What is your fav/best pickle recipe?
Been growing a ton of cucumbers and want to start pickling them.

Current recipe
>1/2 cup vinegar (7% acetic acid)
>1 cup water
>1/2 teaspoon sugar
>3 teaspoons salt

>4/5 whole peppercorns
>5 pricks of fresh dill weed
>1 smashed clove of garlic
>4 medium cucumbers sliced

Tastes pretty good for the first try.

I also want to try making fermented ones, not big on super sugary sweet ones but love dill.

I like doing an assortment of veggies so that they're good for other things. Go as crazy as you want, I mostly just do cucumber and jalapeno and maybe serrano. Fresno is fine too, it obviously looks better, but I just like having one jar that has slightly hot pickles, and then pickled peppers to also use. Really, pickle game has really picked up and because they last nearly forever, I just pick up a jug of Grillo's or something because I'm lazy.

Generally vinegar (including heinz, im a french's patriot) is 5% which is fine, I saw pickling vinegar and thought id grab it but any normal viNigger will do!

How long does it take for the spices flavor to infuse? I make quick pickles like carrot and red onion and tried adding seasonings once but they didnt do anything in the short time frame.
