Looks good, right? Well the pastry cream inside sogs up the nice laminated dough, making the effort basically pointless. If you run a bakery I guess it's an ok way to use extra croissant dough for variety, but at home it's not worth it.What are some other foods that simply aren't worth the effort?

>>20940794I bet if you had cream inside you, you'd get all sogged up, too.
>>20940794>What are some other foods that simply aren't worth the effort?I was going to say those bags of dehydrated soup ingredients but that really doesn’t take much effort. Might be homemade ice cream for me, tastes good but takes a while, costs too much, and there’s a lot of cleanup for a little product
>>20940841Isn't it strange how everyone you've ever met, anyone you ever will meet, is a product of a creampie? Just a funny thought I had the other day.
>>20940794really good ramen. I make ramen noodles from scratch and my neighbor sometimes gives us brisket she makes on her green egg, they go great together. one day I decided to go all out- I smoked a brisket, made bone broth, and noodles from scratch. came out great but it was way too much work. now I only do the noodles, use better than bullion + miso, and usually leftover costco chicken or steak. soups like this scale really well for restaurants but at home I'm just going to cut corners from now on.
