/ck/ what is YOUR go-to Chinese order? For me it’s almost always
>general tso combination plate
> side of chicken wings
> side of lomien
> steamed dumplings
This usually lasts me 3 days to 1 night depending on the circumstances
>>
Almond Chicken dinner, with fried rice, an extra egg roll and egg drop soup.
>>

Love egg drop soup
>>
large general tso's with white rice. I eat it myself in one sitting.
>>
Ginger beef, special fried rice, beef and broccoli
>>

White rice over fried rice? How come?
>>
>>20976243 White rice is better for entrees. Fried rice is a dish in of itself.
>>
>>20976228
Gen. Tso
Crab Rangoon
Egg Roll

I make my own white rice at home, chinese place always has ass overcooked rice.
>>
>>20976243
The places I order from have extremely flavorful sauce and the white rice balances it out. Even then I usually have a strong urge to chug a bunch of water during or after eating.

Makes sense
>>
>>20976228
Mushu Chicken
Chicken Fried rice
Orange chicken
Soy sauce for later
>>
>>20976228
Two large orders of bourbon chicken a la carte, one large order of orange chicken a la carte, no rice. Usually enough to last me the weekend. Maybe throw in a side of barbecue pork if I'm feeling fancy.
>>

At an authentic Chinese place I always go for intestines. Braised, crispy, or in soups are all good. I love the texture of intestine so much. At an American style Chinese takeout place I'll go for Singapore Mei fun or General Tso's, white rice, and an egg roll.
>>
>>20976266
Never had mushu chicken before, what’s it taste like?
>>
>>20976353
Hoisin sauce is probably the most recognizable distinct flavor in it.
>>
>>20976228
I New England they got this big heavy, doughy, fried Peking Raviolis.

I always have to get those
>>
>>20976228
I have never had Chinese food, I think...
>>
>>20976228
bat soup
>>
For just me?
Chicken and saltfish fried rice or bitter melon with egg and tomato, if they have it. Otherwise, beef chao ho fun or that barbecue sparerib shit with a small order of mixed vegetables.
If ordering for the family, it's almost always the same thing:
Roast pork with mushrooms, spicy, black bean sauce tofu, large green jade (I think this is local only; stir fried various green vegetables in white-stock gravy) and a small order of shrimp lo mein, no mushrooms, for my kid.

>tfw bitter melon is too bitter for me
>>
Chicken wings and fries with an egg roll
>>

I'm literally the only one in my family that likes it. My dad, siblings and son hate it, my mother and wife tolerate it and I fucking love the stuff.
I find that contrary to popular myth, salting and blanching it actually makes it more bitter so I just scoop out the seeds, chop it up and cook it as-is so if you've tried cooking it at home and didn't like it, give it another go without that step.
I haven't had any in years but every time I pass by their little trough thing in the produce section, I think about buying some but never do.

Pork egg foo young and curry fried rice with an egg roll
>>
Chinese people eat cat fried in gutter oil
>>
>>20976228
>kung pao chicken
>white rice
>egg drop soup
Or sometimes mapo tofu.

Our local chinkie did really nice Szechuan generally. When you ordered the kung pao, you could order "chinese style" for better seasoning and more peppers, and of course lots of peanuts. They used to have a great takeaway lunch special, but they started cheaping out on the soup.... they would only fill the container halfway, but the bag was stapled shut, so you didn't find out til you got home. After that happened a few times in a row it was clear what they were doing.

(Then the owner got arrested for tax fraud.)

Yeah thats why people specifically like Americanized Chinese food, which is what all of this is
>>
>>20976228
mongolian shrimp chow fun
pineapple crab fried rice
>>
I have been getting the plain steamed chicken with sauce on the side. and broccoli or some other vegetable. sometimes I get beef and broccoli instead. its all cat meat anyway though

I've only had it at restaurants. I cook a lot of Chinese food and go to Asian grocery stores regularly, I should buy one at some point.

Walnut shrimp and Mongolian Beef (not spicy) Might switch beef with chick curry

When I was under 18 though it used to be House Lo Mein and Pu Pu Platter
>>
I used to really like the appetizers and that would be my meal. So the pu pu sampler and probably an add in like wings, ribs, or fried shrimp toast. My favorite was the crab rangoon and it can be hit or miss depending on the restuarant.

I finally found a chinese place that has good stuff and not sugary garbage. I like the chongqing noodles.
