>remove tartar sauce>add ketchupAhhh… perfect
Perfect? You're a simple man (ladyboy?)
I only tried the filet o fish earlier this year and it's easily one of the best things on the menu. I've always heard people say it's gross or whatever. Now I realize it's like the pineapple or anchovies on pizza meme. Most naysayers have never actually tried it.
>>20970716Nah the tarar sauce really works with fish and seafood in general
>>20970760Prefer chup with fish tbf
For me it's the Filet 'O Fish. When I was younger I recoiled at the idea of a fish sandwich from McDonald's but I still remember the first time I had it circa 2002 on a Friday when I decided to throw caution in the wind and get the Filet-O-Fish McDeal. Was it life changing? I wouldn't go quite this far but it certainly was an eye opener. No, it might not be my usual or even a frequent companion in my car, but the Filet-O-Fish holds a special place in my heart. The soft steamed bun is like a heavenly pillow that holds a perfectly crisp and flaky patty of sustainable Alaskan pollock. The tartar sauce is impeccable with just the right amount of tanginess and the perfect creamy companion to the patty; it really does tie everything together. Cheese on fish? I wasn't a believer either but that slice of processed cheddar cheese, invariably perfectly melted like you see in the ads, is a magnificient addition. Possibly superfluous, I can't say for sure because I've only had one with cheese, but I have faith that the McDonald's creators knew what they were doing when they added it; they tend to perceive the gestalt of each menu item in a way that most of us simply cannot.I am a fan of juxtaposing textures and I concede that the Filet-O-Fish does not have a contrasting crunch to balance the impossibly soft steamed bun and generous helping of tartar sauce. But you know what? It works. God knows why but it works, it really does. I sometimes alternate bites with their world famous fries, refreshing every so often with an ice cold Diet Coke that cleanses my palate and readies me for the next delightful bite. For me, it will always be the McChicken. But when I'm feeling adventuresome or just want a change from the usual perfect sandwich, I go for the Filet-O-Fish.
>>20970760us burgers live in a fishphobic society. the same way a lot of people won’t eat tomatoes, they won’t eat fish and they think you are weird for daring to do so
>>20970716You can get fish sandwiches at a seafood chain here with ketchup but i don't see the point of not choosing remoulade.
>>20970824Maybe if you live in Nebraska and the coast is a 3 day drive away. The rest of us think eating fish is perfectly normal
>>20970813This reminds me of when I went to McDonald's drive-thru some years ago and got two Filet-O-Fish combos for lunch. The cashier was a pretty chatty young girl with bright eyes and a bubbly smile. I parked to eat it in my vehicle and put on an audio book when I glanced up and saw that McDonald's cashier having a cigarette. She saw me and waved, kind of jumped up like she was excited to see me. She looked like she was going to walk towards me so I nodded and looked away, pretending to be busy. I had to wait 7 whole minutes before she went back inside, letting me eat in comfort again. This was an inconvenience for me, but I let it go. The very next day, I went to McDonald's for dinner and got two Filet-O-Fish combos once more. As I was driving to the second window, the same girl was working. Once again, she was acting somewhat obsequious and attempting small talk. She then asked, "why don't you come eat inside instead of in the parking lot?" with a mocking sort of smile. This really bothered me. First, I don't want my routine or actions to be tracked by a fast food employee. Second, she should not bully me or tell me how to live my life. I don't want to eat inside because I find it uncomfortable to eat in front of others and would much rather eat inside my vehicle listening to an audiobook in private.Overall, I think it this employee was very unprofessional. I should have a clean slate with each drive-thru visit, not get the third degree over some perceived faux pas. I often see people eating in fast food parking lots, so what's wrong with that? And how does she know I'm not busy, going to work, or off somewhere in a rush?Having said that, I continued to come back because the Filet-O-Fish is just too darn good to resist. I saw the girl around and there were several lesser incidents where she attempted to engage me. I simply ignored her until she got the message. Still, I feel like I should have complained to management. Oh, well. You live, you learn!
>>20971023I went to McDonald's yesterday and got a Filet-O-Fish combo and a Bacon Clubhouse Burger. I was eating it in my vehicle in the parking lot and listening to an audio book when I glanced up and saw the McDonald's worker I ordered from was outside having a cigarette. She waved at me and I nodded and had to wait 7 minutes before she went back inside and I could eat in comfort again. I don't think that employees should be bothering or even trying to socialize with customers outside of the McDonald's restaurant or drive through, but that is another story.I went to McDonald's for dinner last night and got a Big Mac combo and a 10 piece Chicken McNuggets with barbecue dipping sauce. As I was driving to the second window the same girl was still working. She was acting somewhat obsequious and attempting small talk when she asked, 'why don't you come eat inside instead of in the parking lot'.That really bothered me for many reasons. First of all, I don't want my routine or actions to be tracked by a fast food employee. Secondly, she should not try to tell me how I should live my life. I do not want to eat inside because I find it less comfortable and would much rather be inside my vehicle listening to an audiobook and enjoying myself and my privacy.Overall, I think it was very unprofessional to bring this up. I should have a clean slate with each drive through visit, not have to get the third degree because I committed some sort of faux pas. Which I don't think I did, because I often see people eating in fast food parking lots. How does she know I am not busy going to work or somewhere in a rush? How do you feel about eating in your vehicle in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant versus eating inside the restaurant?
>>20971023>>20971055I could tell you were a retard the first time, although I only skimmed because it was ultra cringey
>>20970824>the same way a lot of people won’t eat tomatoesNow that's just plain retarted. I don't really like 'matos on my fast Mcslop Burgers 'nor do I like store bought ones. Homegrownon the other hand are can be pretty good.
Sometimes I prefer mayo to tarter if I'm doing veggie toppings like a fish burger. Ketchup seems like a flavor overload since its not fucking red meat.
Mayo for chicken burgs, tartar for fish and catsup + mustard for regular burgs
>>20970716>remove cheese>add vinegar based hot sauce>Ahhh… perfectFTFY
>>20971169Ketchup doesn't belong on a burg
>>20970716But it was already perfect.
>>20970716If the touchscreens are working I tend to add lettuce
>>20970716
>>20971138thanks for proving his point
>>20975944bless mcdonald's for this. I'm hooked!
I like the tartar sauce
>>20976466If they sold this in stores, I'd never need to visit McDonald's again.
>>20970716We have that.
