I know from the brief exodus to /bant/ last year that we have a bunch of germans in this general. What are your plans if the SPD actually gets their propositions through regarding changes to the capital gains tax? It would make investing in the stock market completely pointless if you live in Germany and have a job where you make 70k or more per year, because any capital gains would then be taxed at 43% PLUS additional proposed healthcare and pension fund taxes for unrealized capital gains. At that point it would be mathematically impossible for compounding interest to work anymore.

All the haves will move to a low tax jurisdiction and countries like Germany will be full of have-nots who are net drain on the society. It will be hilarious.

>>
>>61831692
I don't know but it's currently being actively discussed everywhere in our state media, like there is a genuine chance this might happen. Our pension and healthcare system is falling apart and there aren't that many people who invest in the stock market here in Germany, so the CDU might think that their voter base will actually be okay with ridiculously high taxes on capital gains as long as it saves their pensions for the time being.

technically you can but there is a massive difference between leaving a state in the US and leaving a country in the EU
why do you think young spaniards didn't immigrate north after the GFC and stayed in Spain?

>>61831716
It's easy to say just move. Have you ever considered ties to your home turf ? A lot of people don't want to move to another city, let alone another country with different language and culture. Well, that's what you might think, but here in Germany we also have a thing called the exit tax. If you move away, even to another country in the EU, and you have more than 500k Euros invested in ETFs, you have to tax them as if you sold them at market value at the time of you moving away. Conveniently, that particular ETF law was introduced in 2025. Just in time for changes to capital gains taxes that will massively fuck over investors.
>>
>>61831716
The E.U. literally had mechanisms in place to ensure all E.U. countries are roughly aligned on taxation and so on to prevent this sort of obvious thing where one country could lower corporate taxes to 0 and steal all E.U. corporations.

The USA has better investment tax laws and retirement accounts than anywhere in Europe.
Roth IRAs are not taxed at all if you're 59.5 years.

"Just move bro" only makes sense for the most poor that don't own anything anyway and might as well try somewhere else or the super rich that can just buy another house in Turkey or wherever and live there while making money remotely (software, trading, etc.) If push comes to shove I will also move but it's not that inconsequential. I can move to Turkey, buy a house for really cheap and pay quite lower taxes... but I have to live in Turkey, you know. It speaks for itself.

Back on topic: I bought 3.3k worth of Unity after it crashed because of that Google AI game demo. I could have waited for an even bigger dip, but I thought it would rebounce right away after the panic settled. I was wrong, it kept falling for few extra days. That doesn't even happen in Europe
The reason why southern european youth unemployment is so high is that the youth refuses to move north despite them having nothing and the jobs being there.
eastern europeans have no sense of self worth so they don't count

Well as an American in Europe who has lived in Maryland, Virginia, Mississippi, Texas, California, Germany, and is currently in a small E.U. country I can say I wouldn't live here if I were confined to just one small European country. I need more freedom than that. As it stands currently I can drive all the way across Europe without border controls the same way you can drive across America. If the Schzengen zone or E.U. ever falter I'm going back to the USA immediately.

Europeans have roots to their homelands and nations and aren't willing to move so easily like americans who are more flexible
Same reason why europeans put a lot of emphasis in job security and why labor laws in Europe are so strong compared to the US
>>
>>61831779
Schengen zone is separate from European Union. One can exists without the other. Schengen is good, EU is not. EU could be good, but that can be said about everything. Everything could be good if it wasn't run by evil retards.

What's what pisses me off the most. If we had a cataclysm, fucking vulkano and earth quakes and lost everything, that's one thing. But we are regressing because of policy, our potential is being stifled.
>>
>>61831792
Agreed on the first point, the second not so much. I think the labor laws are fucking over people long term. You pay a lot of taxes and social security and for what ? Is it worth it ? I'd rather keep all my money and buy everything privately. I don't need daddy government to force me to take vacations.

On the other side. As a business you have to gamble with hiring a retard and having hard time firing them. I believe everything should be done like B2B. You work, you get paid. You don't work, you don't get paid. Let's have a reasonable notice period; 2-4 weeks, so you can't just fire someone on the spot... and that's it.
>>
>>61831802
I agree that we need to have far more flexible labor laws, it's becoming the center right consensus in Europe

>>
>>61831802
>You work, you get paid. You don't work, you don't get paid.
So many don´t work, I know so many that are blatantly useless and everyone knows, I imagine one of the main reasons they aren´t fired is just because its a hassle.

