Who was the greatest to ever grace Kitchen Stadium?
>>
>>20845084
Sakai
He has the highest win rate with the longest tenure, though technically Michiba has a slightly higher win rate, but he was only in less than 40 episodes, whereas Sakai was in 86 episodes.
>>
>>20845090
Ishinabe has the highest win rate (7-1). I think it's very close between Sakai and Michiba, but I'm partial to Michiba's calligraphy.
>>
>>20845096
Ishinabe was never in the conversation and doesn't count for obvious reasons.
>>
>>20845084
Do they live in the walls when they’re not being used?
>>
>>20845104
I know; I'm just pointing out that his win rate is the highest.
>>
>>20845084
green ranger always wins
>>
One thing I never understood is who Kwee-Son is supposed to be. He’s like the anime boss master who never shows his skills but you know he can fuck everybody up in the kitchen if need be. It was weird as kid when I didn’t know anime to see this Kweeson that I’m supposed to respect but they gave no reason to respect him other then because they said so.
>>
>>20845084
Always amazes me that Michiba is still alive because he looked old even when I was a kid. Always also forget that Kobe is dead. Our man Chen died last year too. Feels bad.

Fukui (guy on the right) was the main commentator. The other commentator was Dr Hattori (on the left). They'd also have a guest commentator who would typically be a celebrity, often actors or singers; the girl in the middle here was an actress. Ohta (not pictured) was the kitchen reporter, and his job was basically to go back and forth between the iron chef and the challenger to figure out exactly what they were planning, what ingredients they were using and their general thoughts. He'd stay in contact with the commentary team to confirm or correct their commentary, or just report on what he's observed. Whenever he would interrupt, he'd address the main commentator Fukui, by saying "Fukui-san".
>>
>>20845153
>Always amazes me that Michiba is still alive
don't jinx it, the man is 93 and needs all the well wishes he can get.
>>
>>20845156
No, no. The guy who introduced the show and bit the raw bell pepper is Kweesan. The commentator would always say KWEESAN when he asked Kweesan about stuff or commented directly to him. Kweesan was the Kitchen Stadium director or boss.
>>
>>20845212
No, the host (who bites the pepper) was Chairman Kaga. He was not a commentator.
>>
>tfw we'll never see this kind of culinary power again
>>
>>20845246
I meant the commentator would always yell out KWEESAN and say something to Chairman Kweesan but Kweesan never did anything or proved why he should be the Chairman. He was just there.
>>
who the fuck was Quison?
>>
>>20845268
the chairman was the only guy that wasn't dubbed. quison was the virgin commentator with glasses
>>
>>20845156
>"FUKUI-SAN!"
>>
>>20845334
So was the Chairman who bit the bell pepper yelling out QUISAN!? And if so who was QUISAN?

As a kid I liked Hiroyuki Sakai the most, as an adult I came to realise Chen Kenichi was the best chef

>"I asked Iron Chef Chen what he thought about the theme ingredient and he just looked at me with an exasperated face and said 'I'll do what I can but I'm really floundering here.' He seemed like he was really hoping for a different ingredient, he looks really flustered!"
>1 hour later produces absolutely exquisite dishes

>>20845551
>>20845268
you mean CUISINE?
>>
>>20845622
Chef Chen always looked like his career was about to end at any moment while whipping up meals fit for the emperor.
>>
>>20845084
Chef Morimoto.
>>
>>20845746
isn't his name croissant
>>
The older episodes are so funny. Cooking styles and methods were so dated.
>>
>>20845212
Ohta was the "field reporter" dude who would get on the floor, speak with the chefs, take a look at things, and report back to Fuqui-san who was the main commentator.
>>
>>20845583
>"I spoke to OP but his mouth was so full of cocks I couldn't really understand him. It seems he's a faggot as always."

>"Man alive, multiple cocks? Wonder how OP is going to deal with that."
>>
>any ingredient
>makes ice cream out of it
Show was fun but it gets repetitive fast.

>Challenger is a fatass
>Commentators absolutely refuse to stop cracking fat jokes about him
They were such fucking pricks all the time, it was great. Since they're Japanese they don't react to any insult but they're constantly dogging on each other.
>>
>>20845107
They're under the floor.
>>
>>20845915
It reminds me how Iron Chef America was so boring compare to the OG. It's mixed martial cooking that every Iron Chefs use same modern utensils and almost the same modern techniques. Chen and non-Morimoto Japanese chefs are more fun to watch.
>>
>>20846258
Did they do non-fish meat ice creams?
>>
>>20846432
>Challenger weighs over 150lbs
>They act like he's morbidly obese
I love Japan.
>>
>>20845084
Is this like a super sentai themed cooking competition show?

>If my memory serves me correctly, the fast food gourmands of 4chan's /ck/ board have this to say about those who consume the products made of this erect, branching plant's beans:
>YOU WILL NEVER BE A WOMAN

Probably Tommy. He got to be the green AND the white one. And tigers/dragons are infinitely cooler than dumb-ass dinosaurs, the feather-havin' faggot-ass bitches.
>>

>QUISAN
youre mishearing fukui-san
>>
>>20847001
No, Chen had the most battles, and was the only Iron Chef to be present throughout the show's entire run, however his win rate was below the French chefs and Michiba.

There's an episode where Sakai and Michiba are on a team and Sakai does the menu writing. His calligraphy was pretty good.
>>
i skip all episodes that don't have mayuko in them
>>
>>20848096
Which one is that?
>>
>>20848845
Mayuko Takata
>>
>>20849150
Didn't she once get owned by Michiba during the judging? She was complaining, and he told her if she didn't like it she could go to the kitchen and make it herself or something like that. Anyone know the episode?

lmao just watched it. I'd never seen one of the chefs rip into one of the panel.
>>
>>20845084
Why did nobody ever challenge iron chef italian? It's like he only exists to be in the intro of the show.
>>
>Kitchen Stadium is the arena where Iron Chefs await the challenges of master chefs from all over the world
>show big, black chef striding in
>show qt blonde chef entering arena
Yet every actual challenger is just some random jap. Were these chefs from the intro ever in any eps?

I never said it was nationality.

Did you think there was a nation of patissiers? Or Sommeliers?
>>
>>20845926
Ok then who was the Kitchen Master who bites the pepper in the intro? Did he just never appear aside from the intro?

Sore loser, but he still shouldn't have lost against chef Borie. Dude decided to only cook one dish with the theme ingredient, and had the audacity to serve another dish which didn't contain the theme ingredient at all.
>>
>>20849150
Holy shit. She looks like this guy I know when he dressed in drag for Halloween lmao
He does a spot on Big Bird impression, I hear. I've never watched Sesame Street myself so idk how accurate it is but me deffo looked exactly like this bitch when he dressed in drag. He was supposed to be Daphne from Scooby Doo.
I'm gonna send him this picture
