Just lost a parent at 29 and got nothing in inheritance because he was in debt. All my peers are going to be inheriting houses and Beach houses and I gonna be down $4k on this funeral. Even if I was a doctor I'm just generations behind the upper class
>>
>loses a relative
>his only problem is money
I can see why they didn't bother working hard to leave you anything
>>
I misread and thought you lost a patent
close call there, OP
>>
>>62070307
You're extremely low IQ. Why would I bring up anything besides finance on a finance board?
>>
>>62070302
You lost a parent and first thought that is on your mind is that you got no inheritance?
Let me guess, you're American

>>
>>62070369
you underestimate the social policy in america
it's "expected" and when you don't get one people look at your family as failures (which is true)
>>
>>62070372
how about you get off finance board then and go console your other parent, you weirdo

I'd be pissed too. I became an orphan in my 40s and my shrink had me go to a support group for it since I wasn't taking it too well. It was just a bunch of annoying rugrats and teenagers crying about their mommies and daddies and none of them understood the pain I was going through of finding what to invest in after inheriting 12 million dollars. Very annoying.
>>
>>62070302
Bros dad died and he only cares that he didn't get left money, a sad state of affairs.
>>

Do you think you're finances disappear anytime you encounter hardship? You think people quit their jobs anytime a family member dies? You're extremely low iq

Your father, asshole.

My cat is dying of cancer and I feel sorry for her more than you feel sorry for your own dad.

GTFO of my finance board until you have grieved properly.
>>
>>62070414
your mind shouldn't wander to P/L ratio whenever you encounter hardship, your psychological projection of being dumb is obvious, financial issues aren't real issues, poorer people than you live happier lives

Sorry you got a bunch of faggots ITT OP, and I'm sorry I don't have any actionable advice, but I think I understand how you feel. My dad walked out on us for 30 years, decided he wanted to leave a house for us at the literal last minute, and left me and my siblings saddled with two mortgages and six-figures worth of repairs for a home that was in a state that 3 out of the 4 of us didn't even live in. Also had the added bonus of destroying the relationships we had with each other because no one could agree on how they wanted to handle the fucking thing.
>>

It’s a father’s duty to leave an inheritance to his children. I thank the Lord my dad was such a hard working smart man. And I will pay it forward.

I have two $16k life insurance policies on my mother when she dies. I was going to sell her house I'm living in and collect the equity. What should I invest all the money in /biz/? I was thinking of putting it in dividend stocks. Did your dad at least have a life insurance policy so he could leave behind some money for you?
>>
>>62070302
Your main concern is the money/assets you expected to get, not the family that you lost. You deserve nothing.
>>
I have nothing coming for inheritance.
My father is a deadbeat and my mother is a literal NEET living in my apartment, no disability either.
Im my own safety net.
I honestly fantasize about if my mother died of old age Id just pull all my money out of everything, even with penalties from 401k and roth IRA, and just blow everything on hookers, travel and whatever until Im fully debtmaxxed and then blowing my head off in a quiet desert in Arizona or somewhere.

>>
>>62071414

What is there to discuss about your pathetic McWhining over not being gifted money? That life is unfair and some people are handed down assets, and some don't get shit? Are you 12 years old, discovering this information for the first time in your naive life?
>>
>>62070302
Comparison is the thief of joy. You're a good son for covering the funeral costs. Hope it's a beautiful celebration of life with family and loved ones
>>
>>62070302
Lost my dad a few years ago. An hero'd through Self-immolation during covid lockdown during which his second wife left him.
She suddenly reappeared though, and took the house (which was originally my great grandmother's and absolutely not hers to take) along with 50% of the life insurance policy and his pension, both of which she took after telling my grandad she would leave them alone if she could have the house.
What we got was scraps. Enough to go on a nice holiday, while the cunt became a millionaire out of it.
Life just sicks anon.

>>
>>62071479
Don't get me wrong, he was a total and utter cunt too. Got to the state where he would down a bottle of vodka a day, chase it with a six pack of beer, but still thought people would want to be around him because he had a garage full of flashy cars.
Still my dad though.
>>
I'm glad my parents learned me to not be a greedy bastard instead of leaving me an inheritance. Enjoy what you have.

>>62070617

I lost my dad a year ago to the day, I not only received no inheritance, I was saddled with debt because my father took out a credit card in my name trying to help me build credit (I’m in my 20’s) without telling me about it.

Never have I once blamed him or been resentful. I relish the opportunity to make my own way without having to rely on the work of a parent to help get me ahead.

You sound extremely entitled and callous. There are things in life more important than money. I miss my dad every day. I appreciate him doing what he thought was right to help me, even if it didn’t work out in the end. I couldn’t imagine being such a cold hearted fuck to post something like this.

if he was american then the parent he lost almost certainly inherited money or assets when his own parents died

parents dying with zero and leaving nothing to their children is a boomer phenomenon.
