I guarantee you they will not be able to setup a toll. This would have even more catastrophic implications than the strait being closed with well established precedent in previous wars. The fact Iran thinks this will happen should be all the proof the world needs that they're dealing with a radically terrorist regime and needs to be eliminated before moving forward. Trump was right and I'm the most politically neutral person you will ever not meet

Numumus are happy to kill off capitalism if they can get their welfare.

Our objectives were to destroy numerous targets that of which we did hitting over 1000 in the first 24 hours. We destroyed their ships and planes. Iran does not have weapons grade uranium and anyway we dropped several multiple ton bombs on their munitions sites further diminishing their nuclear ability. We will use the remaining time to pressure them into an agreement if that fails we will be back to bomb them every time they think they can make nukes. Things could have gone better sure but the primary objectives were completed. Iran's one trick pony of closing the strait now has to deal with every country in the world coming together to open it back up which is will include security measures from NATO and endless sanctions against Iran should they not comply.

There's no ships to fight we blew them up already. The attacks are launched from land that of which we are continuously blowing them up. It is said a ground invasion of the islands is needed to control the flow of oil but I think we should just keep bombing their islands. Once they're depleted then maybe send in ground troops. I wouldn't risk anything when we have vastly superior ability to attack through the air. The only ones who want boots know it will just make us look bad from some token casualty

Ohh maybe because they’ve watched the double dealing with Iraq, Syria, Russia (use of proxy forces and ignoring prior agreements). The fact they have offered fair terms to start negotiations. And have their negotiating teams murdered in traps 3 times now.

At some point you have to come to the conclusion. The US is. As Lavrov put it.

“Agreement Incapable”

It’s absolutely clear now to Russia Iran and China. The US is angling for war. And complete domination at almost any cost or destruction of all norms built up since WW2. A framework mainly built, pioneered and moralised over by the US itself no less!

They have to defend themselves. Because the force behind the scenes that’s shaping the US now in the shadows by is almost messianic and Manichean in its pathology. None of that is in anyway good for the US the world and our bags. They are ideologues. Nutters.

The primary points in the agreement include opening up the straight and not making nukes. Iran wants to setup a toll (illegal) and build nukes (illegal). Nobody in the world agrees with Iran some are posturing from anti American sentiment and hatred of trump which is fair but none of that holds up when they can't get the things they need to survive which is why the whole world will come down on Iran for this. Reminds me of the final episode of The Pacific War in Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History series. The Japanese resorted to kamikazi tactics out of necessity because the technology of guided missiles wasn’t available yet. Then he speculates on what a naval battle in the South China Sea would look like if carriers could be hit by missiles. Drones weren’t in the picture yet when he released the podcast (2019 or something). Well now we’re seeing it in the Middle East of all places. If you can counter aircraft carriers with drones, you might actually be able to win. Crazy to see that this tactic is finally coming to fruition.

Actually the welfare state and family law(child support) support it. You basically have to be unemployed or making minimum wage to qualify. The more kids you have drastically increase welfare opportunities. A lot of people will not get married and have the woman claim to be single to get welfare benefits. Without the requirement of a man to provide, the state provides. A woman in a marriage with kids can get divorced and be better off than before with the welfare and child support she receives mandated by the state. If you can’t keep up with child support they throw you in jail and take away your drivers license.

Or. Just do deals with Iran on more favourable terms than the US is offering. The sky is big. And the US is just another big country these days. That’s why it’s getting old. It’s an old alpha lion unwilling to take its place in the hall of champions. And see the world of the past die. Where one nation was always striving to be supreme. Which has and always will lead to cataclysmic wars.

Which anyone with a brain knows are simply no longer possible given the weapons that will be resorted to by any losing great power. There has to be another way.

Or it’s going to end it utter disaster. In that case. The silver schizos will be correct. Because we will be catapulted back centuries in the aftermath.

Yes that's my point. Restrictions on welfare lead to people gaming the system. Trying to solve it with more restrictions is stupid. I agree, the state should not legally compel private parties to subsidize welfare. The state should be more lenient with requirements if they want to offer welfare. I believe that the welfare should be handled by the church and charities like they were prior. They need to expand the system(and raise taxes), or get rid of it and let the private market fill the void. It’s causing too many issues that are bankrupting the country and ruining society. Gen Z men in America, for the most part, don’t want to have kids or get married because the way the system functions, and how they will get fucked over.

People have forgotten why governments took charge of welfare. It was because during and after WW2 they had serious problems recruiting and keeping industry running because the public was so unhealthy. Brits who worship the NHS as the ultimate alturism like to forget this fact (along with it not actually being free). It is also why socialism never caught on in the USA; it wasn't as affected by the war. Most Federal welfare programs began earlier in the wake of the Great Depression for similar reasons. The U.S governmnent has been slowly going back on this while plastering over the consequences by throwing massive amounts of people into prison. Ironically this is a welfare program anyway since they have to be fed and given medical care once in there. In fact, Americans have been known to commit crimes just to receive these "benefits"

> Iran has developed a diverse and layered anti-ship missile arsenal designed to challenge naval forces, particularly U.S. and allied vessels, in the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, and Arabian Sea. These systems range from short-range coastal defense weapons to long-range cruise missiles capable of threatening ships over 1,000 km away.
