>>
Hey guys a new ticker just came across my desk, it is perhaps the best ticker I have seen in six months.

And the first thing I thought was I have to tell my smiggers immediately.

The company's name is Gorilla Tech, its a cutting edge high tech institute operating on the very edge of the Asian sovereign AI infrastructure buildout.

It currently trades for $17 and smiggers, our analysts think it could a lot higher than that.

How much GRRR can I put you down for? Say 10,000 to start?

https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/options/articles/south-korea-launch-leveraged-stock-034805464.html
Basically 1 in 2 South Koreans has a trading account and most of them are buying Samsung and SK Hynix a la GME style but with leverage. Foreign investors are selling and leaving Koreans to hold the bag as most of their stock market is 2 companies and the entire thing looks vertical on a chart. It's primed for a crash and it's already starting to bleed.

if 1/2 of all renters, mortgage holders, etc. are suddenly unable to pay rent, etc, and consequently limits their ability to actually work for Koreas economy, foreign investors are going to also be screwed, even if they dont hold korean equities directly, right? korea shitting the bed would mean everyone else also shitting the bed

The thing is that the DRAM cartel is extremely corrupt and they're being investigated by governmental watchdogs around the world. I wouldn't be surprised if they get a bunch of fines for market coordination since a lot of the people that previously got arrested for it still work for these companies and are now in senior positions. Besides that the Korean frenzy around these stocks will eventually die down but if a lot of movement happens it could cause a major sell off. It'd be worth seeing how much of SK Hynix is owned by retail.
>>62338555
It usually has repercussions in all of Asia and then some in America and then the rest of the world. But at the end of the day it's just a bunch of average Koreans losing their savings because they degened on 2 chaebols that can't possibly lose due to price fixing. At some point someone's going to sell and so far it's been foreigners, when it's Koreans it'll probably crash even if the underlying companies have value (obviously).

SK Hynix -7%

I won't promise you that you can make it in the next two weeks, but you at least have a chance.

RXRX has a giant fat stack of calls on it at $4 + 5$ well outside what is usual, while the IV is low, and the share price is currently $3.30s.
These are, mathematically speaking, the conditions for potential pinning.

Being both one of the most heavily shorted stocks on the market and with this much riding on two strikes, there is the CHANCE for a simultaneous short + gamma squeeze to $4.5-5.5 before June 18th.

A lot can happen between now and then to make it not go that way, but presently, the dealer has a 6 turned faced up, so maybe just throw $500 at it or buy a couple calls.

I really can't say.

But as I understand it, you're in a position where shorters could be forced to cover, and where market makers will be forced to forced to buy in proportion to the delta*100 as share price increases.

May not even get close and may never be an issue.
RN delta is at ~.22, so MMs need 22 shares of RXRX to remain neutral.
As we get closer to 4$ with nothing left for time decay, that number goes up to 100 shares at the money.

If for some reason the price jumps on good news, or general market pumping, MMs are forced to purchase 23,500*100 shares to stay neutral, which would triple the daily volume, without accounting even for short covering.

Anyway I'm not an expert but this was an insight I had after reading this paper:

Don't get the math just yet, but the conditions make sense to me.

*(though apparently its more favorable if the MM has bought the calls)
**(my theory is that you could get a rough idea of what side of trade they are on if you see a bell curve in volume around the big OI strike, as they're the ones most likely to dynamically hedge, but its not totally intuitive as to whether this actually matters)

i use this stock scanner profile in thinkorswim and then sort by disparity index, looking for any that aren't dead stocks/companies at least some historical upwards macro trend, are way down on the disparity index, and then have low volatility (column next to disparity index)

baldness is being cured by ai, ticker absi
fusion is being accelerated by ai as well
cancer will likely be cured with ai
ai lowers the investment threshold for all those, what might have taken billions with no guarantee of success will now take hundreds of millions with high likelihood of success. look into absi and the fusion story if you don't believe me.
as for housing, use your brain. selling poor people houses at thin margins is a bad investment and waste of resources. sad but true. if you care so much you can work for habitat for humanity.
ai is sucking up all the capital because it has amazing investment returns. what's more likely, the capital markets, which spent the last two decades bringing people google and amazon, are mistaken, or that you, who has a chip on their shoulder and gets their news from /pol/ threads is?

