I wish there were meat flavored gummies. basically the bone broth meme but in more solid form. you could have different flavors like beef and chicken and shape them like the animal they're made out of. why doesn't this exist?

These and the Skittles “crazy sours” they sell overseas (burger so I have to import them) with the mandarin orange, black currant/formerly plum, raspberry, pineapple are the absolute best sour candies period for the mere fact that they’re not coated in that sugar/citric acid mixture that turns into sandpaper on your tongue after a couple bites. I buy a couple cases of those skittles two or three times a year and hide half of the individual bags in random drawers and elsewhere in my house while intoxicated so I can have a pleasant surprise every now and then while looking for some tool for a project or article of clothing because otherwise I would scarf them all down within a week or two because they’re so good.

This seems like the right thread to ask. For an anon who enjoys trying candy from different countries, what are the best sweets from around the world? Obviously, gummies are top-tier, but candy bars, taffy, Turkish delight, rock candy and other such things are nice as well. Australia's Cherry Ripe is really good and so is Scottland's Edinburgh Rock. Japan has all those cool Kit-Kat flavors. Technically baklava would count, but it's not really something that can be ordered easily on Amazon. Actually, it might be, but its not candy.

What are the best candies in your country? What was your favorite when you were a kid and what would you recommend to a fren who wants to try the best from your land?

>The gummy thread.
My top is probably just my memory of lakrids during my time in Iceland. The most outrageously refreshing was the licorice dipped vanilla ice cream popsicle. It was like chocolate and licorice both. TDF

At home, I go between the wine gums, black licorice allsorts, and the lifesaver's gummis especially the exotics tropical fusions. I also buy pictured quite often, from lychee yuzu and mango to melon...the Japanese know how to capture real fruit.

I dated a girl when I was just out of high school who’d had her jaw wired shut for a while and when she got her wires out her jaw was still extremely weak and sore so at her request I would chew up things like sweet tarts, licorice, and gummy candies for her and feed them to her like a bird, it developed into a life-long fetish for both of us. I caught back up with her many years later and she brought it up saying she still thinks about it and it turns her on kek

Black Forest got bought out by Ferrera. They recently changed their recipe, where the gummy bears are very soft and sticky. Some gummies have a jelly inside of a normal gummy. These are like a homogenized mix of the gummy and the jelly together for an inbetween soft and "juicy" bear.

They are pretty fucking good.

As for other sweets popular in former USSR countries: zephir, "bird milk" souffle, halva, chocolate waffles. Our gummies are pretty good too, the lemon and orange slices being the most popular.

A year ago my mom was taking some of our kid relatives to a candy store and she asked me if wanted anything. Without thinking I said Peach O-Rings and she looked at me with a puzzled expression and asked "what did you say"?
I turned bright red and weakly said "p-peach rings' but she knew what I said and I knew she knew but we both pretended I never said it. She's convinced I'm gay now and doesn't look at me or treat me the same anymore ans she's been slyly hinting about setting me up with her friends flaming power bottom twink son. :(

>ITT: a bunch of anons saying that gummy/sour gummy candies are cancer for your teeth, namely the coating

Can someone explain to me why/how?
I mean, I know sugar is bad, but what makes sour gummies in particular the absolute fucking worst thing I can do for my teeth?

Cuz like, fuck.
I keep a 1.7lb bag of picrel on my table and pretty much the only time I actually eat them is when I wake up in the middle of the night to take a leak or something and then go right back to bed.
I take medication to sleep and it makes me hungry.
I kinda figured so long as it isn't like, stuck in my teeth and I'm still brushing twice daily + flossing I would be fine.
Now I'm worried.
.. Through a strange turn of events I ended up with no joke 20 family sized bags of them and this has been going on for the last three years.
I have nice teeth and would like to keep them that way.
How fucked am I?

>>
>>20957469
>>20965985
Alright so the other day I was thinking about my brother and how the only candy he ever liked was sour skittles.
Didn't really like anything else, but would eat those until his tongue bled. I liked them, too.
>go to store
>buy overpriced skittles at checkout
>only place to find the sour kind
>get home
>think of brother
>think of fond memories eating those things
>think about my self destructive and impulsive tendencies and how composed my brother appears when compared to me
>think about how rare it is that he actually liked something enough to eat it so much that his tongue bled
>open package
>see familiar, sandy coating
>stoke meter is full
>eat one
>overwhelmed with disappointment
>coating is just not the same
>mostly sugar
>not sour, doesn't have the citric tang is used to, and despite deliberately trying to hurt my tongue by eating them I couldn't fucking do it
>don't get to ruminate over my lack of self control while enjoying the one thing my brother ever ceded to

What the fuck, man? This sucks.
I think too many idiots complained and they changed the coating.
We are probably remembering the same thing, they're safe for you to go eat now.
It's a major bummer, they used to be so mother fucking good.

... I just wanted to reaffirm that my brother was human.

Alright, I am this anon
>>20966042 and this thread has given me some inspiration.
I think I might try to make my own gummies, just for fun.
Recipes seem pretty simple, and I've got a sous vide if I really need one.
I don't like making candy because I fucked up caramel one time when I was a kid and never tried again.
It's time to get back on the horse.
I have friends that set up at craft shows on the weekends and we have lax cottage goods laws where I live, so if it goes well I can actually sell them just by piggybacking a shelf onto a friend's market setup.
I would just have to package them and list the ingredients.
If you anons have any flavor recommendations, recipes, or mold recommendations, they would be much appreciated.

I just need a really solid base recipe to tinker around with and then I can go full blown turbo autismo sour savant with them.
Recommendations for that factor would be appreciated as well.
I am stoked to learn.
From an unrelated project I have a bunch of picrel around for while I'm goofing off and tinkering with stuff.
I might make an individual thread after I experiment a bit this weekend.

... I might also look into making some savory ones like >>20956257 for my dogs as long as they don't need an insane amount of sugar (which, admittedly seems like it might be integral as far as the fundamentals of gummies go).
Hippie fucks at the craft market would love that.

anyways, open to suggestions my dudes.

I went to my local supermarket and they literally had the same exact brand in the outdoor/camping section.