It's an astonishingly crude bit of TA, but I don't think he's really wrong, PLTR is wildly overvalued even if they are posting massive growth year on year. It's getting a bit of a short-term bounce, but the neckline of the head and shoulders pattern more or less lines up with where the 21-day MA is headed, so I think there's a pretty good chance it'll bounce off the underside of it in a few days, maybe a week, and then head back down. Market will probably turn red for a bit about then too. 50 seems ambitious, but I'd definitely expect it to go sub-100 before long.
>inb4 TA is astrology for men
It is, but if sufficient market participants and their algos follow it then that doesn't matter because it'll play out anyway.

American society is broken. I might come back to fuck your nation in her dirty whore asshole and steal your money but I'm always coming back to Europe and hope my kids don't have to stoop so low as to live in the USA, which is a brown majority 3rd world nightmare zone - just with nukes and money. Your view of internal migration in Europe is about 10-15 years out of date.
What you said was the case in the 90s and especially mid 00s after the big EU expansion, because the gap between the west and east was just so large that you could get 3-4x the money for the same kind of work in the west vs the east.
Things started to shift around the time of the GFC as the western countries absolutely shit the bed, while eastern GDPs shot up and started catching up.
Then things accelerated even further for the worse as they started flooding their countries with asians and africans.

In the present, every year more (white) people return from Western Europe back to their home countries than leave the other way, because the countries you mentioned have become absolute shitholes and the 10-30% higher salary is no longer worth the dismal societal conditions.

Places like Poland, the Baltics, Czechia etc. are unironically safer and higher quality of life places to live in and raise a family than the UK or France.

I used to work full time job and had paid overtime, paid days off and paid (partially) sick leave. As someone who enjoys their job and took few days off, it was just wasted. I always was forced to take them, you cannot not take them and take that money instead.

When I started my sole proprietorship I got like no joke 2x net cash and had just as much if not more flexibility. If I want a day off, i just take it. I don't have to ask anyone. I'm a company and won't be delivering service at this day, cheers.

>Exit tax

Same here in France. 800k.
Basically, to get relief from the exit tax, you have to keep the shares for 2 years after leaving France if your portfolio is under €2.57M, otherwise 5 years if it’s above that. But in the 2026 draft finance bill, the French National Assembly passed an amendment to bring back the “long” exit tax, meaning a return to the 15-year holding period before the tax can be fully waived, like under the pre-2019 regime. So you have to make it fast before getting heemed by your socialist-communist shithole
>>
>>61831867
No offence but you have a child's optimism around this issue. Last year we had a situation where German police was letting browns on the border cross and letting them walk into Poland. They had no documents and Germany claimed they came from Poland and are returning them back. Clearly a setup, Polish police also cooperated. There was a small civil uprest about it, people were recording the happening and trying to stop it. Our prime minister declared border crossing a critical infrastructure or whatever which made filming it illegal, problem solved.

If you think we have some gopniks walking around with baseball bats beaing the browns around you have watched to many slavik memes compilations. Let's stay in reality. Poland is behind the rest of Europe and Usa by 10 years by everything. The technology and ethnic replacement.

On the immigration side, it’s still kind of “manageable” for now. But for how long?
in Poland , there are already incidents involving sketchy migrants hanging around after crossing the Belarus/Germany border(with Poland basically letting it slide) , plus all the so-called “legal” ones who still cause trouble. There were recent raids targeting Georgians, and even cases where locals were murdered by South Americans. Poland anons. Poles anons have at most 10 years left to make it.

Witcher was always somewhat leftist, the entire race debacle in this universe is a blatant allegory to the real world. But at least it wasn't so retarded as modern slop. And it still had a lot of stuff besides that.

As for business in general. Yes. Making a business here is really hard. I believe the ultimate goal is to make Poland just an economic zone for foreign business. Making anything here is getting harder and harder. That doesn't mean that everyone gets wiped in a day, especially because poles are crafty and will always find a way around the bullshit. But it shouldn't be this way. If we manage to have decent live now imagine how it would be without the arbitrary limitations. That goes for every western country. We are burdened with bullshit for no good reason.

5:59 AM EST, February 09, 2026 (Benzinga Newswire)

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (OTC:SSNLF) is stepping deeper into the race for next-generation AI memory chips as the sixth-generation high-bandwidth memory (HBM4) supply battle tightens around a smaller group of major players.

HBM4 Supply Narrows To Samsung And SK Hynix
SemiAnalysis reported that Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ:NVDA) plans to source HBM4 for its next-generation "Vera Rubin" AI chips almost entirely from SK Hynix and Samsung, with Micron Technology Inc. (NASDAQ:MU) no longer in the mix.
The firm cut Micron's projected HBM4 share for Vera Rubin to zero and now expects SK Hynix to supply about 70% and Samsung roughly 30%, the Chosun Daily reported on Monday.
Vera Rubin, Nvidia's successor to Blackwell, will be the first AI chip to use HBM4.

