Agree, but I think there is more speculation with the tariff decision as well Friday. I assume that is the bigger reason for the dip, as copper and other PMS are following but not as much. If tariffs get overturned silver will skyrocket and bring the other PMs with it.
There is also rebalancing with ETFs needing to change their balance sheets to support the price movements to track spot closer with out having the price balance be too out of wack and causing a squeeze.
I expect it to track up something like +2-3% a day next week instead of these shitcoin like volatility we are seeing now.

Jokes aside, OXY, but I didn't buy it because of the venezuela situation, just because I see it as a cheap, solid investment. Oil seems to be on a down trend since last year, it's a great time to buy any kind of stock and sell in the next 2 or 3 years. This venezuela thing will have an impact on the future, even MORE cheap oil will gigapump my bags when the arabs get tired of this. Also war will be good for oil investors.
>>
>>61607150
Ah yeah oxy and the other midsize like eog, devon and Diamondback get nothing from this but i do like those 4 the most. Chevron is solid and doing extremely well for the big boys while exxon and conoco but seem meh to me. But I do like the mid-sized ones more for growth long term. I think oxy did the right move selling oxychem. Gets rid of their debt concerns and gets them on solid footing.

They still dont pay a divy thats much right. I remember they cut it to nearly 0 during covid or something.

Agreed. Gas almost touched $5 in early December and data centers are still being built. Gas could be set up for a massive new price point and with lng production and shipping it's becoming an easy thing to ship out and compete on global markets. Oil is promising too, a lot of deals going on recently with consolidating of acreage and basins. Companies of every size I feel will enter 2026 on solid footing to scale up their assets.
>>
>>61607199
Nuclear seems to be the most proficient way in the future, even when it generates some nuclear waste, it's the only one who can be at the same level as electricity, and that one will be even more and more expensive too.

In parallel, Fiserv (FISV.NaE) is working with Microsoft (MSFT.NaE) to expand its use of Microsoft Foundry, an Azure-powered AI platform designed to build, customize, deploy, and manage AI applications safely and securely.
Why the fuck is MSFT leading the charge down? It's already oversold, Azure is an increasingly popular product, and the primary complaint has been that Copilot isn't popular enough. Every time it looks like it's recovering, it gets bitchslapped again.

If you only ue a turbine to make electricity, you are wasting a lot of energy...Gas only makes 35% of the energy into electricity, everything else get lost in the heat, temperature also has a big role on gas-based energy.
I'm not saying it's NOT the one, but it's far from being the new energy who can replace electricity, or the one who can be on the same level.

>>61607289
>Data centers, especially for AI, are causing a massive backlog for gas turbines, pushing delivery dates years out (even past 2029) as manufacturers like GE Vernova, Siemens, and Mitsubishi struggle to meet demand for quick, reliable power, leading to innovations like repurposed jet engines (Boom, ProEnergy) and strategic pivots to natural gas to bridge grid connection gaps.
I mean it takes longer to get connected to the grid than it is to install gas turbines which is what they're doing and they will continue to use even after grid connection as back-up generators in case of outages
>>

But they're not being used for back up generation which is what I should have clarified but as the only source of power for data centres because it's quicker than waiting to be connected to the grid and they will continue to exist as grid connection for back up capacity I mean Sam Altman is investing in Boom Technology to power the Stargate data centre project so why not follow the money? If the companies are investing in this technology why do you think it's a bad idea?
>>
>>61607298
It's not sustainable (to me), because the system is getting completely saturated, Tech companies are panic-buying gas turbines to power AI, it's creating such a massive backlog that you're looking at 2029 just to get hardware. It's a total bottleneck. Plus, even if you get the turbine, you're just swapping one headache for another, instead of waiting for a grid connection you're now fighting for gas pipeline space and praying the gas prices don't skyrocket, you've got these companies promising to be "green" by 2030 yet they're locking themselves into burning fossil fuels for the next decade just to keep the lights on. between the manufacturing delays and the environmental pushback, the gas bridge is starting to look more like a dead end to me.

