Now that the con is over heres my reviewPros:>Artist Alley had good artists>The Vibe was immaculate and fun Friday and Saturday>Panels were interesting and varied and funny as fuck sometimes>Cosplays were on point and there were a lot of good ones>Price of the con was pretty good for what I got>Interactive shit like Board Games, and the Foam Fighting was actually fun and better than Midwest>The Arcade and Gaming Room were also better than MidwestsCons:>Map was hidden behind the guide book app, and never showed several rooms including Sake Tasting, Special Guest, Main Event Stage, and several unmarked rooms actually DID have shit in them>Panels needed to be longer by another 30 minutes to an hour sometimes and some were rushed at the end because of time constraints, while others ran OVER and never got kicked out>Several panels were moved last minute (I literally checked thursday night only to find Friday Morning they got moved when I walked into a bunch of fat gossiping women talking about some BL anime, when I just wanted to go to a tierlist)>Some of the main events were poorly hosted and shitty like the Cosplay Contest and Rave>The area of the con was SO god damn far, and they should have rented Hall A, and did what Midwest did and funnel people into the con's restaurant to get to the Hyatt, because that 10 minute walk wasnt funOverall, the con was very fun and minor nitpicks won't bring me down too much. I really don't think that the cosplay meetups need to be scheduled in 90 minute blocks and I definitely think they have the space to run at least two at a time. My schizo theory after looking at it, is Anime Magic is trying to compete with Kopfs cons.They've been growing at an extreme rate over 5 years.My guess is this recent one (and the one last year) hit Kopf numbers, so they figured they could expand into his space and offer a more premium con experience than him.There's basically no noteable cons between October and the end of December, which means people will go to Anime Ink'd before Con Alt Delete in most cases. (especially when its becoming wider known that he's a pedo groomer).Plus being in a slot where nothing is happening, means they can get bigger guests which drive in more attendance.
