The ones that do this are the "professionals" who charge for photos and wander around cons in full costume surrounded by handlers who get in the way so no one can get a decent shot.
>>10940093That's strange, because the "professionals" I've encountered (ones who are selling photos of their previous cosplay and clearly have a following) are actually okay with a free pic and pose.They have alot of people with higher quality camera and equipment surrounding though and they usually take an hour to finish so waiting can be a pain.

I had this happen at my last convention.I'd already been really scared of asking people for pictures, but finally I got the courage, and then the third person I asked said no, and after that I only got one more picture through all of the convention.I guess there weren't that many people cosplaying characters I cared about anyway, so maybe I wouldn't have taken many more photos anyway, but still.

Never experienced this, you must have caught them in a bad mood.One time i did wanted a picture with someone walking and kept calling them for 5 minutes and they just wont notice and then i gave up.

>>10940078Don't take it so personally. Cosplayers are people too - they get tired, hungry, they run late for things, they might be busy trying to meet up with someone, they might just be grumpy. Just say something like "Aw ok, I really like your costume though, have a nice rest of your con" and move on. Be a good sport.

I was at a con on Saturday and got around 10 pictures with other people, noone refused so either I got lucky or I'm not unpleasant. here's one of the pictures I took with tifa

I've been attending anime conventions for over a decade and I had little problem asking for photos. anxiety may have built up for the last few years but I have to overcome it everytime. Because deep inside if I dont get that photo I will never have that chance.
