I'm pursuing my hobbies. My backhand in tennis is leveling up daily and soon I'll get my purple belt in just jitsu.

Last night on my deck I was practicing moon breathing in the warm summer air. Then I did my kung fu katas and ran five miles.

I'm retired early because I chose to not have children and I don't think I'd change that

The cause of this war is South Korea.

South Korea is famous for Samsung and K-pop.

Because South Korea smuggled strategic materials into Iran, Iran was able to acquire weapons of mass destruction, including biological weapons.

AEP might have rugged prematurely. They sell all their crop to local mills in Indonesia who then produce the palm oil.
They may well be one stage removed from the government intervention.
Their rubber crop is not compromised and their Malaysian palm oil is still fine for export.
Market might be pricing in a bit too much fear here.

The thing is JP Morgan's talked about how the royal "they" all think there's going to be a deal by June 1st because that's when they think physical supply constraints start to really be a pain point. That's the basecase that's priced in by people in the futes.
But I don't expect oil to escape its current range as we approach that deadline. The June 1st number was magical thinking in the first place and they'll simply move the magical thinking date back.

So it's official. Investing on fundamentals doesn't work. You can buy some company with perfect financials (AEP literally had zero debt) and it rugs on news. Meanwhile tech stocks keep going up on momentum alone no matter what the news.

AEP baggies, I don't hold the stock but here's what I read:

They aren't outright banning palm oil exports, it seems like right now, they're just proposing that all exports have to go through the national wealth fund. They explain that currently, the government is missing out on taxes because companies declare exports at a lower value than they are in reality ('under-invoicing').

>during a speech to lawmakers on Wednesday, Prabowo announced that starting with palm oil, (...) would require all shipments to go through a government-created company. The effort, he said, was intended to curb “under-invoicing and under-accounting” and to have a greater say in price.

But it's not just the disruption of the free market that seems to be scaring traders, it's the signal that the president is taking more control over the commodities. Apparently, the current president is an ex-general and he has an unfriendly stance towards foreigners profiting from the country's resources. The government also has a recent history of forcibly seizing plantations, making them state-owned.

so in conclusion, thirdy dictator tier president fucking up the free market again. When will the browns learn they need us whites?

AEP doesn't even trade indonesian palm oil. It sells it's palm crop to local mills who then process it and the mills sell/export the oil.
It might be completely sheltered from this.
They still have their Malaysian palms and rubber plantations that are unaffected.

>May 20th News Release:
>We’re expanding the tools available to app advertisers to better automate the work that drives growth so they can stay focused on the outcomes that matter most to them.
>Max campaigns, now available in beta for app campaigns, are Reddit’s automated campaign type, built to optimize campaign settings for every impression. Across early split tests, Max app campaigns delivered an average 15% reduction in CPA and a 28% increase in results volume.4 That momentum is already showing up in advertiser results, with DocMorris seeing a 20% lower cost per install and a 73% lower purchase CPA.5
>“Max campaigns drive stronger performance with less manual work for app advertisers,” said Jyoti Vaidee, Reddit’s VP of Ads Product. “Powered by AI and Community Intelligence™, they improve efficiency through features like automated targeting, smart creative asset rotation, and Top Audience Personas reporting, giving marketers more ways to optimize every impression.”
>App Event Optimization helps advertisers move beyond installs and optimize toward the in-app conversions that matter most to their business, whether that is a sign-up, trial start, or purchase. By using machine learning on app event signals, it allows advertisers to reach users who are more likely to go beyond just installing the app. Now in GA, App Event Optimization has driven an average 22% improvement in CPA, proving it can lower costs while driving more meaningful business outcomes.6 AllTrails is a strong example, seeing a 28% lower Start Trial CPA and a 39% increase in Start Trial conversions
Maybe the market thinks RDDT's approach to ads isn't working? Either that or it's just a typical sell the news moment.

Yeah basically. At the end of the day you justify your value, in shares, such that you Own a Percentage of a Big Important Company. And that has value the same way gold or whatever has value, because it's Big and Important and an Institution and You get to own a part of it.
But the actual value would be in dividends if it's done growing. There's a ton of companies that are proud of their dividend aristocrat status. It's all gay and made up but it's great.

Share price is based on two things:
1. it's a coupon certifying you to own part of the business. Thus derives the value of the share.
2. The share price is based on how surprising the company is (either positively or negatively).
There are no other factors. This is not some figure of speech. There are no other factors. P/E etc. doesn't actually matter, it's not a mechanical factor determining the price of a share.
>>
>>62254222
Dividends were the original reason stock securities existed. Companies would sell ownership and that ownership would be paid parts of the profits of the company. Then the fact that ownership could get more valuable become vastly more profitable than the dividends to the point dividends stopped mattering for the majority of the stock market.

The only way it's different from a Ponzi scheme is that the company does actually exist and make money which your ownership entitles you to some part of. However, modern stocks can be completely divorced from the total assets of the real company with their market caps being worth several times what the company itself actually has any given moment. In that essence where stocks are valued more by sentiment than actual company value, it essentially becomes a community Ponzi scheme different in that there's no one perpetrator, but a whole bunch of independent people riding the wave together in a fucked game of chicken that might not actually ever end.

There's also voting rights, but god fuck the average nobody common person investor does anything with that.

Also, if the company goes bankrupt and they liquidate everything, you're entitled to your proportion of the proceeds, however usually stocks are setup that these go to very specific types of stock owners as the vast majority of stock is non-preferred.
