How the fuck do I barbecue chicken? Someone asked me to grill the drumsticks and I don't know what I'm doing. Please help they're already half done

Should have been marinated in something acidic. Italian dressing works best in a pinch, but I like making my own.
Should have been periodically glazing in barbecue sauce.
Should be on indirect heat.
>>
>>20698422
See my dad told me to put them on direct flame at maximum heat
>>
Eat raw
Nothing bad
Promise
Trust 4chan man

Dark meat is always better when cooked low and slow. There's a lot more fat in there than in chicken breast, so you need to break it down by cooking it for 0:45-1:00.

>Please help they're already half done
ok so now cook until they're fully done. hope this helps

I always tell people they need to be getting salmonella in their young adult years so that their body builds immunity.
>>
>>20698428
generally what you do is put it on a hot flame for a couple minutes just to get a good sear, and then move it to indirect heat or turn the heat down, and slowly cook it from there. the inside will take longer to cook than the outside.

so basically once it has some color move it over to the side off the flame, close the lid and let cook for a bit

>They're a little blackened
thats why you do this
>>20698440
>>20698436

but it's not terrible for a first attempt if you didn't know what you were doing
>>
>>20698464
That looks pretty good. The blackened part is limited to the boney part.
>>
>>20698464
Those look fine. Test out different techniques and see what works for you, and enjoy the ride

This is my goto method
>Pat dry
>Salt the fuck out of them the day before, refrigerate overnight
>Take out of the fridge and add pepper + garlic powder, rub with a little bit of oil if it doesn't stick
>Put on the grill on indirect heat side for 90 mins, occasionally spray with more oil
Wala, nice and crispy
>>
>>20698590
it is easy, just takes a while. like 20-30 mins. not including the time to light the charcoal.
>>
>>20698464
Those look good as fuck. Love chewing on that black shit.
>>
Boil them for 40min in sauce and just use the grill make the surface crisp.
>>
>>20698414
I usually grill over embers lamb and pork etc and add the chicken and legumes or fish when the embers are softened up.
>>
>>20698422
>Should have been periodically glazing
Glaze it towards the end you don't want your chicken soggy or that burnt glaze, burnt glaze is nasty.
>>
>>20698464
Probably raw in the middle.
>>
>>20698428

Your dad gets his ass glazed
>>
>>20699015

>>
>>20698428
