What some good pesto variants? I've tried basil and coriander both ended up being excellent.
>>20425734Red pesto with sundried tomatoes.
>>20425734Instead of basil, use flat-leaf parsley. Omit the nuts. Don't ground the leaves, but instead finely cop them. Add garlic, shallot, red wine vinegar, and olive oil.
>>20425770Saw that at the fancy food market downtown earlier today and wondered if it was good or not. Is it less mild than typical pesto?
>>20425824It isn't spicy at all if that's what you're asking. It's more sour in the same way that concentrate tomato paste is. I like it personally.
>>20425770based>>20425734If you want to level all the way up you can just make pesto out of literally any herbs you want.>rosemary>thyme>sage>chives, scallions>dillAll good
>>20425734good options! i like to make one with pepperonchini, anchovy and 25/75 walnuts to pinenuts. i once tried to make a SUPER green one, where i used 50/50 pistachios and pine nuts. if you wanna get reeeeal cheffy with it, i also cooked the olive oil in some blended up spinach. if you do it for about 7 minutes on 60-80 degrees, while blending it gets a super brilliant green hue. and then pour the mix into a bag, and let it hang so it separates into water, plant-paste and oil, and strain it out. CRAZY color, the pesto you get from this just pisses beauty on anything you cook it
>>20425734mint and basil, no nuts and a small amount of garlic
>>20425734There are lots of different types of basil. I like to use lemon basil for my pesto.

>>20425734>What some good pesto variants?I've had pesto that was made without any nuts. Probably my favorite out of the pestos I've tried. But I personally don't like most nutty tastes.
