Just popping in to remind the SCHD holders that the only thing they're hedging against is getting rich.
You could hold 1 million dollars of SCHD and your returns will be less than a fry cook working at McDonald's.
Thank you for listening to my Ted talk and I look forward to another year of laughing at SCHD baggies.

My boomer stepdad wants to invest into a high divvy ETF, such as JEQP. I've no experience with such ETFs, so I'm not sure what to make of it. As far as I can tell it's a bet on high volatility and benefits from growth on the long term. It's not one of those TSLY high yield scams where the product loses value and you get some high divvy, right?

It makes total sense that memecoins, sports betting, degenerate stock gambling and options trading have became popular the last 10 years. I’m 28, earn 140k and have 200k in index funds. By any measure I’m doing ok for my age. When I really think about it, the best case scenario is I marry someone with similar finances/career, we buy an overpriced house and have max two kids. I have to live close to a big city because of my career. My parents were able to raise 6 kids on one income with my dad running a small business. Maybe I spend too much time online looking at the 1% but it is very demoralising.

Also who you settle down with is the most consequential decision of your life. Financial or otherwise. My ex was a Chinese expat with very well off parents and it did make me think desu. Didn’t work out for other reasons but at the very least I’d want them to have a similar career of their own. It just won’t work otherwise.

Good thoughts. All go out the window when you get punched in the face by life . When you have kids you wish your spouse would stay at home to take care of them so you can focus on getting the bag. Its easier to focus on career growth when your home life is taken care of .
Choosing a partner with similar values and a mindset of you are in this together is key.
Dont get demoralized, look at median income, and savings . Every normie is living outside of their means and is one bill away from defaulting .
Figure out what is important to you , and just focus on that , everything is is just noise . There us always gonna be someone richer , or smarter or with a hotter spouse . But the comparison itself will rob you of the joy of your life.

People like you really have unrealistic expectations when it comes to investing. If he keeps his job and can continue to invest into that index fund, he can easily get to a million within 20 years, which means he could retire under age 50. That's a dream for a lot of people. not everyone hates their job and needs to gamble with their future just so they can retire as early as possible.

Being scared is not actionable.

Capitalism will never end. Perhaps financial capitalism might end, but attention, culture, social or preference capitalism will never ever end. In light of this, do you think it's impossible that even financial capitalism might not end that quickly?

i don't even know where this comes from. all you have to do is look at the 1960s-80s to know that this is just not true in the context of stagnant growth. inflation can run hot and the economy can be fucked at the same time dude.

Korean market has insane structural disadvantages that can distort the index and top companies. The crazy inheritance tax leads companies to be incentivized to actually have lower valuations, when you die in Korea the government takes 60% of your wealth even directly taking shares from rich families. This is theoretically an opportunity for a repricing like the recent Japanese corporate reforms but I’m not optimistic. Before you put money in Korea make sure you understand the ins and outs. Most of these companies are not run for the benefit of shareholders in the way a US company is.

I mean "just saving" in your checking is dumb but I'm putting it all in my investment accounts, I don't understand how these people expect to retire at this rate.
>>
so is BOIL just going to shit in the pit for a long time? natural gas is important.
>>
>>61581450
if you don't spend your money ASAP you are losing money because the inflation rate is bullshit and the value of your dollar is constantly decreasing
>>
>>61581454
Crazy that Micron at 282 dollars was actually a discount.

>Go to local breakfast joint nearby with father
>We only ordered a breakfast french toast sampler, a brunch burrito and a danish pastry with 2 cans of coke, that's it
>$45 for fucking TWO PEOPLE

I mean it tasted good but seriously why the FUCK is a damn breakfast so expensive now??? I'm gonna just make my own pancakes, waffles, bacon, eggs etc. from now on, no more eating out. Fuck this recession.

you don't want to know how many times I have heard "social security" as their retirement plan.

>>61581473
most people dont plan or think so far ahead.

kek! Not even BYND is "spared" from the rally today. Up 9%.

>swings 40% a week
buy when swung low, once they get their sat in orbit its money printer. Sats are paid for so its just monthly revenue from hundreds of millions of users (they partner with cell carriers all over the world to provide a supplemental service, not a competetive one).

I think they pulled a bunch of them when they separated the work safe boards, because that was easier than setting up a different folder, I guess.

>you can opt out of your wages being garnished for income tax but not for social security
insanely jewish that you are forced to pay into something with garbage returns instead of paying into the shit & piss 500

AI now basically is like the moon landing. It serves no economic purpose anymore. Everybody knows no money to be made out of it (Oracle). But you still want to be the first, the best. And with government now also stepping in, it's guaranteed hardware expenditures. This is why these fuckin goldshovel selling companies keep the market up. And then they also announce to increase prices, knowing the gov has their back. Truly american

Thats not the /biz/ way!

Not if you own some Micron. There's still plenty of time to buy in.

Indeed. To my continuing pleasure and enrichment.

>>61581521
they can't do that, if everything just increases prices instead of decreasing portions then it will be way easier for the goy to see that all economic data provided to the general public is complete bullshit

Why is my natural gas x3 etf down?
>>
>>61581475
I dunno if you bought Boil but the 'trick' is that it pumps ahead of weather events.
>east coast US suddenly gets a huge blizzard in january
Boil will probably pump
>natural gas is being accumulated in september for the winter
Boil will probably pump
>it's june and there's a massive heatwave in texas with 110 degree weather
Boil will probably pump.

In a certain sense it is the easiest thing to time, but people fuck up thinking it's a long term investment when it is sharply tied to seasonal weather movements.

>>61581521
>said they've been slow for quite awhile.
Businesses would rather collapse than offer people food at good prices.

Stop day trading and start investing, anon. Buy some MU and hang onto it until the PEG gets up near 1. That, barring nuclear war or another Depression, is a fairly safe bet.
