Taco Bell had a special (Don't know if it was across the country or local) when the crunchwrap very first returned, they were 25 cents each but you were only supposed to get 1 per customer.

>Drive up late at night
>Shit you guys still got any crunchwraps left did I miss the sale?
>Actually nobody really showed up
>Can I get uhhhhhhhhh like eight of them?
>Well it's supposed to be one per ticket but I can ring up eight orders sure pull forward
He was a nice guy, I ate crunchwraps for days.

I was living off of $40 a month for food at the time moving from rented room to rented room so I almost cried having so much food at one time.

Makes me sad. When the bars would give last call, you could run out for some double-decker tacos and a chicken quesadilla for a laughable amount of cash. Plus a grilled stuffed burrito to go in the fridge for the next day. Most of those things are either gone forever or 5x as much now.

>I was living off of $40 a month for food at the time moving from rented room to rented room so I almost cried having so much food at one time.
I had to do a single class in summer school at college and my parents had cut me off so I had no money, I was eating one cup of noodles a day and lost like 25 lbs in a month. I was writing my final paper and started shaking so bad I couldn't type, so I ate a box of old cereal just to get enough energy to type.

My roommate's parents heard about this and ordered me a large pizza and 40 wings the next night and I seriously almost cried. It's wild how emotional you can get when you're that hungry.

If young people got to live a single day in the 1980s they would revolt when they returned to the present.

From the time Taco Bell started selling Baja Blast to the time when I stopped eating at Taco Bell many years later, I don't remember the Baja Blast ever not being labeled "New!"

They’re still the same, too.

>>20694801
i never found a reason to go there except for the dollar menu. there's a hundred mexican restaurants in my city (probably literally) so they already beat the price and quality of taco bell here.

Even the cheese roll up is $1.25 now.
I miss getting a big bag of bell slop for $10 that fed me and my stoner friends.
Times were better, then.
>>
My favorite food from Taco Bell is the Chicken Quesadilla. I was in middle school when they were introduced and they were $1.99. In OP's pic they're $2.39. They're currently $5.19.

For me it was Del taco. I was living off a bag of rice and whatever picked fruit/ dumpster treasures my roommates could find.
But every Tuesday it was 39 cent tacos and I'd order 30 for around 12 bucks. I'd ask for 100 packets of sauce and I'd use them all. We'd eat like kings for 2 days and shit like peasants for 2 more but it was so worth it to eat meat and cheese for a few meals.

Del Taco is fun. I've only gotten to try it a few times, back when my company had me flying to suburban Detroit for work. I like that they have burgers and fries. Fries were a nice add on to any meal. I liked their hot sauces better than Taco Bell's too.

We had a couple of those in my area for about a year back in like 2012 or so. I remember going to them and thinking it was away better than Taco Bell and something else I forgot, since I only got to go about twice before they all inexplicably shut down with ZERO mentions. Just suddenly the sign was gone and the building was empty.
I think the one I used to go to is a Chipotle now. What a loss.

Yeah they were a nice in-between. I lived in Kansas City for a while and we had our own version called Taco Bueno, similar menu. They don't seem to be too common outside the Midwest though
>>
>>20699567
We have those all over the place. Not as many as back in the 90's but they're still around. I've found that it's hit or miss for people who love them. For some reason people love the more cartoony Taco Bell/Taco Casa than them. But you can't beat the Muchacho. Dem beans.
>>
A taco from taco casa contains at least 10 Taco Bell tacos amount of meat

I been making my own food at home but I decided since I'd heard of that street chalupa menu I would try and order some.

Apparently in my area at least the menu lasted four days and in fact flew off into the sunset on the very day I was arsed enough to try and order it.

Four days?!

Del Taco in my area was awesome. They closed down during COVID and now it's a Starbucks, but during the 08 financial crisis, the lady there used to hook me up. I could barely afford rent and gas...so I would get a dollar ice tea and she would let me fill it up with whatever I wanted. I think they eventually fired her for it because she was gone one day, and no one working there wanted to even bring her up.
