this isn't 90s there's no scuds here. Iranians hide their missiles in houses, caves, cargo containers and underground. It'll take years to deplete it. And longer war goes on the better they are at hiding it.

>Interceptors running out is mostly a meme, interceptor drones and other intermediate defense missiles are being employed

USO is an obvious buy right now, right? Trump just said some words last night to tank it, and the Iranians say they want to inflict more economic pain on the USA, so it doesn't attack them again in the future.

Those words will wear off soon enough and it will go back up, is my expectation. He is definitely not ending the war "very soon", it would be a massive strategic defeat for the USA, especially since the new ayatollah is as far from "regime change" as you can get.
If he was going to end the war soon, he definitely wouldn't say it aloud, the message was obviously to calm the markets.
>>
>>61963381
They already said they did that last summer
>>
We won’t need oil where we’re going anyways

>>

>>
>American market opens up
>oil dumps
>Iran bombs UAE refinery this morning

>>
>>61963386
Depends if they can open the straight . Right now it closed but there is lots of speculation about opening soon .
The global economies are also taking steps to mitigate the closing in the short term like SPR releases and sanctions removal .
I just bought but concerned still
>>
It's ironic that some oil stocks are actually cheaper now than pre war.
I'm actually thinking to buy some more, but I can't really decide if they'll keep going lower.
Precwar they gained because iran tension, so they should go down as Iran gets rekt. But now oil will stay high for a while as they have to restart some fields, and others needs repair.

If chevron or slb goes down another 5% I'm def buying

price of oil will drop big from here as soon as the strait is verifiably open which could be any day. And any day now the whole conflict could end. Plus there are pipelines built for this specific scenario in the middle east and American production kicks into high gear at 100/barrel.
Short term, too risky for the gamble, long term more bullish for oil companies than oil itself. I'm slurping XOM now

value investing still works. the problem is when people think that any "magic equations" or "indicators" are foolproof. Anything that can be expressed as an algorithm will not work. You still need a thesis, but value investing principles are still extremely profitable. Case in point PRGO, to a lesser extent CLW, but also SM earlier. You WANT to buy stocks nobody's talking about.

If you have to ask if what you bought counts as value investing, then no it was not. I'm not trying to be rude when I say that BTW.
Quick check on AAF shows a high PB ratio, so definitely not value investing.
BGEO also has a PB ratio of > 1.0, but it's a financial company and you'd have to look deeper/use a different metric (like looking at how much customer debt it has etc).
And both are in Africa (nigeria right?)...which I don't think has very strong reporting standards...USA company accounting can be tricky/deceptive quite often, but i imagine nigeria would just offer waaaaaaay more opportunities for accounting fraud.

A ceasefire is possible for the Iranians but only under the right conditions.
For example they have proposed a solution to the impending energy crisis -

>IRGC says they want Isreals total destruction and US leaving the gulf

I feel this would be beneficial to everyone

Saving the global economy and only sacrificing Israel seems to be a good trade

They do still want isreal to not exist and status qou is Iran still doing state terrorism but I'm just saying they will settle for not including isreals removal as an item of the peace treaty

>Jeet getting shortages first.
Who’s story will win the heart of retail?
1 billion jeets screeching on twitter at the top of their lungs posting images of fuel rationing lines? Or the 24 hour news cycle with Jim Cramer telling you not to be a Panican?

On sunday I was thinking of doing oil futures. Would have 10xed 3600 bucks closing at 10 PM est. Then I was thinking of going in on the MUU dip, dramatically increasing my position. I could have made another 40k (assuming it goes to 280 bucks). I lnow I didn't do it, because I pussied out in both directions, but it always feels bad when I think about making trades, don't do them and then afterwards it's like "Hindsight is 20/20 but I'm 0 for 0".
