I got a stomach ulcer from the reaper. Worth it though
>>
>>20979125
Oh damn. I haven't gone there for a while.
Maybe I'll try em out again sometime this week.
>>
>>20979125
I'm a bitch, and I've never gone past Mild. But man, I miss Dave's Hot. When I visit Canada next year, I'm definitely gonna grab a bunch of sandos from them.
>>
>>20979125
You dont and cant get injured from spicy food. You already had the ulcer go to a doctor or you have gastritis or some shit.
>>
>>20979125
What is Daves?
>>
>>20979125
Nah maybe if you arent used to hotness. Ive always loved spicy and had curries my aunt would make that would blow your head off and mexican food that was monsterous. My guts have been conditioned over many years and also eating weird spicy stuff in the military lol so its made of iron.
But you never know, sometimes certain batches of spice suprise you like jalapeno or habenero which do nothing one day then have demonic spice the next that throws you off guard and you are pissing fire out your ass lol
Still love it.. Im a sadistic bastard

I've known people who got stomach ulcers from the onechipchallenge and can't eat any spicy foods anymore
>>

Its a hot fried chicken chain based out of California and has moved across the country. the food is seasoned and spicy. comes with fries and pickles. Bread if you get a tender.

if you aren't in tears doubled over in tremendous pain, can barely move or speak then it's not the same as dhc reaper
what you've described is a le spicy chicken sandwich not an actual challenge
>>
>>20979878
Lol never been doubled over but have been blinded by my own tears and snot for like 30 minutes and had to just sit in my car before I could drive. And god forbid you touch your junk with that stuff on your hands mmmmm keeps you awake

Capsaicin does not cause cell damage. Stomach ulcers are almost exclusively caused by bacterial infections and stomach acid erosion. People in Jamaica and India eat food that's just as spicy as the One Chip Challenge on a daily basis. You know people who are attention whores and hypochondriacs.

t. I have a stomach ulcer and I eat spicy food. It causes me literally zero pain. The only thing that hurts my ulcer is stomach acid, which I take pills to reduce.

>Capsaicin does not cause cell damage.
that's a common thing to say but you disregard the body's response to such things
the person's body causes ulcers in response to exterior stimulate
>>
I've been eating large amounts of capsaicin on every meal for around 30 years. I have never had a stomach ulcer.
I'm pretty fucking sure if capsaicin caused stomach ulcers, I'd have one by now.

Anything hotter than habanero is asking for a bad time.
Just stick to habanero unless you're an actual hardcore masochist who derives sexual pleasure from painful gastrointestinal symptoms.

I tried to go to one in Albany New York, but there were a bunch of joggers hanging around the entrance so I just left. Not worth getting stabbed over.

Doubt it. The food is too expensive for them.

went here with a coworker and got the reaper tendies. Made it about 5 minutes before I ran across the street and starting chugging milk in the middle of an Aldis. Ended up leaving work early and sitting on an icepack for the rest of the night. Not a highlight

Maybe they were there to rob the rich patrons of Dave's hot chicken.

I went to a trashy black chicken place on the north side of Nashville one time. I like spicy food, so I ordered some wings and asked for the hottest they had. I had grown my own ghost peppers before and eaten ripe red ones straight off of the vine, so that was my standard practice. They told me they were out of the hottest, but they'd bring me their runner up.

I knew that chicken was evil from the moment I laid eyes on it. It was DARK brown, bone dry. It wasn't a sauce like I was expecting, it was a dry-rub. A sauce has an inherent heat limit, at least when you're not using capsaicin extract, because it has to be cut with enough water or vinegar to be a liquid. But a pepper is 90% water, and a dry-rub means all the water has been cooked out of it, meaning it can be much more concentrated.

I got about half of the way through and was in absolute tears. The black lady that ran the place came out of the kitchen to gloat. "Wassamatta white boy? Can't handle it? That's just the second hottest hahaha!"

The heat dissipated in about 30 minutes, same as a ghost pepper, but my stomach ached badly for four to five hours afterward. Never had that experience before. I took a long break from spicy food after that and realized that capsaicin was what had been causing my chronic IBS. Now I just avoid all the stuff. It's been kind of nice actually, I've learned how to use and enjoy other spices rather than needing to dump tons of ghost pepper sauce on everything I ete to enjoy it.

the first time I went I got them hot and it was too painful to be enjoyable but the flavor was great. I get medium every time now and it's the perfect balance.
>>

You have a tolerance bro.
These people that get ulcers go from 1-100+ instantly, more than once, they dont build up resistances through years of daily/weekly capsicum meditations without ever skipping a chance for heat flavors.
>>
>>20980475
yeah the sad part was I really enjoyed it before the heat kicked in. now i see the building and my asshole twitches
