Found out that despite being sweet they have a surprisingly low amount of carbs. They're fairly cheap too if bought frozen and then thawed in the frige.

How often do you ear berries and what kinds?

Goji berries are meh. They taste like sugary tomatoes.
That pic is missing barberries, though I'm not sure how common they are in the US.

Goose berries are KING
You should not eat them while they're green though
>>
Had some this morning in a pastry. : )

Just got groceries this morning and picked up raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and grapes. I wonder why some berries are more popular. I've never even heard of sea buckthorn or cowberries before.

Illegal where I live because they kill pine trees or something and there's a pine forest, one of the largest in the US, just beyond my back garden.
Can't get them or currants here

Have you heard of dewberries? I've only been recently introduced to them in the worst way possible: as a soda flavour. It's really my favourite soda now, not that I drink much soda to begin with, but it makes me want to source the actual fruits and make jam or pie or crumble from them.

I try to eat berries whenever I can. They're healthy, delicious and can be used in all sorts of dishes.
All my homies love berries

They're my favourite thing to make into pie because they're by far the request fruit to use for that purpose. No stone to remove. No skin to peel off. No sacrifice to Pan, the goat god to perform. Just wash'em, sugar'em, starch'em and dump'em into a blind-baked pie crust. And because I can't make a good top crust to save my life (other than lattice), I make a crumble top instead which other than a lattice, looks fancy to people who know no better.

I grow my own raspberries and I'm gonna get some juneberry plants next spring. I should eat frozen ones more often tbqh
The fresh ones at the store are ridiculously expensive when they're in season and all moldy and horrible when they're not

Are cherries berries?

I grew up picking my own berries around my property, blackberries, mulberries, raspberries, strawberries and my Id eat half my bucket before I got home but my mom would make pies and jams out of them or jar them. I dont eat sugary things like candy or soda crap, I like fruit its got the sweetness and natural sugars I like. Never gotten fat or had cavities. If you eat good stuff, its Gods candy and nothing beats some fresh berries off the bush on a nice warm day in the summer out picking. Shit makes you strong and puts hair on your balls. Different times I suppose.
I pick up berries from the farmers markets when I can but stuff from the store doesnt have much flavor and is usually disappointing. Especially store bought strawberries, super bland compared to a sun warmed one off the vine youve grown.
Or I go and fuck around with the Amish near me and help them pick and get to keep some or if Im lucky their mom will bake me a pie if they have extra. Good peoples. God berries.

In the summer I buy a punnet of strawberries every Saturday morning and eat them with cream and meringues.

You have to pay out the ass for organic if you don’t want to die from glyphosate poisoning (in the US, anyway). My two kids eat like $40 worth of berries every single day.

goose berry confit for breakfast all year
sea buckthorn juice in late summer
wild strawberries in spring
raspberries from late spring until October European blueberry in summer
redcurrant confit with game
rowan confit with game
grapes in September
fermented grape juice all year, every year
cherries from early April to late July
elderberry syrup in winter
elderberry flower vinegar and syrup all year

The only ones I pay for are grapes and cherries. All the others are free if you know where to look.

Hey, nothing wrong with a crumble or streusel topping on a pie. In fact, I prefer it to a top pie crust.
Based berries providing us with great filling for pies

I've heard of a Dewberry, but never had one. I thought they were a variation on blackberries.
>>

The presence of cloudberries has weird implications considering they're an incredible pain in the ass to get in the US.

>defrosting them
But they're better frozen.
