Pureed, diced or whole tomataoes in a tin, is there any difference?

You just listed the differences, you complete mongoloid

No. There's just a difference in fresh or tinned.
>>
yes
pureed has a weird gloopy texture that will never go away
don't buy it at all
mainly you want whole, crush them by hand, or use an immersion blender if you want something smoother
diced tomatoes are useful for when you want small, even chunks of tomato in something like a casserole, soup, or other dish.
I tend to keep both petite diced (regular is pretty big) and whole canned on hand.

puree's a weird mix between paste (which is more heavily cooked and very thick from reduction) and other forms of tomato. I never keep it on hand

Pureed is my favorite. If you like a smooth and creamy pasta sauce you can make one that is delicious in the time it takes to cook your pasta. Don't listen to the pureelets.

I prefer whole as you basically get to decide how the texture is
>>
I prefer whole because they can't sneak inferior tomatoes into the can, disguising them by destroying their original shape and texture.

yes, get whole or polpa, skip diced
