Gold & Silver: The funko-pops of investments
>not bought to make a profit, only to take pictures to share with other collectors
>said pictures frequently include other LARPing prepper equipment (which only goes to illustrate the ill mind of these "investors")

Local coin shops are not large scale market makers who can necessarily handle the price action of silver going from $40 to $110 in such a short period of time. That doesn't mean that you won't be able to sell your silver. It's just that even modest stacks are now tens-hundreds of thousands of dollars. Any wise business owner would be very hesitant to buy too much metal at these blow-off-top prices.

I will keep looking.

Hello fellow Canucks. It is me, the Canada post poster. I linked an item to the mints website yesterday for under spot items. Here is another one from the shopping channel. It's very liquid. The LCS simply has to match up buyers and sellers and he can clear the trades. Expecting a LCS to handle mania levels of new interest in PMs is going to have its bumps. People selling is not causing the price to drop either which would be indicative of an illiquid market.

It's interesting to think about the value of dividends at a time like this. earning 5% per year on a stock you thought was safe always felt nice when an ounce of silver was $20. What is even the point of basis points when other commodities are going to be creeping higher to chase the money metals? This is why I wisely chickened out on trying to build a small floor of dividends under my feet so I could be a comfy boy. It takes 7 years to double your money earning 10%. But deep down we all knew the capital appreciate of silver would blow out passive income. Glad I stuck to my guns and opted to buy the quiet mining stocks that seemed to do nothing. When they mature and start paying dividends I'll be so far ahead of the curve..

Brian with Vermillion Enterprises (Florida LCS owner's YT channel) said he got an email saying one of the largest wholesalers ("a major major one") has stopped taking silver as they are overwhelmed. That leaves just 3 or 4 more and he expects 1 or 2 of them to do the same.

He also said shipping has come to a halt because of the weather so don't be surprised if your packages are late or lost if you try to send/receive items right now.

Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Hey /pmg/ is this enough to make it? I know it's not silver, but when silver was $25 I ignored you guys because it was too cheap. Now silver is over $100 which is too expensive so I've resorted to buying bottle caps.

At some point the West actually has to catch up and somehow surpass the Shanghai price. The shorts are sinking like a stone and somehow they have to get out of this position. But who the ever living fuck knows where the money-metals will end up without the shorts. If no one is on the short side of a silver futures contract then what do you have other than a runaway price?
The banks don't seem able to stop it. And the vaults are no more full at $112 per ounce than they were at $50 per ounce. So up it goes!

>HOW has the economy not collapsed yet?
It's all manufactured. All of it. The trillions in debt. The lowered food quality standards to keep the prices down. The distractions in the news. The luxury top 0.01% only planned neighborhoods in Israel trying to make South Africa but this time it'll totally work you guys. All industry shifting to trying to set up the US for industrial retrofitting like Brazil in the 1960s. The billionaires buying yacht fleets with built in hospitals and preparing to live outside the USA for at least 5 years.

America is being looted right now. The only play if you're not able to flee is not going broke when the dollar implodes.

These wholesaler shutdowns and the credit crunch is due the interruption in normal business cycle. Price discovery and and everyone maxxed out on their credit is screwing everything up and it's all caused by the silver shortage. Just think, everyone in the industry can now only buy or process a 1/3rd of the precious metal they could 90 days ago. Banks need to raise credit limits temporary early until things stabilize. See the SD Bullion CEO's memo about this.

Yea I’m not too confident that we will recover from this easily without things really taking a turn for the worse. Even if the so called ‘powers that be” got together at a round table to try and figure everything out, the rate at which society itself collapses will be much quicker than what these guys can come up with. People chimp out and clean out the shelves of grocery stores during weather events, just imagine what will happen when the usd continues going into a free fall. And normalfags are walking around more concerned about the Super Bowl than anything else. It’s going to be fucking brutal for them

Many people wonder when they should sell.

We should rather remember why we started buying in the first place.

I live in France, in this dying Europe, riddled with traitors, bankers, and parasites from poor countries.

I never bought anything hoping to get rich.

I bought my first coin in 2008 because the IMF had admitted what Europe had decided to do, which was to siphon off savings, and implement negative interest on all bank accounts after the switch to the digital euro.

My only goal is to avoid this, and it's obvious that the 99% of sheep will want to do the same thing, even if they can no longer buy metals, they'll still want them, they will want it anyway, they will trade what they have to get it, so personally I would not sell, even at $300 an ounce of silver.

Most countries have bail in legislation. If banks go down the shitter they aren't getting a bail out. Everything that is in their account is now there's because of the bail on legislation. The great taking.

I stack because I don't trust the fake and gay system, why on earth would I hand those metals over to a cog in the system. Counter party risk. No thanks. Metal in hand. Buy a safe, bury it somewhere but to give it over to an unstable system is retarded.

Again is anyone considering the possibility that this simply coincides with the comments made by CCP officials last year about Silver being undervalued by near $100 dollars because of US manipulation and it is haulting new mining endeavors from proceeding? I think its possible the globe realized that we need more Silver and the only way to make that happen is a price increase so that Miners can become profitable? I guess if it goes to $175-$200 then I am wrong but this seems to be the sweet spot or nearing it for Miners and AI/Solar Panels/Medicare Equip ect...

You might be correct, but there are too many factors in play. That's why silver was the purchase of a lifetime. It's not just one thing.

I completely undershot the price targets (I was trying to be very conservative) but my thesis on most people being rapidly priced out seems accurate so far.

I don't see it going to $400oz in 3 months unless something century defining happens and the USD starts actually doing hyperinflation instead of the regular rapid inflation.

Will 800oz and 5oz of gold be enough to live comfortably

ha, could be. once the price is high enough that would be sub 1% movement, like with gold.

>I don't see it going to $400oz in 3 months

-COMEX has less than 120 million ounces of deliverable silver.

-Shanghai has less than 80 million.

-LBMA has less than 120 million.

They all delivered 150 million ounces last month.

What do you think happens to the price of silver when they all run out in 4-8 weeks?

I'd say if it starts to exceed Chinese markets then the globe has a problem. If it sits and mirror chino markets then it potentially was just a price correction to match global markets and push Miners back into production for the inevitable demand crunch we will see with AI/Tech.

Just to counter the fools saying you cant sell refined silver. Had phone with my vault dealer in Dublin about 2 hours ago

2 minute call. Sold 5kg for €2,986. per kilogram. They are definitely buying and they are crazy busy she said. I asked was it more buying or selling today. She said "oh definitely buying".

You have about the same as me 1025oz silver and 2oz gold.

Who knows. I feel comfortable. I don't have any fomo. But who knows if we will see $1,000oz silver like we probably should. Silver at parity with gold doesn't seem like that much of a longshot to me, especially since Bitcoin, with no underlying value, somehow got over $100k per

I bought two 5 oz bars last night to help with the supply shortage and it told me I had to wait 6 weeks just to have my order shipped. I think we still have time for it to run up higher in the short term at least, impossible to predict pullbacks of course but supply should only continue to get more scarce for now.

Requires baking soda to create an alkaline solution. Line a bowl with the foil shiny side contacting the silver, pour a pile of baking soda directly onto the silver, then pour near boiling water onto it. Let sit and the sulfur will transfer from the silver and deposit onto the foil.
