So much for that $75 algo ceiling
where are some good places to find junk silver / coin collections for cheap? It seems a lot of people haven't picked up on the fact that silver us up 350% yet. I've found a few boxes of misc coins at estate sales for like $20-30 (usually containing at least 1 silver dollar etc.), but not much else so far. Was thinking about buying sterling silver cutlery as well, but it'd have to be a similar thing (estate sales, clueless relatives, etc.) since any dealer/broker will know what they got.

It will be interesting to see Gold approach $5000, Pd to surpass $2000 (It's high was $3000 not long ago so I can see some FOMO here) as well as Pt making some all time highs. If it gets over $2500 we could see if make some waves too. Silver at $75, I don't think it will take long to reach $100. It doesn't even feel expensive given the fundamentals, it's only in comparison can you understand how absurs $20-30 silver really was this whole time. We were buying $4 Filet Mignon and had no idea how good things were. Commodities repricing is a lot more impactful to the world than something like BTCs run from $1 to $120,000. >>61544385Nathaniel Rothschild tweeted about a Monetary Reset and to hold onto your butts. All metals and commodities are going to be recalibrated, trade renegotiated, and the globe will be entering an inflationary era mixed with austerity. Unrealistic assumptions that resources are boundless and we can just earn interest in perpetuity forever is coming to an end. If we can't fill up all of these retail shopping centers because 1 - the trade deficit is going to collapse and 2 - Citizens have no purchasing power for whatever reason, then that is just going to be a reality we live in until we can rebuild our collective savings. (You can't building savings without real interest rates. The banks, dollar, government, Wallstreet pensions etc are all going to have to die in a massive cleansing bankruptcy. You'll probably get ten cents on the dollar, lose your job, and be fighting over even the most humble jobs you can think of. Luxury services, expensive craft beers. smoked meats and expensive hobbies are all going to be things we can't afford and the service economy is going to shrink in a scary way as it is going to leave vacant properties all over the place. Most of the U.S. economy is hollow and exists because we allow workers to be underpaid in an overvalued currency. That situation is fraught with danger.

>>61544521Yeah you guys got the sun's radiation, I respect it and don't look down on other rates like some nukes. One crew one screw.
>>61544540That's the hardest question to answer. Some people use the gold to silver ratio to answer that. If the GSR were to revert to the natural monetary ratio of 1:15 to 1:20, then silver would be at least $225 given the current price of gold. However, gold likely wouldn't stay at the same price if silver were to rise that much. Some people take into account how useful silver is and point out the structural supply deficit. Because silver is consumed in technology and industry while gold isn't, the ratio of above ground investible gold and silver (coins and bars) is about 1:1. So, because central banks are buying gold so rapidly, and because silver needs to be much closer to gold, the only thing we can say for sure is "much, much higher."
>>61544519>>61544552Nice, then I'll make it by then.

>>61544245>Mining industry It really won't change much, the majority of silver comes from large copper/lead/zinc deposits and even then the amount of silver recovered nothing compared to the amount of ore that is brought up from those mines.Silver is something that Mines see as a way to reduce their costs, not as the main source of their profit which is tied to Pb/Zn/Cu prices.Right now only new silver mines with high grade deposits can alleviate the shortage, there are two unexploited in Bolivia that'll be cheaper to mine worth around 19Moz/yr plus the majority of Bolivia is still largely unexplored but even then we're talking 10yrs minimum before operation becomes normalised during which industrial demand will continue to rise.

>>61544904A lot lower than you think. We're entering an era where the scarcity, created through running the economy red-hot to chase velocity of money to prop up the international monetary system, is rearing its head. The currency units, which should be wild cards, are now needing to contend with some commodities actually being so scarce your dollars won't be able to buy it even if you want. You won't even be able to swap gold for silver because there is so much more gold above ground than silver.
>>61544179It matters until it doesn't. Those paper contracts are always floating, so there's a chance for a pull back before an implosion. Unlike with the printed dollars to PMs, which will eventually reconcile (or humanity dies). Who knows what the US could peg the paper dollar to and at what rate. It all depends on how much PM the US actually has and if they peg it. In other words, no one has any idea what it coming. Imagine those old road runner cartoons where the character runs off the edge, but before falling has time to realize he will fall and puts up a sign saying "Oops". That's where we are, we already went off the edge long ago (before we were born) and now society is slowly waking up to realize that nothing can stop our fall. The fall is coming, all you can do is brace for impact. So when we say " what will the dollar amount of silver be" that's the wrong question. The correct question is, how can I best prepare for a world where silver becomes money. One part of that is accruing silver, but an even bigger part will be staying alive long enough to use it. Bullets, water, food, then silver is the order of needs in a world where there is a total collapse because people will be starving in the streets. If you're celebrating the value of silver today, then you haven't fully realized that the fact that we're measuring silver in fiat notes is the proof that nothing has actually happened yet. I fall victim to this too.
I wish I could give someone a Merc to do my laundry for me and clean my house, honestly.

>>61544970The price has been suppressed for over 100 years. There is no reason silver needs to consolidate in a normal healthy trading pattern. The world is awash in credit/debt/liquidity and they appear to be chasing after commodities as we speak. The fundamentals of silver are so puny even retail could force a squeeze like this if everyone tried to take $100 into their LCS.
