>Curry PowderGive me your honest opinion. Is it good? Do you use it?No Indian replies
I tend to use the ingredients separately
>>20978638I can’t view curry the same after Indians got exposed as dirty disgusting repulsive people. Can’t think of curry without thinking about brown dirty people and shit.
I use garam masala. no idea what curry powder is
I like it and don't use it for curry, but there's too much celery salt. Buying the main spices separately and experimenting with other spices will let you easily mog it for different uses.
>>20978638I use basic white guy curry powder every so often for chicken + vegetables. Though I usually have a can of thai curry in the cupboard that I would use first.
>>20978638>11 herbs & spicesdoesn't the colonel have a trademark on that
>>20978684this. everything related to india is just tainted to me. nasty people.
>curry is 11 different herbs and spicesNo fucking wonder they smell so bad
>>20978684>>20978726thai curry is better anyway
>>20978726>>20978684the only jeet dish that is a reg. in my rotation is Vindaloo and that is actually Portuguese. always bear in mind that the jeets got tomatoes from Europeans.
>>20978638I make a seasoning paste with it.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6heu8n5M82Y
>>20978684Curry powder is a Britbong invention.
Jamaican curry powder is ridiculously good on grilled salmon.
>>20978638Grind your own - the cumin flavor really pops, when it's fresh ground. Yes, a mortar and pestle is kind of a pain in the ass, but it's worth it.
>>20978638>Is it good?I'm not from Berlin, so no.
For me it’s Keens traditional curry powder that I use pretty much exclusively for making mums curried sausages
>>20980295
>>20980295Who's mum? MY mum?
>>20978638there only ever was and only ever will be
Is curry powder not a stable in the American pantry? How unusual if I do say so myself.
>>20979563You're thinking about Japanese curry.
>>20981043They can't handle spice, basically. And are mainly gay. And fat. And low IQ.
>>20981062Why the fuck would I think or talk about Jap curry, you utter moron? No, I said what I fucking said:Curry powder is a British invention. The British are the *sole* reason why you can walk into a store and buy powdered curry spice mixes.COMPRENDE?! Want me to say it again you daft cunt?
>>20978684>>20978726lmao, rent free
>>20981104Unfunny, wrong and gay.
>>20978638I once put curry powder in some guacamole I was making because I was out of cumin. It actually worked really well, so now I put some curry powder in every time I make it now.
>>20981115Cope, seethe, dial 8. Bring receipts or eat shit.
>>20979563India is too
>>20981136Well now that you do mention it.....yes.
I run a curry powder shop so uh...yea lots of curry. Many spice mixes are common, that is to say garam masala well be listed as an ingredient even if the spices that go into it are also listed. If that makes sense. So recipes will say one tsp of garamasala, one teaspoon of cumin; even though garamasala already has cumin in it. Chinese five spice is the same. Spice is qualitative for post purposes, so there's no point buying a greater quantity of stale spice. As a general rule, buy hard spice. Doesn't burn in the pan, go stale as quickly, go bitter. Very few spices are for table use, you might buy some spice ground just because you're going to use all of it, or it's a bastard to grind. Clive and keenes are reasonable good, but really only for one or two kinds of dish. I use mine exclusively for fusion dishes like curryworst or Singapore noodles. If you're new to curry powder, try making a curry pie. Or if you can't make pie, make a curry sausage stew
>>20978684Using Indian spices will not turn you brown, just make your food more interesting. Many "Indian" spices are no actually from India (like cinnamon), and many are equally valuable in western dishes (tamarind, fenugreek)
>>20981147Sorry, I'm just not using any powders from india that probably have 50% fecal matter content.
>>20978788jeets stole their food from mughal dishes and euro dishes
>>20981144>As a general rule, buy hard spice. I assume that means whole spice to then grind yourself, but how do you do that with turmeric, which is a large part of curry powder, or ginger?
>>20978638indian herei have replied to your thread and hopefully your day is now ruined
>>20978638I keep a tin of Keen's in my spice cupboard and use it in my savoury mince for a bit of extra flavour. I don't use it in anything else.
>>20978638It's good for curried sausages and that's about it.
what if you tried eating it?
>>20978638Yeah, I like it.I have a can in my spice drawer. Every now and then I'll add a spoonful or two to a stir fry or mince or whatever.I was making midnight carbonara a few nights ago, and randomly added some curry powder to the egg/pecorino mix. Turned out great.
>>20978638When I make my own curry mix it just tastes way better. I can't taste any of the individual spices with standardized curry powders.
>>20984341Got a recipe you don't mind sharing? My main thing against making my own is that I don't want to buy 20 different spices
>>20981002>Who's mumWho is mum
