completely normal event in this industry is the current king being dethroned by a company you've never heard of or an entirely new field in compute opening up where some unexpected chip design happens to be the most optimal one and all the patents are owned by another company you've never heard of.
