These things are straight garbage compared to gas stoves
>>20940755Freshman year, huh?
>>20940758no, i just moved to a new apartment that has these
>>20940755I have to have one because I live in a trailer in the woods.
>>20940755Meh, I have an electric stove that works fine. I would prefer gas though. Everything in my house is electric, I would just like to have peace of mind knowing I dont have to whip out my camping stove to cook if the power goes out.
>>20940818Just pay your electric bill though?
>>20940755Chef Ragusea uses one of these so they must be fine.
>>20940755yes, but gas stoves are garbage compared to induction stoves
>>20940755I think the worst thing is that you have to keep it spotless. If you splatter (or spill over) on a gas stove it isn't a big deal. If you splatter on an electric stove you have to get it spotless before turning the heat on.Also it's difficult to get the temp low enough for some applications unlike gas.Make sure you use your vent when burning gas, though.>>20940861Induction area is probably only 6", which warps pans. Induction is also basically useless if you have a carbon steel and want the sides to get hot for proper seasoning.
>>20940755i don't fucking care a shit man i burnt my confit garlic
>>20940785Sounds like you could have wood or propane though
>>20940755Yeah you can't light cigarettes on these like coils or gas
>>20940965I also have a wood stove. No gas line.
>>20940820I do, I was thinking more along the lines of power going out from storms. We sometimes get tornados around here and once the power was out for like a week.
>>20940755induction BTFO gas in higher temps and time to reach them, just saying
>>20940818>if the power goes out.just thirdie things
>>20940758>tfw I bought an apartment that has these under the false pretense that I could change them to gas stoves down the line>turns out building is from the 50s, everything is electric and has absolutely no gas lines anywhere near it
>>20940900>If you splatter on an electric stove you have to get it spotless before turning the heat on.No you don't. You don't even need to spend much effort on keeping the heating spot clean, and zero effort on the rest of it. If you wanted. Lucky it's super easy to clean as it's a smooth hard glass surface.
>>20940967>Yeah you can't light cigarettes on these like coils or gasYou absolutely can if you wanted to.
>>20940755At least it won't blow up or kill you in your sleep.
>>20942085t. koreanDo you also believe fans will kill you?
>>20942095>Do you also belie-ACK!