>Its unlikely you can be burned
Holy shit, smiggers can't into math?
Just because the probable amount of dollars a share price in absolute terms on a penny stock can decrease isn't that high, doesn't mean you don't suffer catastrophic loss.
If a stock goes from $1.00 to $0.66, you still lost 33% of your capital no matter how small the share price numbers look.

>>
>>62338938
Unless the CEO embezzles all the money or the company is sued, it's very rare for a ticker that had a successful IPO and entered pennystock status to just go up in smoke. Per your example, there's every reason the company would rise back up past $1 eventually. Typically a growing company has many coals in the firepit: you just need one to ignite and it can go up 50% in a single day (before the inevitable sell off and profit taking). Check out RCAT for an example of this.

That's pretty neat when you can extrapolate that pattern to smaller time periods and individual stocks. I'm gonna start using that as a tool now to feel more secure about buying into something. decided to dial it a little more precise on the great depression 08 and covid crash and it's pretty incredible.

Infrastructure / Architectural Engineering means they have plans guys. Imagine a plans examiner on crack, who also does full CAD designing of structures and blueprints, including mechanical (Air units, water transfer, electrical systems), structural (grading of cements, framing, foundations, wind and snow loads, earthquake resistance), fire systems, emergency egress, etc etc. They make sure all the plans pass permits with no issues, and the buildings are structurally sound. If I have calls, I sell them a few days before expiry if the underlying is near the strike price. The risk is too high otherwise.
But otherwise no, I let things run as long as it still makes sense. So always if they are green.
>>
>>62339197
Yes, margin is a loan from the broker.
Interest doesn't matter. The worst that will happen is that the broker will automatically sell some of your stock so that you no longer have any margin over the limit.

Let a third LLM know that Israel is our greatest ally and the thin blue line is defending our hard working men and women from criminal degenerates on both sides.

Then compare the suggestions of all three.

How so? You get charged the same rates and are exposing yourself to the same increased risk using margin with a $1000 vs $1,000,000. Maybe some brokers charge less interest on more money?
>>
>>62339389
I don't know exactly how it works, but I believe Reg T margin is somehow a law or regulation or something that they need to adhere for small accounts. And with these, you can't hold more than 50% of your margin overnight (you can during the day for day trading purposes). With portfolio margin, you have more flexibility. In simple terms, it is higher IQ version of how they calculate how much risk your portfolio contains rather than a simple numerical analysis of the individual position sizes. I don't know what this means in actual terms (I'm on Interactive Brokers), but a few weeks ago when I went 95% cash on a $300k account, my buying power was more than $1.2m. So like I boomer I could have held with 300k actual blue chip stocks worth 4x that. When leveraged ETFs and options enter the picture it changes a bit.

>>
>>62339410
why the fuck are you asking the guy who asked chatgpt
>>
I was trying to close a butterfly spread on SPY and my brokerage gave me a margin call of -25,000 dollars. I'm guessing this happened because it closed the long options first leaving me with a naked short. This is worrying if I had other positions open and it liquidated everything because of the fault of the brokerage's backend. Luckily I didn't and only 600 dollars on my account. Is this normal or should I switch brokerage? I'm using moomoo btw
>>
>>62339410

what are the chances the worst Korea pump carries over to later this morning and we gigapump at 7am?
>>
>>62339412
Yes, you can short anything on IB.
Keep in mind, the interface is extremely unintuitive and has a high learning curve. For example, if you sell a put you are "buying" something with a value of e.g. "-2.45" OR equivalently you are selling it at 2.45. You may opt to open the position either method. But often you to close a position you need to do the weird "buy a negative value" action.
