A nothingburger initially, since there are about 1 month's worth of plastic and other supplies as buffer storage for most countries.We are now halfway through that first month.Refineries have not yet declared FM, because unlike naphtha there are plenty of crude supplies in reserve, except they cannot be released fast enough. Japanese refineries ran at 69% last week, down from 77% a week before that. Refined fuel is still available as reserves exist and refineries are still running as long as crude supplies last. China banned fuel exports last week, and Korea capped exports to 2025 levels today. Qatari LNG could easily be restarted once the situation normalizes. Today they started pumping inert gas (nitrogen) into the systems and fully shutting down liquefaction trains. Restart could now take multiple weeks.Do you see where I am going with this
