it's not that dire, we could reduce exports and higher prices both lowers consumption and spurs production, there's room for both if things get worse. you're right to be concerned but this isn't end of days stuff, you've been blowing things out of proportion for too long and overworrying darling. i don't know if everything is going to be ok or not but for now it is and i have hope it will remain that way.

there's an interesting conspiracy that we actually want the strait closed, want tighter oil markets, to strengthen and foster dependency on our market and security umbrella. lloyd's has more control over the strait than tehran does and they're the ones keeping it closed with high insurance rates after all, and there doesn't seem to be any rush to drill more domestically. not sure if i totally buy it but it's consistent with the facts.

The roids orbit needs to be perfect to have any chance of success, you have to divert it at the very tippy top of its orbit when velocity is slowest, and again, it is absurdly, unbelievably expensive.

The problem extends to bots too.

Heavy metal ore is heavy.
And also, you are assuming all of that ore will be equally distributed, and not that the heavy goodies have sunk to the core of the proto planetoid, which is theoretical.

You are not mining asteroids.

Yes Mr. Retard.

High mass. Heavy. You need a lot of fuel to move it, even in space.

The margin on excess fuel is very low for most probes, and you need to make them bigger and bigger and bigger to actually move something other than the probe, making it more and more expensive.

Do you know about the HALO trade?

Heavy Assets Low Obsolescence HALO

It's become basically the counter AI trade. HALO companies are companies with high capital costs, and heavy assets. And big moats. Like a manufacturing company, like Ford or some shit, or Walmart. It's had a low correlation with the AI trade. There's some new HALO etfs, but they have like 70 bps fees or some shit.

I'll show you a HALO ETF with dirt cheap fees.

SCHD. It's not a perfect HALO tracker but it's like 90% there. And for only 6 bps fee. And it's value companies, and as long as the AI is momentum, it'll be negatively correlated with AI during most markets. The HALO trade is attractive as well because of the high capital costs and physical infrastructure needed to operating these companies is not something AI can make obsolete.

The top 10 holdings in SCHD:

Abbott Laboratories (ABT) – 4.66%Amgen Inc. (AMGN) – 4.41%Merck & Co., Inc. (MRK) – 4.35%The Coca-Cola Company (KO) – 4.32%UnitedHealth Group Incorporated (UNH) – 4.30%The Home Depot, Inc. (HD) – 4.10%The Procter & Gamble Company (PG) – 3.95%Chevron Corporation (CVX) – 3.90%Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ) – 3.80%PepsiCo, Inc. (PEP) – 3.78%

With SOXX, you have extreme over concentration risk. Theoretically, if it looks like semi earnings are slowing down, you won't be able to get out, and SOXX could go for an 80% drawdown.

Weekly EIA watch compressed.

* Commercial crude jumped 17.4m barrels, but this was largely explained by imports surging 1.14m b/d while exports fell 627k b/d. Not as bearish as the headline suggests.

* SPR fell another 6.1m barrels. This is the strongest crude stress signal and shows the strategic buffer is still being used aggressively.

* Refineries remain near maximum: 17.18m b/d crude runs and 96.2% utilisation. Gulf Coast is at 97.9%, Midwest 98.6%. Very little spare refining capacity.

* Gasoline inventories fell 1.0m barrels and remain around 6% below the five-year average. Underlying production actually increased after removing the gasoline adjustment. Supportive for gasoline cracks.

* Distillate production increased to 5.28m b/d, yet inventories barely moved and remain roughly 12% below normal. Strong evidence that high refinery output still isn’t rebuilding diesel stocks. Supportive for diesel/HO cracks.

* Jet inventories fell sharply by 1.7m barrels while demand jumped. Four-week demand remains 3.8% above last year. Strong product-market flare.

* US petroleum-product exports surged to 8.67m b/d. America is increasingly supplying overseas markets while its own gasoline and diesel inventories remain tight.

* Domestic demand isn’t booming. Four-week total product supplied is 2.1% below last year. Tightness is primarily a global supply/export story.

Conclusion: Ignore much of the huge crude build; tanker timing explains it. The important picture is SPR depletion, near-max refineries, exceptionally low diesel stocks, falling gasoline/jet inventories and enormous product exports. If Hormuz disruption persists, the US refining system is working extremely hard as the global shock absorber. Bullish refiners and particularly supportive for diesel/jet cracks.

I'm already invested my smigga. Though not in eastern Poland, just handpicked gamedev stocks. Might find some index ETF in the future and put some cash into that, if those even exist for their market.
