So tired of that stupid cultural thing where people say you can't break linguine in half because of italian culture or something

Shut the fuck up!

No u.

I genuinely hate Italian-Americans and their larping. Then it got viral numbers of views on social media so it got super played out. Fuck spaghettimunchers.
>>
>>20976279
It makes the texture worse because shorter noodles don't wrap around the fork as well.
>>

you can do whatever you want, but why would you? it wouldn't even occur to me, I've never eaten pasta and thought that it needed to be shorter. so I don't really judge you for it but I do kind of question it.
>>
People who break the pasta are white trash. If you're brown you're already garbage so do what you want with it, break it and put whatever ooga booga seasonings you need to, who cares

I mean, ok. but why?
>>
surely one would break spaghetti to cook it easier not because it's too long to eat

that's the reason people normally give but I don't really get how it is any easier. pasta becomes soft almost immediately in boiling water so you just bend it into the pot. maybe that's difficult if you're using a realllly small pot, idk, I never had any problems doing it.

I think the whole thing is just a meaningless tradition, probably started by people when pasta first started spreading outside of Italian communities in America and who didn't know the intricacies of cooking with it yet. and it's been passed down, and now people are too entrenched in it to admit there's no purpose because they don't want to be losers.
to be fair, some Italians take it too far, I don't think it's done to disrespect their cuisine but just out of ignorance. so I understand the response to dig your heels in.

What people say this?

there is nothing wrong with breaking spagheti
I mean spagheti is poor people food so no point in eating it, but it doesn't matter what you do with trash food.
>>
>>20976552
I break it because long spaghetti is messy and stupid.
>>
>>20976292

Once breaked/broken spaghetti are still MORE than long enough after cooking for any twirling you desire.
>>
>>20976552
>some Italians take it too far
Do you mean Italians or "Italians"? Cuz I'm from Italy. I break spaghetti, fettuccine, linguine EtAl all the time. So does every other Italian I know. Only "Italians" who can't even pronounce their own surnames correctly have strong opinions because they've nothing else going for them.

You are such a huge faggot.