AI is against a wall until they make a better version of the AI chain of thought (the Hierarchical reasoning model could be a start). There is no improvement yet they have invested chillions of dolars on it, it's too big to fail but it isn't making any advance, we need more than 7 years.

Money will dry up without return on investment so while money may still be invested it will be at much lower amounts than now but that is the entire plan even Bezos uses the analogy of the dotcom bubble and how it was ultimately good because it built out the internet for when the demand eventually existed, just like how it's best to build the data centres now so you can work towards AGI sooner

they will make fun of you if you do this, but it works. Read some books, play chess, find fun and joy on white-based activities. Then try the "fake it till you make it", but forget the "fake it" part, don't do or say things to make people look at you in certain (high level) way, just believe that you will have wealth and never stop grinding, it worked for me, I started being really poor at my childhood and now i'm in a very well position thanks to destiny and my will to success. My way to deal with red days it's just play chess or find any interesting thing to do outside the market, stop looking at numbers all day man, even in a big colapse, business will be there tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after that day, it always have been like that, focus on serious companies like tech, mining, or ETFs. Everybody will tell you how to make it or being rich, but only you can be able to make it YOUR way. I believe in you anon, let's get that motherfucking wealth.

Tariff ruling isn't priced in because we don't have that information. What is priced in is a 73% change of the court striking down the tariffs. This, or something similar to this has been the consensus for a while so I don't know why you believe everyone has been waiting to price it in until now.

Try to get a government position that will let you engage in insider trading. Alternatively, try to get a relationship with someone who has a government position that can feed you information for insider trading. The government picks the winners and losers so if you want to become a winner you need to swear allegiance to AIPAC. Go to a synagogue and tell them that you're ready to do anything, and they'll get you into a government position but you might not be high level enough to be privy to high quality information for insider trading

What's priced in is the information we know. A 27% chance they are allowed to stay and a 73% they aren't. The consensus has been like this for a while. Obviously, once the ruling comes out this will resolve one way or the other but this information won't be priced in until it is know.

I don't know what you find that difficult to understand about this. Information is priced in when it is known.

Saying that the consensus has been one thing for months but just know it is being priced in is what makes no sense. Again, the information is priced in when it's known.
>>
>>61607570
>What's priced in is the information we know.
We don't know any information just people speculating based on bias
>A 27% chance they are allowed to stay and a 73% they aren't
Those aren't the chances that is just a representation of 27 out of 100 people think one thing and 73 out of 100 think something else

You are actually a mongoloid I am done wasting my time responding to you, you also never responded to why the very publicly talked about RAM price shortage and increase was never priced in and MU stocks almost doubled after their earnings
>>

>We don't know any information just people speculating based on bias
That's the best estimation we've got. So yes, that's information. Why do you think we can not make an estimation of the chances of any uncertain future event?

>Those aren't the chances that is just a representation of 27 out of 100 people think one thing and 73 out of 100 think something else
It's not even that because it's market weighted. That's the market consensus for what the chances are. If you think they are different, you can bet on them.

>you also never responded to why the very publicly talked about RAM price shortage and increase was never priced in and MU stocks almost doubled after their earnings
Well I'm guessing that if it was that evident it was already priced in and the price movement was the result or something else and if it wasn't that evident then it wasn't priced in and it's just you having hindsight bias, confirmation bias or both.

It's not a 1-1 price raise because there is displacement, it's still significant though. Take into account many goods move over the border more than once and there are tariffs on the inputs of those goods as well.
The calculation of the tariffs the rest of the world placed on the US used for the reciprocal tariffs is completely nonsensical and based on a formulae that has nothing to do with the actual tariff rates.

>>61607715
Any absorption is likely to be small and temporary. Many are probably doing so because the policy is so unstable that they are waiting to see if it goes away. This same reasoning would also stop them from significanlty changing their supply chains and reshoring anything.
Eventually, tariffs are a consumption tax and the cost of these taxes gets pushed onto the consumer.