Micron Falls Behind On Nvidia's Tougher Specs
Analysts attribute Micron's exit to difficulties meeting Nvidia's stricter technical requirements.
TrendForce and industry sources say Nvidia raised HBM4 data-transfer speed targets above 11 gigabits per second last year.

Samsung Prepares Mass Production And February Shipments
A separate update stated Samsung is preparing to begin mass production of HBM4 chips for AI infrastructure.
Bloomberg on Monday cited Yonhap News that

Any day now. It looks like it's going to happen too. The law the defense is citing to justify their emergency tariffs was created explicitly to reign in the ability of the executive branch to make unilateral decisions like that. So unless we pass a new law explicitly giving the president the right to tariff, that power resides instead with congress. And there is even a precedent that that wouldn't be enough because congress doesn't have the right to give its powers away.

Completely rotating out of the US definitively isn't the play of the year yet, but goddamn does the US make it hard for you. There is literally no attractive company right now there. Mag 7? Crabbing for near half a year. Winter darlings like MU? See pic.
My one investment I feel comfortable with is grabbing HOOD cheap, because it's getting into prediction market betting which is exploding.
Not the most bullish thesis if the one stock that seems attractive is a gambling platform and it's gamble holding them.

As of early February 2026, Walmart’s trailing P/E ratio is actually sitting even higher, closer to 45.

For a company that sells milk and socks, that’s a "spicy" valuation. But the market isn’t treating Walmart like a grocery store anymore; it’s treating it like a tech platform. Here is the breakdown of what that P/E ratio means and why the "Strong Buy" argument still has legs.

The reason people still call it a "decent buy" isn't because it’s a bargain—it’s because they believe Walmart is winning the retail war and stealing market share from everyone else. You aren't buying it for what it is today; you’re buying it for the high-tech, high-margin platform it is becoming.

When it works, it works. Easy money. God I love SPY.

some anons like to make gambling accounts, then they will only post their gains in double digit percents, never the losses, and they always blow the account up in 3 months just to start again
I used to think it was pathetic but now I'm like whatever, let them do what makes them happy

What percent of my paychecks should I allocate to my retirement? I guess I have to do it as insurance even tho I save/invest on my own. I'll be ready to die by the time I can use that shit...
>>
>>61832748
With a PE of ~30?
>>
>>61832745

Yes. I need to get to 200k. Almost there.
The fact that I can sell 50 contracts and they fill instantly is nuts. SPY is a dream.
>>
>>61832752
Idk what those words mean but I do know we are in a memory shortage
>>
>>61832758
That's not bad. Anyway Amazon will go to minimum 250 by end of year. It's the easiest 25% you'll ever make
>>
>>61832757
Let's say you need 30% of your paychecks to pay for rent, food, etc.
Then 70% of your paycheck should be allocated to your retirement/investments.
It's a pretty easy formula but if you need help you can tell me your percents and I can help you figure it out

you should allocate as much as possible to gambling on making the one big trade that lets you retire immediately jobso

I’ve definitely posted my losses. Sometimes the hopium takes over, that’s rare for me though. I usually close at -10% on a position. Today I had a bit more of an appetite.

Based anon. Work in a big tech corpo in western Europe and the amount of retards slacking off is insane.
If you want to differentiate from the retards salary-wise you inevitably need to go independent. Props for running your sole proprietorship, I'm going that route too by EOM.

is this even relevant right now? the spd is basically dying as we speak and the last time (last year) I heard or read about them increasing capital gains tax it was about increasing it to 30%, which is bad enough. I have a low paying job and make about the same as my day job from capital gains. they would double fuck me with this crap.

It's not producing real goods, things people need to continue living. All that's happening is they keep printing money and funneling it to these bottomless pits where half goes to nothing tangible and the other half goes into hardware that doesn't do anything useful.

You know what is the best part about just buying the index?
You have no regrets.

First of all you are only buying, not selling. So that's 50% fewer chances to muck it up.
Secondly, you are buying steadily with your spare income. You're not timing it, so even if it goes wrong it wasn't your own personal fuck up.
Thirdly, it tends to go up over time, so you don't feel like a fucking loser.
Fourth, if you've been doing it for a few years, you're up by so much where even a big crash isn't enough to turn it all negative.
Finally, you're just doing the "optimal" thing. During a bear market, that gives you conviction you're on the right path because smart people figured this all out and you're not just a mouthbreather doing his own thing.

Index now to minimize regrets later.
