Even factoring in volatility decay, you may as well hold if you're that deep in the hole already. It'll probably dump for a day or two more and then proceed to crab around as bulls try to maintain some form of resistance. At that point, you'd just need to pray that some amazing news comes out to pump your bags.
I wouldn't be surprised if ORCL spins some bullshit story before the end of the month to make up for this.

Do not fall into the trap of anthropomorphising Larry Ellison. You need to think of Larry Ellison the way you think of a lawnmower. You don't anthropomorphize your lawnmower, the lawnmower just mows the lawn, you stick your hand in there and it'll chop it off, the end. You don't think 'oh, the lawnmower hates me' -- lawnmower doesn't give a shit about you, lawnmower can't hate you. Don't anthropomorphize the lawnmower. Don't fall into that trap about Oracle.

in a bust it doesn't matter what relative losses they have, because when spy is trading at 100 they're the only ones who can make a bid, because you don't have a job and are selling your daughter at church meetings for potato rinds and they still have more than enough. working class parties have always favored inflationary policies because they are more stable and keep people employed. that the oligarchs play it better isn't in question, but what you want would rig the game more in their favor. you're just mad that you're losing but you don't have a solution.

Even if you think you're winning right now, you're losing too, you dumb fuck. No matter if your robinhood shitfolio goes up by 5%, and even if you manage to eek out an existence on your relatively meager capital asset portfolio, there isn't going to be a country to live in if this paradigm continues. Financialization downstream of excessive currency expansion and uncontrolled inflation has been completely destroying the tangible aspects of our economy. We can't produce physical things in the real world because our "economy" is just a pile of circular scams with people passing money back and forth. China is handing our asses to us as a consequence of us abandoning free markets and pursuing currency debasement and corporate welfare. And that's without even considering the demographic collapse and importation of foreigners because we can't afford to have children ourselves.

no. things are getting worse for you because technology has diffused to places where labor is cheap. in the 20th century all the productive machinery was concentrated in about 10% of the world's population which allowed them to benefit disproportionately. now china has cnc lathes and steel mills and computers and the people are willing to work for far less than you. if it weren't for inflationary policies we would still be in a depression that started 17 years ago. there are a lot of problems but hard money won't solve them. they'll just make things worse. in a pinch we could rebuild our industrial base, and we're slowly doing that. it isn't free though, it creates unproductive redundancies and those companies require subsidies or protection to stay profitable, because those factories in china aren't going away and this trend is gonna continue for a very long time.

I'm still new to investing, so could someone tell me if my understanding is correct for the hypothetical scenario where the US dollar collapses (I use ETF here but it should be the same for stocks)?

>invest in a broad ETF like VOO or VTI or VT something
>US dollar hyperinflates
>ETF values trend toward infinity
>government creates a new currency
>ETFs are revalued in the currency
>ETF are likely sold off en masse in order to liquidate assets and pay for things like food and rent
>mass selloff causes ETF prices (in new currency) to drop
>they eventually recover back to normal
>once they recover, they'll have basically maintained their pre-collapse value

So ETFs should be a good hedge against currency collapse assuming you have some way to eat in the meantime. Is that correct?

You'll be better off buying precious metals and precious metal accessories (a meme way to say "miners") as the world abandons the dollar. The economic contraction in real terms that will accompany dedollarization will hurt the companies in your ETF. Putting your money in PMs and PM-adjacent companies will allow you to profit as the world dumps the dollar for precious metal-backed currencies for international trade. That's why PMs are going up so much right now.
