How much are orange-tip weapon requirements actually enforced at cons? Generally
At Anime Expo they will get on your case for it. At most conventions they don't really care unless it's a realistic looking gun.
I brought a wood bat to some local con and nobody challenged me once
>>10940413find a way around it, like a window or a wall that you can use to get just the gun in while inside, the megathots and "chads" got to learn one way or another
>>10940413I’ve been to some in Rosemont, 2 things you need to consider.1. Are you participating in the cosplay contest?2. Are you going to be drawing notable attention from security? If you answered yes to any of those questions, do not bring a real firearm. If you answered no to both, I wrapped the top of my barrel and bottom of its magazine of my rifle in cheap orange tape and no one batted an eye. Not even a prop check before you even go in. For some there is a prop check but they just put a ribbon around the trigger. And most importantly do not accidentally bring ammunition. If anyone does bother you just say it’s a deactivated movie prop. That’s all, have fun Anon.
