I hate this feeling, I bought silver and gold in in good last year and have seen 100% gains, it was my first big purchases like this outside my house so while I invested, I invested only around 20k.When the fucking number goes up I just hate myself for not being braver and buying more, I had the money but was afraid of it crashing as soon as I would buy.
I think I will go get myself a new Hilux and other essentials with some of my remaining fiat as mundane items and food are lagging behind value wise.

Retard the silver mining was only a temporary thing at the start, then they switched to total fiat, forced everyone to use it, then inflated the shit out of it.

Yes but its retarded because you still need to pay taxes in the other year,
There are calculations out there that the government will actually lose tax money this way over time, and the normal investor gets hit heavily with this its like 40% less gains from what I've seen over like 25 years investment horizon.

so it's literally a lose-lose.

More than one caste can be effected by this m8. Your farmer would be equally as fucked (maybe even more so) by a law like this but nobody who makes or influences the decisions gives two fucks about him. They only care because it effects them. That and the army or pissed off normies with all their entire net worth tied up in their houses.

>No one knows the true value of silver or gold
as long as ordinary people are still allowed to go out and mine gold and silver by hand the value is pretty easy to calculate as labor-hours

it varies depending on location, but in much of north america it's really not that high. Assuming a guy with a shovel and pan does work worth about as much as any ditch digger.

I feel like there are relatively easy ways to make this not an option, so the fact that is it is purposeful and intended as a feature, not a bug.

At some point you have to stop beating around the bush and make your means your intent. If the goal is to tell rich people to cough up their money, tell rich people to cough up their money.

A single person can pan 1.5 oz per month or so in much of the US working 40 hours per week. So even if we're generous and call it one ounce per month's pay, it's not going to buy a house unless that house can be built by one dude working full time for one month.

silver is harder to calculate since it's not as common in the US, and almost nobody is mining it right now. But in known lead/silver districts it's much easier to find than gold. Not sure what it would be worth since mining it in quantity would require more than one person. But it's not unobtainium, it's slightly less common than lead or copper.

It doesn't work like that with the new box 3 calculations.

Under the new system starting in 2028, you can carry losses forward to the next year. For example, if you make €5,000 profit in year 1, you pay tax on that. If in year 2 you have a €4,000 loss, you can use that loss to reduce taxes on future profits. This only works with Box 3 capital gains, and it does not automatically give back the tax you already paid on year 1’s profit.

You can use losses to pay less tax later, but you still pay tax in the year you made the gain, even if the value goes down afterward. The risk is still mostly on the investor, especially in volatile markets like stocks or crypto.

>translated with JewPT

>>61712485
But "why should rich people cough up their money" should be the only question we all ask. Why not instead just dictate that all silver and gold hoarders must willingly give a portion of their stacks to the State. Is that not the same thing? The PM boom will make many thousands of new millionaires. They will be forced to disgorge their "ill-gotten gains". The masses will demand that the politicians and their cop soldiers, also members of the poor mass class, take it from the new elite....the stackers. It's coming.

our laws are similar, you can recapture past gains or losses in the following year.

biggest problem I find in the US is you can't use losses from one business to offset gains in another above a limit of $2k per year. So your prior year recaptures need to be for the same business.

also you can recapture losses for something like 7 years back I think. Ask an accountant. But if you have an enormous loss you may not owe taxes on that business until the loss is recovered, no matter how long it takes.

I also quite liked it when I randomly got one. Added it to the collection immediately.
Unfortunately, unlike in the USA, there are practically no silver coins in circulation in the EU.
When I was a kid, I got silver coins from my grandma (around 7€ face value) for some of my birthdays but spent them immefiately.
Gladly, I re-bought several of them when they were 15€, since they go by 50€ by now.

Are you sure about it this? Isn’t that why wives of hedge fund and wall street guys operate boutiques at a major loss as a hobby? I actually formed a sole prop to write off some things to offset some of our joint income cause wife made a shitload this year. Only 3k in losses I am doing.

Not that it matters, the rivers in my area haven't run out of gold after almost 200 years of sustained mining, I doubt any number of people with gold pans is going to do anything.

It will never run out because it's replenished naturally, but an uptick in people exploiting any resource will inevitably reduce the rate at which it can be extracted.

Make sure people don't start trailing you. If Gold keeps climbing then panning will be a viable means of work, it probably already is given the price. Anyone who wants to get into it is gonna follow the old timers around.

short recap: at around 30 €/kg copper, 10 cents are more expensive than valueable.

>HONG KONG Chief Executive John Lee stated that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has entered into a cooperation agreement with the Shanghai Gold Exchange (SGE) to launch a cross-border precious metals trading and clearing system.
The government aims to achieve a reserve capacity of over 2,000 metric tons within three years, which will position Hong Kong as a regional gold reserve hub.

Its dirty. You'll make a big mess and have big losses. I got plenty of silver from screwing around and melting rocks though.
>>
>>61712843
Yeah my easiest process would be smelting in bone ash but I have several hundred pounds of rich galena to work so I think that many bone ash crucibles might be too expensive.

probably end up straight melting, parting, then dunking in nitric since I have a good supply of that pretty cheap.

It has very little silver in it. But at current prices it's worth recycling off plumbing.

I wouldn't buy it to stack though.

>>
>>61712819
I dont know if this AI slop is accurate but at almost $6 a pound (maybe doubling in a few years) seems like you should

>A typical plumber can accumulate several hundred to over a thousand pounds of scrap copper annually, depending on the volume and type of work performed.

Residential plumbing projects alone can yield 151 pounds of copper in plumbing tubes, fittings, and valves for an average single-family home, according to Copper.org.
Plumbers often generate scrap from multiple jobs, including replacing old pipes, installing new systems, and upgrading fixtures.
Based on Reddit discussions, a plumber might collect 8 to 10 full trash cans of scrap copper per year, with some reporting loads worth $800–$1,500 when sold at scrap yards.

Estate sales happen year round, antique malls also get deals sometimes so go looking for metals.
>>
>>61712783
Its a LOT higher than that using your methodology. I normal soldier/worker makes closer to 30K a year. Maybe a little less. Accounting for holidays, etc, the price of silver should be closer to $950. However, using other ratios from the 20th century, silver could go well above 1,000 USD conservatively.

i used aluminum foil + baking soda first.
the coins that weren't clean yet i put in a hot citric acid solution (10-20%) and put it in a ultrasonic cleaner. after that i used the soft side of a kitchen sponge to scrape the worst off. they're quite clean aside from some patina in the low relief.

The Rothschilds own most of the gold. They are going to force the world back onto a gold standard. If you want to really make a fortune, stack gold and ride the Rothschild train! Also, each ounce of gold you buy is one less ounce the Rothschilds can use to fund war.

Stack Gold for your wealth and world peace!

>>
>>61712919
well not yet, but i was making a point that if copper doubles in price again, the metal content would be more expensive than the face value (which is normal for gold and silver coins, so why not also for copper in the future?)
so the coins could be seen as some sort of "options" on the copper price since a 10 cent coin keeps its 10 cent value, even if you're wrong and copper gets cheaper again. all of that is of course disregarding opportunity cost, transportation cost and storage cost.
just a thought experiment.
>>
>>61713150
Okay but paper gold is obviously not going to have that effect right?
