New to metals here, for silver stacking Is there really a big difference between random 1 oz rounds vs something premium like the American Silver Eagles?

My preference is for newly-minted gov't-issued bullion coins that comprise series of annual changes in design.
- Coins have a potential for numismatic increase that can be far greater and come sooner than for generic bullion. This is especially true for coins with patterns that change from year to year. When a coin is no longer minted and dealers run out of them, the secondary markets (including you) sell at much higher premiums.
- Some countries waive VAT or other taxes on purchases or imports of coins as opposed to generic. This is one reason we see Pacific and Caribbean island nations, Cameroon, Ghana, and Somalia among many others that prolifically produce coins: they grant private mints license to mint under their jurisdiction for a part of the take, and is partly why such coins have a higher premium.
- Coins have a provenance carrying a guarantee of consistent purity and quality: what's stamped on them is what you get. At least get items stamped by a reputable refiner or mint. Don't rely on the stamp of some shyster's garage hammer pound.

Generic bars are safe, and some say silver will 'moon' in price. This may be true, but it will also apply to coins.
>>
>>62753817
Premiums are a classic jewish trick. Precious metals aren't collectible because they're in a specific shape. Stack generic rounds or bars.
>>
>>62753825
>>62753830
Thanks that's what i was figuring, What do you prefer between bars / rounds. Any preference or just whats cheaper at the time
>>
>>62753817
Being recognizable is a big thing to consider. Some people just see an ounce of silver and some see a priceless artifact for the collection.

I prefer the shape of bars, but there are far fewer designs that are interesting. They're most often stamped with a minter's/refiner's mark, rather than any art. I like to photograph the stuff, so I prefer nice designs, and that leads to the round shape - coins or generic.

Monday morning pump
Let's see if this week gets interesting
>>
Would you get old gold coins or modern 22 karat coins if you wanted to start stacking coins that don't wear and can be handled?
>>
>>62754115
I wouldn't worry about "wear and handling" unless dealing with numismatics
I would be more interested in what the dealers and mainly the refineries are prioritizing.
Whatever the demand is on refineries, that could lead the demand at the retail metals buying market
>>
>>62753817
Stack the cheapest generic silver coins or constitutional silver that you possibly can. I don't bother with bullion coins for silver. The premiums will never be worth it.
>>
>>62754119
I'm not stacking to sell. This is for trade for something like land or livestock.
>>
>>62753817
I've only sold silver (coin and bullion) a few times. Most times I just got a base price per oz on the whole lot. Usually just spot price or a bit over spot but not much.

Talking non-numidmatyics still, but even selling BU or UNC almost BU, ASEs, never did I get more that a doller or two over spot.

Translation: if you buy ASEs or the like, there's a 99% chance you will eat the premium you paid, when you go to sell.
Local coin dealers are not paying spot + premium for even BU ASEs. They are offering near spot
>>
>>62754124
Well then that could depend your local private market. Of course some people might prefer old pre-1933 US Gold coinage, I would.
>>
>>62754124
>This is for trade for something like land or livestock.

>>
Imagine being dumb enough to prep in the modern era. I could never take the time and energy to prep knowing that me and my family will be slaughtered by drones. No issues with stacking but you should get some Link too. It’s not the 1960’s where you can just fuck off to some offshoot rancher community and life out your days fucking your whore wife with 8 kids milking cows. Give yourself options instead of cornering yourself to live like hillbillies. I don’t want to see you guys slaughtered on tv running thru the woods with your silver stacks like Ukrainians got butchered
>>
>>62754020
Yes, but only for you. You'll have to sell your questionably aged daughters to a jeet. A family make it stack should be 2000 oz.

I'm guessing it's like 95% male but why? Women famously like shiny things and trinkets, why aren't they more interested? Do they just tend to stack jewellery instead of bullion?

>>
>>62754250
Women definitely stack jewelry. Or at least, I buy my GF a lot of jewellery. I've stacked like 8 grams of 14k jewellery and 25 grams of sterling silver for her in the past month. She knows the value of it all and how to get her moneys worth if she ever needs to sell it. Most women are suckers though.
A lot of men own jewelry as well. Including watches with gold parts.
Depends what you count as "stacking".

Depends, I'd shoot for 500oz while prices are low or go lower. In a scenario where you "make it" much of your 200 oz will be spent on your personal survival, you'll buy goods hyper inflated some that contain silver driving prices even higher. Consider what your life would look like at $250 silver and if that was you're only real money for the year.

Then max out my ROTH at the beginning of next year. I'll buy some more gram bars in the meantime. But I was buying $1,000 - $1,400 of PM's for the last two months. Tone it down to like $500 a month.

The weight and diameter are legit. Pings a solid tone. Did magnet test. Just need the dealers sigma machine to confirm 100% so I can sleep well at night.

Carson city Morgan's are more valuable because of their extreme low mintage numbers and powerful connection to the American Wild West. IIRC that mint was only running for about 20 years or so.

The only difference is that theoretically you can get the secret service involved in taking down a counterfeit ASE ring vs you get stuck with fake bullion from China.
>>
>>62755969
Wow, that is really cool. Nice coins friend.

Look, unlike thirdies who literally just existed for the last 10,000 years unchanged by time. Our ancestors have the blood memory of this happening only in global economies for the last 1000 years; of which you are not apart of.
My grandfather was born into the Great Depression, my 7x great lost everything land speculating the American revolution, we have an ancestor way back who famously traded his birthright for a meal.
We don’t expect (((you))) to understand.
>>
>>62756295
They make fake Morgan's, ASEs and even Bob's infamous ashtray in Chyna. The secret service cant do shit even if they wanted to (they dont)

The solution is always SLV
>>
>>62756330
Morgan’s aren’t currency anymore.
ASE do get enough stings where fakes are hard to find
>>

Honest answers first before shitposting. Should I write a book on sound money and why we should go back to using them as a currency?
>>
>>62755031
This is retarded desu. I’m stacking based on the old measurements. What is it? Like a silver dime is equal to a days wage roughly? So 14 dimes (denarius) = 1 oz of silver.

So 1 oz of silver HISTORICALLY = 2 weeks of wages.

Now I’m not saying it’s gonna be EXACTLY that. Maybe it’s 1 oz of silver = 5-7 days wages. Still a lot for 1 ounce (hence the undervalued nature of silver we all talk about)

If you have 500 ounces of silver and it goes to $250 per ounce, that’s $125,000. In fiat that nothing. Thats an above average wage slave. It wouldn’t even be worth stacking if that was the end game and the value will mirror the dollars value now.

500 ounces would have to be enough to buy multiple homes at least for it to make it all worth it to stack in a revaluation.

500 ounces is 30k. 30k isn’t a lot but 500 ounces is. It’s not possible logistically to buy 5,000 ounces or whatever as an investment purpose for even those that are interested….500 ounces is a LOT
>>
>still not $50
I believe in it, CAM ON
>>
>>62756765
Believing dumb shit like this ruins lives.

The average wage in 1960 was 8000 ounces so 500 ounces is nothing maybe buy rice and beans for a few months.

You need 140,000 ounces to make it but you won't make it because you are lazy

Why would anyone want a thread of 100% silver shills unless you were a coin merchant? (Narrator:they are in fact coin merchants)

Go to the other threads of biz there are people who like gme and those who dont, same for link, 5 people told iqelite he was a moron for buying brazil stocks, did he cry for censorship?, no, he bought and made a huge profit in a week. Grow up! Make a profit is how you win
